Can't Sign Into Apple Store

I can't seem to sign into my Apple Store account within iTunes. I used to be able to, and oddly enough, I CAN sign into it using my Dell box next to my iMac. It hasn't been updated to iTunes 8.0 yet. Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks in advance...

    Hi Cridda7,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you would like to update your Apple computer but when you attempt to access the Mac App Store, you receive an alert that the store is temporarily unavailable. In this situation, I would recommend the troubleshooting steps located in the attached article. The steps will be the same as if you were troubleshooting this alert for the iTunes Store.

  • Can't sign into apple support communities with icloud apple id

i realise this isn't the right community for this question, but apple don't have a support category called "apple support".
i have that problem where I have an appleid called "frumbert", which I got about 10 years ago. it is and always has been tied to my gmail email address. i used this for about 5 years worth of itunes purchases, then forgot it for a couple of years.
when I got an ipad I also got an icloud account, and stupidly signed up using my gmail email address as my icloud username. it's tied to the same gmail email address as my existing "frumbert" account. i've since made all my itunes and app purchases using my icloud appleid, and it's the one associated with my mac warranties and such.
so two appleid's share the same email address.
i can't sign into apple support commuities with it because I need a new username. i can't create a new username because the email address is tied to an account already (this one, the old one, "frumbert"). An account utilizing this email address already exists. Only one account per email address is allowed on Apple Support Communities. Apple's way of saying you're c-ockblocked!
but I can't also change the "frumbert" account because there's another account with the same email address, my icloud one.
fark! how does one get out of this mess?

I'm having the exact same problem and so are a lot of other people. Apple's solution - shut up and create a new account just for the support community.
    Smells outsourced to me!

  • I have an Apple ID, I can't login into Apple store and iTunes  , it keeps declining my payment  details. Please what should  I do?

I have an Apple ID, I can't login into Apple store and iTunes  , it keeps declining my payment  details. Please what should  I do?

What are you trying to use as your payment method, credit card, debit card ... ? Debit cards don't appear to still be accepted in all countries, and even where they are it seems (based on what some people have posted) that not all work.
For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined (but you might not be able to use a debit card) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management
Do you have a different card that you could try ? Or do you get the 'none' option on the payment details screen (that would allow you to download free items) ? If you are being prompted to review your account then you could see if this post by mountaingoatgirl lets you do so without needing to enter credit card details : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24303054#24303054

  • I can't sign into Apps Store after changing my apple ID

i just changed my Apple ID and now I can't access my Apple Store or Update my Apps on my IPhone. I tried logging into my Apple Account in the Settings menu. The account verification shows my proper ID, but when I put in the password, it doesn't recognize the Password, just clears the screen then asks me for my password again. Please help.

    Hello eiffel6534983,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of what you are describing. If you have recently changed the information associated with your Apple ID (not created an entirely new Apple ID), you may find the information and steps outlined in the following article helpful:

  • Can't sign into iTunes Store since upgrading to 10.6.0.40 on Windows 7.

The iTunes 10.6.0.40 upgrade will not allow me to sign into the iTunes Store on my Windows 7 laptop.  I did a uninstall and reinstall following the technote titled "Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7" from the Apple support site.  On my home desktop still running 10.5 I believe, I have no problem signning into the store.  Any suggestions anyone?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, sign-in and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • After reinstall can't sign into itunes store

after reinstall can't sign into itunes store

    Hi,
you updated to iTunes 11.0.3 (42), and before that, all worked fine?
Instead, now, everytime when iTunes chooses to have you enter your credentials again, they're practically ignored, i.e. the dialog re-opens just like before, like in a time-loop (à la Groundhog Day)... Of course, if you enter something wrong, just to test, you get an error message telling that, but that doesn't help at all.
If so, or even if not, try this:
log out (click on account to do so)
log back in (of course, your Apple ID is empty then!)
you're good for another [insert Apples timeout here]...
    Hoo-ray. Really nice, isn't it.
I already filed a bug report; please swamp Apple with more “Thank You”s by clicking iTunes (next to the Apple on the left-hand-side), then “visit iTunes feedback site”, and fill the forms there. Thanks!
    HTH, Felix

  • I am trying to change my country from South Africa to Uk. I change my address on my id. When I sign into apple store, it asks me to verify the address details. It then comes up with invalid post code. All that works is the SA post code, not any UK code

I am trying to change my country from South Afrika to UK. I went into change ID, chose UK flag, changed everything to the new address. Logged into Apple Store, then got a message to verify account. Tells me invalid post code. Will not take anything else except my SA postcode. Then Apple store reverts back to Soth Africa and not UK

You need to ask Apple for assistance with getting back into your old ID. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to resolve this issue through the Account Security team, fill out and submit this form.

  • Sign into apple store

How do I sign into the apple Canada store - I can't find the login area that says words to the effect - "Sign In" to buy something.

Open App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID for the Canadian Store. Over on the right is Quick Links. Click on the topmost link to sign in. Most likely says Welcome.

  • When on itunes, I can't sign into apple account for store

Downloaded itunes 10, it runs fine.  When I go to store and try to log onto my apple account I get an error message each time asking me to try again later.  I have shut down and tried again and still get same message????

    Whats the error number?
and re-authorizing your computer means that your giving itunes permission to store data on it again.
To do it, open the Store menu and click Authorize This Computer. Then all youve gotta do is enter your account name and password.

It sounds as if you are trying to use the US store. Use the Japan store or use the US store with a US based address, credit card and phone number.

  • HT5625 Can't log into Apple Store

Get a apple srore error message followed by unknowen error

Back up all data.Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Reboot and test. If there's no change, restore the item you deleted from a backup, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Otherwise, you may need to recreate some of your settings in the Network preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
