Can't sign in to hotmail/virgin on Safari

Hello,
Today I am unable to sign in to Hotmail/Virgin email accounts. I can access the usual websites. Also, my MacBook is sounding like it's working hard every time I click to a site - not sure if this is just co-incidence.
Should I reset something? Any advice would be appreciated - oh, and I'm not computer-savvy so bear with. Thanks.

Delete your browser history,
Hold the Alt key down and type these letters TD, (or Gear symbol on the top right/ Internet options/ Delete button)
Check All of the boxes and Uncheck the very top box,
Click on Delete.
Close ie,
Reset ie9 or ie10 manually,
Click the Start button on the Taskbar,
Click on Control panel,
Click on Internet options,
Go to the Advanced section,
Click on Reset button on the bottom,
Check the box to Delete personal settings,
Use the recommended setup and install options.
Shut down your machine.

  • Can't log into my hotmail account on safari.

Bought a new MBP, I've had no problems so far, except for the fact that I cannot access my hotmail account on safari 2.0.3. Do I need to change any settings or is it a MS bug?
    Thank you in advance,
    Delphine

I don't know what your internet setup is like, but my mileage with Hotmail on Safari varies by my location. I never have any trouble at home, but at work, I can't log in. I assume this has something to do with the firewall or internet gateway setup at my company. It works just fine at work in all other browsers.

  • How can I sign out of hotmail after using it on my ipad mini?

How do I sign out of my Hotmail account after using it on my ipad mini?

I believe that I have the same issue with iPad Mini with Retina Display, iOS 8.1. No matter which way I delete videos from my iPad, they will still show as "deleted", yet the space is not cleared up. I tried restore and then a full restore (clean setup as a new iPad) and it still does this to me. I can solve it by doing a restore each and every time I download a video and delete it. Rather frustrating. Has been a problem since day 1 of iOS 8. I'm yet to try the power+home button reset. It may very well work, but I am surprised that a "fresh setup" of an iPad didn't resolve it from ever occurring.

  • I have firefox 4 and can't sign into my hotmail account. I get a download window with default.aspx. I can sign into hotmail on Internet Explorer.

I have xp home edition, version 2002, service pak 3, I have tried the deleting cookies, cache, and history etc. and this does not fix the problem. I just started having this problem on 6-15-2011.

Hotmail is rolling out a server change at their end which might be causing this problem. Mozilla has spoken to them about it and they are trying to fix it. I won't be able to provide you a time estimate by when it will be solved but hotmail/mozilla is certainly looking at this issue.
I will let you know if get any updates!

  • I can't sign into YouTube on Firefox but Safari I can on Safari.

Hey guys, when I click Sign In on YouTube the browser says redirect then sends me back to the same page (meaning it just reloads the current page and never directs me to my YouTube sign in). I noticed recently that when I use Safari I can sign in just fine so there must be something wrong with Firefox. Do you think you guys can help me?

I also had this problem, i removed all the unused plugins and it was resolved

  • Problems signing into MSN Hotmail

I just recently started having problems signing into MSN Hotmail when using Safari. The strange thing is that I'm able to access it with Firefox and also with the built in mail program on the dashboard. Just a few moments ago I wasn't even able to access the MSN.com webpage from Safari.
This seems very odd. I had no problems up until a few days ago.
    Anyone else having these issues??

    Thank you for the suggestions.
It actually started working spontaneously for some reason. I will try above steps should it happen again.
    thanks again,
    Eric

  • How, when I sign out of Hotmail (MSN), sign back in with a different account, and click on Hotmail, can I get it to open in the same tab (or at least same window) instead of in a new window?

Under options I've checked "Open new windows in a new tab instead." Yet often when I must sign back into Hotmail, it opens in a new window. I would prefer that it open in the MSN sign-in tab or at least in the same window, but am not given a choice. If there is no way to control that, can I move tabs from one window to another window?

Thanks. I read the article but don't understand whether or not I can change the preference with regard to Hotmail.

  • How can I stay signed in to Hotmail on the web

I am using an Ipad 4 and every time I close Safari and reopen It, I have to enter my username and password, and there is no box to tick to stay signed in. I am more comfortable using hotmail through the web based platform rather than through the email app, so please don't suggest using that instead.
Does anyone know what's going on and how I can stay signed in?

Unless hotmail has an app or mobile interface (usually m.hotmail.com is the naming convention sites use) if there's no 'remember me' tick box, then there isnt' a way.
The lack of that box could be a security feature, but more likely that it's java based, which isn't supported on the iPad.
Have you tried to access it via another browser? There's some free ones out there that have different levels of functionality than Safari.

  • Can't login to hotmail on only firefox - "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later."

I have cleared cache and cookie and keep getting this message when i try to log into hotmail. Only happens in Mozilla, not other browsers. "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later."
It's been 10 days and nothing works.

It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clearing cookies doesn't work.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

  • How can i sign out of my hotmail in mail?

I´ve signed in with my hotmail in mail. Every time i open the program mail, my inbox comes up. How can i sign out, so other people cant read my mails, or so other people can check their mail? Anyone with the same problem? Please help, I´ve just bought my first mac, so I´m a bit helpless. Thanks

You can't "sign out." That's not how desktop email clients work.
    Secure it other ways:

  • I just bought and installed mountain lion, and I can't get to sign in to hotmail. Can I get some help please. Thanks.

I just bought and installed mountain lion, and I can't get to sign in to hotmail after several trials. I need help please. Thanks.

so its in a forum, which I didn't stumble upon because it wasn't anywhere in the adobe troubleshooting steps for Windows 8 that automatically came up for me when I clicked that I couldn't see the test flash movie on their site. I guess if I spent another half a day googling I might have found it.
BTW, unchecking Active X filtering in IE10, was NOT the fix. I had to go into the security tab, and change the custom active X setting I listed above. So this link you provided which mentions unchecking Active X filtering was not the fix that worked in my scenario.

  • I buy a second-hand i pad and after i buy it have the seller apple id and it unlock and i contact the seller and he give me the password that can't sign in and i already try using hotmail to reset but the seller forget his hotmail password please help

i buy a second-hand i pad and after i buy it have the seller apple id and it unlock and i contact the seller and he give me the password that can't sign in and i already try using hotmail to reset but the seller forget his hotmail password please help

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

  • How do i sign out of hotmail on ipad 2 so another user can sign in, not really technical i know but frustrating.

how do i sign out of hotmail on ipad2 so another user can sign in, know this is not a very technical question but it is frustrating

You don't sign out without deleting and recreating the email account. Setup a second hotmail account. iPads are not designed as multi-user devices.
