Can't sign back in to Messages or FaceTime

I have an iPad Air (128 GB) running IOS 8.1.2. It recently signed itself out of Messages and FaceTime. Now when trying to sign back in an error message of "An error occurred during activation. Try again." taking me back to the sign in screen. I've reloaded the current version of IOS, no help. I've reset the settings numerous time, no help. Any other suggestions?

I previously tried all those suggestions with the exception of turning off FaceTime and messages as the button to turn on/off is not displayed in settings, no luck. My iPad is wifi only so I only use email address for FaceTime and messages. I also have a 5th gen iPod and both Messages and FaceTime work fine on it. Was considering delete and reinstalling the email addresses on the iPad but don't see how that would have any effect as email works fine and none of that info has changed from the previously working condition to the now not working issue.

There is no official public documentation of that alert as far as I know, but apparently it can sometimes mean that the primary or alternate email address is invalid. Search the Web for the phrase "My Apple ID." The top hit should be an Apple web page with that title. I'm not giving a direct link because such links are never to be trusted. Sign in and verify the ID.
Otherwise, do as the alert directs. According to reports, you won't be charged for the support call if you select "Apple ID"—not the hardware model—as the product you're asking about, and cite the "customer code" in the alert as the "validation code" when you speak to the Apple representative. I can't confirm.

Did you try to turn iMessage and FaceTime off and then on again? it may take sevral minutes to activate.

A friend brought her computer over signed into network and renamed the network so now I can't sign back into my own network. It keeps saying connection timeout..any ideas?

I can't sign in to my iMessage and FaceTime after getting a new apple ID account. What should I do to solve it?

When I got my iPad I created a new apple ID it was working fine but then one day when I went to the app store and checked my apple ID, as usual it asked for a password, I typed the password in and was very sure it was the right one because i've been using it for a long time. Then it said incorrect password. I tried to type it in again and again and again but it still said incorrect password. We checked if it still exists on apple.com but then it said no apple ID found or no matches to our records or something like that. So I decided to get a new one but still used the same email. I found out that if 1 email is associated with 2 different apple ID's it may cause problems but as I said we checked if the old one still existed on apple.com it said it didn't so I thought it was fine to use the email again. After that the app store was working fine. I can install games and apps. I knew I had to sign in to iMessage and FaceTime again because of the I got a new apple ID but whenever I try signing in, it always says "Incorrect password" and sometimes "check you internet connection". I've tried signing in over and over again but nothing worked I still can't sign jn to iMessage and Facetime. What do you think I should do?

I have an ipad 3 and i can't sign in to my imessage or facetime.

I have an ipad with retina display and around the time i updated to ios 7 i am not able to log in to my imessage and Facetime. Could not sign in. Please check your internet connection and try again later. My internet is not to problem because my iphone and ipod have no problem. I have tried troubleshooting

Why can you not leave a video message with Facetime?

Would love to be able to leave a video message for the person I'm calling on Facetime if they can't answer. Is this possible?

You can send email to anyone. Messaging (I'm assuming this is what you are talking about--the other party MUST have IOS5 on an Apple device) is different. Think of it as an add on or a plus. It means you can message with someone without using your texting allowance on phone for example. Face time is also Apple to Apple because its an add on. Otherwise you can use Skype for instance--and I don't quite understand what you mean about using it for email.
Email is totally usable for any email address. I've been emailing all over the world with Ipad for a year and 3/4.--same as emailing from any computer or phone. I just think you are misunderstanding face to face and Imessaging as opposed to regular email.

I can't get back to my message list.

I am new to Thunderbird. I was going through my message list. I would look at a message and delete it and would be returned to the message listing. Suddenly it won't take me back to the listing of my emails and I can't find a way to get back.

It is a little hard to tell you how to get somewhere when you do not say what you are seeing now.
I will take a guess. Do you have the Folder Pane showing on the left side of the screen? If not go to the menu bar and select View-Layout-Folder Pane.
No menu bar showing? Press the alt key to make it appear.
Do you have so many messages open that all you have are message tabs across the top of the window? Right click one of the tabs and select Close Other Tabs. Then get in the habit of closing message tabs after reading the messages.

I can't sign in to my messages app on my mac.

On your Mac.
Messages can sign in to AIM, Jabber, Yahoo, iMessages and Bonjour and will need a password for the first 4.
In the case of the AIM account you could be using an Apple ID ending in either @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com and in this case the password needs to be 16 characters or less.
Google Mail IDs can be used for Jabber accounts in Messages (added under Google) but you do have to enable "Talk" at your Google Account settings first.
Similarly the Facebook has to have "Chat" enabled to give you the Facebook Chat ID to set up as a Jabber ID in Messages.
If you are using an email as a Apple ID the password with Apple may be different to the place the emails comes from.
If you have linked it to iCloud you may have been asked to update an @me.com or @icloud.com password which may also effect the original Apple ID password.
You also list iOS 7.0.3 but have not said if this is an the iPhone (or other iOS device) or the Mac.

I've got my email folders showing but how can i put back my email messages into the folders from time machine

my mac has been restored & i can see my email folders but how do i put back the saved emails from my time macine i can locate n see them but cant restore them

Thanks, but impractical. Many of the folders have more than 500 emails. Total is about 2 GB (which I have free on iCloud btw)
I tried creating a folder "Archive" in my iCloud, then tried dragging one iMac folder into the new "iCloud > Archive" folder on my iMac. I got the error message:

TS3988 I can't sign in to iCloud, message pops up stating that "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server". How do I sign in to iCloud now?

Was using iCloud just fine on Mac and iPad and suddenly can't access it from either devices.
When reviewing the settings on iPad a "verification failed, could not communicate with the server" message pops up.
When trying to access iCloud account on icloud.com a "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server" message pops up.
Meanwhile iCloud no longer works on both devices. (Apple ID works fine on Manage my Account)
I don't remember changing any iCloud settings but I was working on email account settings when this happened....Any ideas??

I have the same problem. This happens multiple times a day. I answer some questions and then unlock my account and then before long it all happens again. Extremely frustrating as I don't have a clue how to solve the problem.

AP1141N logs me out after 10 minutes and can't sign back on

I just purchased the AP1141N and I have created a logon account to access the device via URL which works fine but after 10 minutes it logs me out and requires that I log back on. Unfortunately it won't allow me to log back on unless I reset the device then I have another 10 minutes before it asks me to login again but then it won't accept my logon again without a reset. Very annoying.
I can logon with my account via the console logon but I don't know how to configure the access point via command line so I use the web interface. I have disabled the timing for security but didn't help. Any support on this or should I just send it back and get a better product? ;-)
