Can't share my screen or access audio

I keep getting the message that "Adobe Connect quit unexpectedly" when trying to connect to a meeting. I get that when I dial in. If I just wait, it connects anyway even though I get that message. However, I can't share my screen or hear/share audio. When I try to share my screen I get the unexpectedly quit message again. And this time it really never just starts to work. I am using a Mac OS 10.7.5. Any ideas? This worked fine until a few months ago.

Correct, the ~ should be where your username is. You may have to enable hidden folders to get to the Macromedia folder. Here is a more indepth description: Having problems with the Adobe Connect add-in on OS X? Here is how to uninstall it. | Puppies, Flowers, Rainbows and Kit…
However, you can get the latest add-in here: Adobe Connect Downloads and Updates
If the meeting room launches in your web browser, then you don't have the add-in. If the meeting room launches in a stand alone window, then you have the add in. That is the easiest way to tell.

    I already checked that one.
I'm baffled, especially since it will usually give you the Invalid user name or password entered message. I'm not getting that. Instead the password field just jiggles back and forth. Very odd.

How can I share my screen with another apple computer?

By enabling Screen Sharing in the Sharing preferences. Both computers need to be connected to your local network, preferably by Ethernet.

  • Can't share one screen at a time

I'm unable to share one screen from a machine with multiple displays. When I select just one, screen sharing goes black. Can only see all three (tiny) at the same time. This is a 10.8.3 Macbook Pro trying to view displays on a 10.6.8 Mac Pro.
In the attached screenshots, notice the state of the display selection buttons under the Help Menu.
    Thanks,

Since 1987 and the Mac-II "the Macintosh way" has been Extended desktop. It is baked into the Operating system at a low level. It is not at all surprising that you get this result from Screen Sharing. The extended desktop is shown below in blue, and that is what I expect would be Shared.
The way to share just one is to turn the others off.

  • How Can I Share a Screen Remotely?

I know how to do it on a local network. I have a AirPort Extreme and am wanting to set it up where If I am away from home on my MacBook I can access the house and help the family with problems they often run into.
I figured out how to forward my ports correctly but I am lost on logging into my router remotely. How do I know what to type in?

So I should be able to go into any router and enter http://70.178.2xx.xxx...
Go into a router? I'm not sure what you mean by that.
To access your computer remotely, you would use the same viewing utility (like a VNC client) you normally use to view the screen. You would enter the public IP address of the computer that you want to view into that client.
I use either Chicken of the VNC or the VNC app on my iPod touch.

  • HT1338 I can't share my screen in the imessage app

Any one else have a problem with getting the hype link to become active for screen sharing in this app.

    HI,
    The App is called Messages.
iMessages is one form of Account you can have in Messages and it is Text Only over the Apple Only iMessages service.
Clicking the Video icon top right in a text chat will invoke the FaceTime app
The same icon in an AIM or Jabber chat will use the "iChat" style Video Chat  that iChat had before it became Messages with the Mountain Lion Upgrade.
    To be clear.
Messages is built on the iChat engine.
It in fact continues the version Numbers (iChat 6 is the version in Lion and Messages is Version 7.x.x in Mountain Lion)
Everything that iChat could do in iChat 5 and 6 is there (if hidden to some extent) in Messages.
The iMessages Account does not have a Buddy list and use the main Messages window (Chat Window and Interface) to start Chats.
The Buddy Lists that iChat used to use can be made to show up and can use those the same way there were in iChat to Start Video Or Audio Only Chats or Screen Sharing.
I am not sure what you meant by "Hype Link".

how can i display my laptop screen on a tv for a presentation?

You can get an adapter from the output port of your Mac to the input port of your TV.
    Depends on what inputs are on your TV. {VGA, HDMI, Composite Video, S-Video}
    Depends on what output is on your Mac. {Mini DVI, Mini DisplayPort, Thunderbolt}

Have you considered using send unix command to remotely log in all the computers that do not have user logged in?
You could set it up to be the default action for send unix. Making it easy for the instructor to quickly login all the empty computer so he can broadcast to the computers.

  • Can ARD 3 now share a screen across 2 different subnets

We have one central office. Clients access that office via a VPN. We can then share our screen with them as we work on a proof of a project.
It's a great solution, however, we can't with ARD 2.2 get it to work with two clients at once over the VPN.
An old Kbase article said that it wasn't possible to route screen sharing to two different subnets in the 2.2 version. But rather required all clients be on the same subnet.
Does anyone know or have the ability to test to see if this is different is 3.0. I'm hopeful that it is, as I can no longer find the old Kbase article saying that it wasn't possible.
    Thanks,
    Greg

Still no reply as to if this was resolved. I'm not so much worried about the move on the client side. As once we upgrade we have the luxury of upgrading everyone at once. I think that will be a smooth process.
However, our motivation to upgrade is dependant on wether or not the ability to route traffice over multiple subents is fixed or not. So we'll wait and see. If anyone can easily test this. I'd love to know. Sounds like a few other people are hoping to hear something as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Greg

  • IChat Screen Sharing - I can share my screen, but Dad can't share his

    Hi all,
Last week I used iChat screen sharing to help my Dad with his iMac, and although it froze and dropped out frequently, it was working.
This week, for some reason we can only share my screen, but not his. On both sides, the option to share his screen is disabled (greyed out). Also the Video > Screen Sharing Enabled menu item is also disabled on his Mac, but mine is enabled and turned on.
Both of us have Screen Sharing turned on in System Preferences > Sharing, and both have set to allow access to anyone.
He restarted his Mac a couple of times, but no luck.
Has anyone had the same problem, and is there a solution? Any idea why it would work last week but not this week?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
    Will.

    Hi,
You can come back and change the marking of the answered or not so that is not a problem.
What it should help is stop other people joining in (an effectively loading you with email alerts when they do).
A good specific title like your should also help.

Have you got "Allow control of this computer when this application is runnung" set under the Preference > Security tab on your computer?

  • Share 3 screens

Currently I can only share 1 screen at the time.. but I have 3.. multiple screen support would be nice!

Upgrading the admin side (not handled by auto update...had to manually locate and install) reliability improved. Also found that multiple screen sharing hobbled the system. Restarting the admin machine regularly (lab units restarted daily) things improved as well. Sure wish there were more documentation on RD...not much published on the topic.
