Can't Sign In to Buy Music

I can browse the store and preview listening to music but when I try to "Buy" or "Sign In" I get the following message: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." I have "run diagnostics" and all is well. I have not had any problems in the past. Apple has sent me a boat load of documentation of things to try to no avail, any ideas?

Same problem. I enter my password correctly, and I can't get in. but I can get into Apple Support and other login pages with the same (correct) password. Arg!

  • HT203128 Why can't I sign in to buy music on iTunes? The prompt doesn't process my Apple ID and password after I reset my password.

    I reset my password for my Apple ID. Then go to Apple to sign in and my new password works. But, when I go to my iTunes App to purchase anything, when prompted to enter my Apple ID and password, it doesn't go through. I don't get any errors saying that I entered anything incorrectly or anything. I just get the prompt to enter my Apple ID and password over and over and over again, which does nothing but **** me off. Someone please help me!!

  • Can my family in Australia buy music for me?

    I live in the UK, with a UK passport, payment card and address.
    I have family on a working VISA in Australia. They have an Australian card and current address but they are UK nationals.
    There is some music I'd like on the Australian iTunes. If she was to buy the songs, could she send them to me on disk which I could then put
    Into my library?

    but they are UK nationals.
    The legal notice on the iTunes Australia Store states:
    "The iTunes Service is available to you only in Australia, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance."
    There is not a citizenship requirement, so the fact that they are UK nationals is not relevant.
    I think you can figure out the rest.

  • Can't sign in to buy book in iphoto

    I have snow leopard and ilife 11. I've spent hours creating a picture book. When I click "Buy Book" and after entering my order information - it takes me to a "Sign In" screen. When I enter the "Returning Customer" information of my account name (e-mail address) and then Password it thinks about it and then blanks out the password line without signing me in. I'm sure the password is correct. My internet connection appears to be working fine.
    I've tried changing the password (and letting more than 24 hours lapse)
    I've tried creating a new account.
    I've tried changing my Safari security settings to the least secure out of the thought that something was blocking the sign in.
    None of this has helped. It appears that there is some sort of glitch in the software where it is not actually trying to sign me. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to avoid a reinstall of ilife, but do have the disc if that is necessary.

    It sounds like it could be temp glitch - or it might not be
    I would try going to the apple store and re-entering all of your information (not verifying but re-entering) and making sure One Click ordering is on)
    you also can try renewing the iPhoto preference file -
    A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
    This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

  • How can I buy music again?

    I had a problem with my iPod and had to have it restored at an Apple store. Now if I try to by a song from iTunes on the iPod I get this message: A valid address is necessary to purchase using store credit.
    I have synched the iPod while signed into the store in iTunes but that didn't fix the problem.
    How can I fix this to buy music from the iPod?
    Thanks.

    Well, it turned out the problems was with my address. Apparently after four years of having an account for my iPods, Apple decided that a PO Box was not a valid address. They must have done this quite recently. When I did an experiment of adding my street address the problem cleared up, even though the post office won't deliver mail to a street address in my small Rocky Mountain town of 287 people. Of course they never told me that they changed their address policy other than through the cryptic message.
    Thanks for the help.

  • How can we buy music off your website

    were having trouble picking out songs off your website can you help us(trouble buying music)

    Woman,
    The iTunes Store is not a website.  You can only purchase songs through the iTunes application.  If the application is not already on your computer, download it here.

  • How do i change my security question? I tried to buy music on itunes and it asked for verification i can not answer the security questions correctly

    How do i change my security question? I tried to buy music on itunes and it asked for verification i can not answer the security questions correctly...

    Reset Security Questions
    Frequently asked questions about Apple ID
    Manage My Apple ID
    Or you can email iTunes Support at iTunes Store Support.
    If all else fails:
      1. Go to: Apple Express Lane;
      2. Under Product Categories choose iTunes;
      3. Then choose iTunes Store;
      4. Then choose Account Management;
      5. Now choose iTunes Store Security and answer the bullet questions, then click
          Continue;
      6. Sign in with your Apple ID and press Continue;
      7. Under Contact Options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would
          like your security/challenge questions reset;
      8. Click Send/Continue.
    You should get a response within 24 hours by email.
    In the event you are unsuccessful then contact AppleCare - Contacting Apple for support and service.
    Another user had success doing the following:
    I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
    Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
      a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
          tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
      b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
          "done", in the upper right corner
      c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
          Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
          should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
          security questions.
      d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
          selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
          should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
          questions.
    It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.
    Good Luck friends!

  • How can I buy music?

    I have redeemed by gift card. I click on buy to certain songs. I have to sign in again, and then it asks for credit card information, when at the top of the page it says $25.00. I am really confused. I can't purchase music. How do i fix this problem?

    I think it has more to do with licensing. You can only buy music from the store for your country. Unfortunately, if your country doesn't have a store yet, because they are trying to do everything legally, you can't buy anything.
    Even though I'm in the US and can buy from the US iTunes store, I can't buy anything that is on a different store. So, for example, I can browse the Japan store, and there may be a lot of things that I want to buy, but I'm not allowed to because I don't have a Japan billing address.
    I asked their support when the Japan store was opened why I couldn't buy from it, and that-the legality and licensing concerns-is basically the answer that I got.

  • Can't buy music with iTunes... and more

    Dear Apple-people: Don't you test your software before you release it?
    1) With the new iTunes 6.0.0.18 I can no longer buy music from the iTunes Music Store!
    When I add a song to my shopping cart, I get an error message saying that "An error occured...".
    However, the song or album actually gets into my shopping cart!
    When I try to buy what's in the shopping cart, I get another "An error occured...", an iTunes won't let me buy/download the music.
    2) After the release of iTunes 5.x I complained about not being able to transfer more than two songs from my library to my iPod Shuffle 1Gb at a time.
    Apple.com never gave me any solution other than: "Try and restore your iPod".
    Yes... that was the first thing I tried before posting my complaints here.
    Now, after I installed iTunes-6.0.0.18, things are no better. When I try to transfer more than a few songs to my iPod, iTunes quickly disconnects and shortly after reconnects my iPod, and the transfer is cancelled.
    However, if I transfer only one or two songs at a time, I can actually manage to put songs on my iPod, but I'm telling you... it's not acceptable.
    iTunes version 4.x worked without problems.
    What have you done in order to make the new iTunes so unstable?
    It seems that every new release has new bugs in it.
    Sorry about the brusk tone, but I am highly disappointed!
    Don't you test your software?
    Has Apple been bought by Microsoft?
    What is going on?
    And just for reference: no, there is nothing wrong with my USB. I have a digital camera, a memory stick, a scanner, a printer and an external hard drive, all connecting via usb, and all work fine.
    Looking forward to solutions!
    Regards
    Claus Holm, Copenhagen, Denmark
