Can't sign into messages app on IPad

Using IPad 2nd gen.  New message app now with new so update.  I cannot get signed in.  Won't accept my Apple ID password and then times out stating network connection problem.  WIFI working fine.   Anyone have this issue?

The Tubbs-
FaceTime works with your Apple ID in conjunction with an E-Mail address.  However, two can not be active with the same Apple ID at the same time unless each device has a unique E-Mail address.
You may be able to get the second device to work if you obtain another E-Mail address and register it with your Apple ID.

The first thing you should do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. I suggest you install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. If you don't have the media, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted from the disc, the USB device, or Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it under your ID. In that case, contact iTunes Support.

  • I can't sign into iCloud from my iPad

When I try to sign into iCloud on my iPad using the Settings app, I get the message "User name or password is incorrect".  I know that's not the case because I just signed into iCloud on my computer using exactly the same user name and password.
Moreover, when this happens the Settings app locks up.  I can't dismiss the alert that says the user name or password was incorrect.  I have to force quit Settings app to do anything else with it.
I've attached a screen shot of the Settings app and the alert message.

I just figured it out.  I had to manually delete my Mobile Me account from my iPad before signing into iCloud. Problem fixed.

  • I can't sign into several apps--is an app causing this?

I have a few apps which need to be signed into, like 3M cloud to take library books out on. When I try to sign into these apps, they either crash or tell me that i have made a mistake with my user name or password. I have contacted a couple of the app developers, bit since it is happening with about 4 apps, I am thinking there is some sort of conflict and was wondering if anyone had had this problem and knew which app it might be?
I am also having a problem with backing up--when I try to back up, iTunes tells me an error occurred. I don't know if this is related.
    It's an iPod 5 on ios 6.2.1.
Thanks for any light someone might be able to shed on this     problem :)

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

After having lots of trouble with redirect and Internet problems I restarted my iPad 2. But now I cannot sign into my Messages or FaceTime. I know that changing the DNS can fix this but then I just have more redirect and Internet problems. I have tried almost everything! Got any ideas?

  • I can't sign into market apps.

When I try to access market apps, it asks me for my google pw which 1) I don't know and 2) that profile is no longer associated with my google acct. I don't know how to change the google profile it's looking at for a pw.

    Hi toni10085,
Being able to access the Market to purchase and/or download applications is very important, and should be an available feature to you.  I would like to assist you with getting access to the Android Market.
First, in order for me to provide you the correct instructions, please tell me the exact model Android you're using.  Also, in order to access the Market, it requires you to have a Google/GMail account associated with your device.  You can check the associated Google/GMail account by going into the "Settings" menu, and "Accounts and sync".  If you don't currently have a Google/GMail account integrated, you will need to add one at this point before gaining access to the Market.  If you don't currently have a Google/GMail account you'd like to use, you can always "Create" a new Google/GMail account, directly, from the "Add Account/Google" screen.  Once the Google/GMail account is added to the phone, you will be able to access the Market by signing into your Google/GMail account within the Market application.
Let me know so I can further assist.
    Thanks,

Don't have google account any more-gmail-and now having trouble signing into YouTube. They are asking me to sign in to my google account to sign in on my IPad but don't have one to sign in to.

What does this have to do with Apple or the iPad?
Youtube requires a gmail account to sign in.  Meet their requirements.

  • Error signing into CC apps on iPad

I just installed Adobe Sketch and Adobe Line onto my iPad (running iOS 7.1.2) and when I try to sign in with Adobe ID I get the following error message:
This happens on both apps, and whether I click the sign in or create new account button (not that I need to create a new account).
Edit: Not sure if the forum ate the picture quality or what, but when I viewed this discussion I couldn't make out the error message. So in case anyone else can't see, the error message says:
    Creative Cloud
    {"error":"bad_request","error_description":"Locale part \"en-GB\" contains invalid characters"}
Edit2: I get the same error message trying to log into the iPad app for Adobe Creative Cloud, too. Just installed it today.

  • Can't log into Facebook app in iPad Air

I can't log in Facebook. I got the message "problem in logging, write your password again".

Followed your lastest instructions, wiped my ipad clean started over and everything seemed to fine.  I then went back into facebook on ipad (not app) and there was no place to log in just a spot to type in password all other acounts Twitter, etc. have both log in and password areas.
Most everything (apps) that uses facebook to play still work only some are not being recognized.
It makes no sense that some things work and some don't when the password is the same for all.
Very frustrating that I still have no control over logging into facebook!

  • Although I am new to mac, I am not new to computers and purchasing online.  I can't sign into the App store after installing Lion.  I have had to change my password 4 times in 2 days .  I am so sick of this.  I am trying to buy a tutorial for Lion.

I recently downloaded Lion and since have had nothing but problems with my new i-Mac.  My problem with the App store is only one issue.  Has anyone out there had any trouble with their components after installing Lion 10.7???????   After several hours on the phone with a tech my situation isn't any better.  I think the tech is sick of talking with me.  He was supposed to call me today and the phone never rang.   He told me he was working on something to repair my problems and needed to talk with engineers.  How long could that take????   If it wouldn't hurt the person who gifted me this i-Mac, I would give it back.

    Hi izzy212,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Sorry to hear you are having some initial issues getting started with the Mac App Store with your new computer. Let's try a few things:
    1) Confirm you are able to access and edit your Apple ID at Apple - My Apple ID
    2) Close all open applications and restart your computer.
    3) Open the iTunes application and review / update your account.  From the menu bar, choose the Store > View Account command
    4) Click on the App Store icon on your dock and download a free app

  • Can't Sign into the App Store?

After a lot of difficulty, I was able to open up the App Store properly due to a black screen and it saying I was connected to the internet when I really was.
The real problem now is how to sign in. When I press the sign in button on either the Store tab, then Sign in, nothing happens, also, when I go to the purchases tab or the featured tab and I press the sign in button, the text window does not pop up. Please help me just figure out how to get the app store to respond to me pressing sign in.
    Thanks.
On a side note, this never happened to me when I was on lion or Snow Leapord, only Mountain Lion have I encountered this problem.

Your profile indicates you are running Mountain Lion which means you cannot use the original disc that came with your Mac to reinstall OS X.
You must use OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery
"Clean my Mac," in order to clean out the computer and delete certain items, caches, etc. There's a chance by using that application, I checked off a few too many
A word to the wise...  third party so called cleaning utilties such Clean My Mac cause far more harm than good on a Mac. Your Mac runs maintenance for you in the background.
Definitely uninstall that software. Download this free utility > Download AppCleaner for Mac - Uninstall your apps easily. MacUpdate.com
That will not only uninstall the Clean My Mac app but all the associated files.
Then try the App Store BEFORE using Lion Recovery.
