Can't sign in or make purchase on iTunes 7.7.1

When I try to sign in or purchase a song this message appears: "We could not complete your iTunes request. The requested keychain was invalid. Open keychain access and run keychain first aid, then try again." I did all that and it didn't help. I've been using iTunes for a couple of years and never had this happen before. A purchase was successfully made a couple of days ago. Thanks for any help you can offer.

My daughter had the same problem and this is how we solved it.
Open Keychain Access
Under "Windows", select "Keychain List"
Select a Keychain (we selected login), and check "Global", then Apply.

iTunes Store: click the 'Sign in' button at left of the black toolbar. Then from the 'Store' menu choose 'Authorise this computer'.

Before we had it so that, he had the itunes account and synced my iphone to it as a named device, but the problem was, when I used to send imessages, it looked like it was from my husband and not me!

You can set up Messages and Facetime separate from your husband and still use the same iTunes to sync things like music, movies, Apps, etc.
To do this though, you need to get your own Apple ID. You then use your Apple ID to set up Messages and Facetime under your account. This way your Messages and Facetime calls will come from your account and your husbands from his.
And you will still be able to sync the devises on the same iTunes account.

If you want to download a non-free item then you will either need a payment method - so you will either need to enter the credit card's details, or buy iTunes gift cards (if they are available in your country), either way you will need a method of payment.

Can't sign in on App store or iTunes

Just updated Mavericks and now I can't sign in to App Store or iTunes. I know it's the correct password; same one I used to sign in here.
Also, software update won't update Compressor for me. I tried trashing the app (as advised by Apple support) but App Store still shows it as something I need to buy.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are trying to log into with your Apple ID, or what exactly you are seeing (alert message, directions, etc) when you try to do so. Assuming you have (1) signed out, then (2) waited 30 minutes and it didn't work you will need to contact iTunes again.

I recently got a new Credit Card because the old one expired. My account was set up so that I could make purchases with my credit card. Now when I try to update my billing info with my new credit card info it says to contact iTunes support. Thoughts?
