Can´t start Directory Bind on OpenDirectory Server
Hello folks -
I´ve a problem to start the directory bind in the serveradmin.
I just want to connect my mac clients to the existent Open Directory, but it didn´t work.
The OD master runs on an xserve 10.4.11 including fileservice. A other xserve is configured as OD replic and Keriomail. I want a single user login for all services, and most things are working fine (mediawiki, mail, print, file etc.) but not the client directory binding...
I can configure the OD in the dirctory access utility, but if I restart the client, I can´t login with an user that´s configured on the server. After checking all the configurations on the server and reading logs i have seen that the directory bind in server admin doesn´t work. If I try to turn it on, it´s unchecked after saving.
I can´t delete the OD and setup a new one, because to many service are allready in use from more then 80 employees
anyone an idea?
thanksfully
Hi All,
Whenever i am trying to start control centre service using start_service.sql on server it fails with /owb/bin/unix/run_service.sh not found.
I ran the service_doctor.sql and got the following

There is a problem accessing the service startup script from the database server
Here is the detailed error message which contains the name of the start script file:-

Please verify that the disk containing the file is visible to the database server
Please verify that the database server account has access rights on the fileConnection information stored within the repository is correct

How i can automatic start WLS_Forms WLS_Report & Web Logic Server?
How i can automatic start just like oracle (auto start /shtudown through windows)
I would write a batch file and use the Windows Startup to call it.
I would probably include a check or delay in it to allow NodeManager to be available before I tried to start the AdminServer.
My shop is Unix so I don't have an example.
You also might be able to do it as a service and this may help:

Can't start Directory Server instance
I just installed DSEE 6.2 and DSCC on a SPARC based Solaris 10 server. After following the Sun installation guide and accessing the DSCC panel, I tried to start a directory server instance. After entering all of the parameters, I cannot get the server instance started due to the following error.
Could not contact the DSCC agent on ldap. Use the command cacaoadm to check that the DSCC agent is installed and running on port 11162.
After this I verified the that cacaoadm was in fact running and operating on port 11162. I then tried changing the port numbers, and received the same error (although on a different port number). Can anyone advise me on a course of action to get this directory server up and running?

Can't start web services in OSX Server 10.3
I used the GUI to turn on webDAV on one of my domains and now I can't even start web services.
For some reason, all of my domains now have multiple alias mappings, redirects, alias matches and redirect matches.
I have tried to delete the additional mappings from my domains, but everytime I hit save, they rewrite themselves. I deleted the domain in which I activated webDAV and recreated it and the mappings still rewrite themselves.
Any suggestions as to how to stop the automatic writing of the mappings and get my web services up and running again?

Can't start Oracle Enterprise Manager Application Server Control:
I've install AS 10g 10.1.2 on x64 Win XP64 with the option of just Oracle J2EE and web services.
Everything installed fine but when I try to connect to the Enterprise manger server control I get :
IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect
Reading the trouble shooting guide I see that maybe the Apache variable max connections needs upping. Mine was set to 150 and I upped it to 200 (and restarted)
still not joy.
can anyone help?According to metalink certification there is an issue with Win XP 64 bit for OAS 10.1.2.0.2 which is that
Only Installation Types Supported is J2EE OracleAS Developer Kit
Maybe you could consider OAS version 10.1.3.x ? -

Start a new Coherence cache server
Hi experts,
I have an application configured with oracle coherence running on the weblogic server. Can I start a new Coherence cache server from a command prompt so that, this newly created cache server joins the existing cluster already running on the weblogic server. Can you please guide me through this or point to the relevant documentation.
Thanks for your time.
Cheers,You just need to run...
java <parameters> -cp <your class path> DefaultCacheServerwhere...
<parameters> is set to the same set of -D paramters you have given the application inside WebLogic.
<your class path> is all the jar files in your application, including coherence.jar (but you don't need any ear or web app stuff obviously)
Presumably you have configured the system properties for your application in WebLogic to set the multicast address (-Dtangosol.coherence.clusteraddress
and -Dtangosol.coherence.clusterport), cache config (-Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig) etc... If you have not then you really should! You basically run DefaultCacheServer with the same parameters.
When I have used Weblogic and Coherence in the past the usual configurationis to run a number of storage enabled cache server nodes (which is what you are asking about) and then run the WebLogic nodes as storage diabled cluster members. This is much more efficient as it lets the storage enabled node just concentrate on storing data nad the WebLogic node just concentrate on you application.

Can't start NT service for Directory Server using other acc. than LocalSys.
Hi!
I'm using Directory Server 5.1 on a Windows 2000 machine.
I wrote a Plug-In for DS that needs Administrator Access to the NT Domain. So I tried to run the DS-Service as Administrator but the service can not start. I just keeps in status "starting...".
I don't get any error message and the errorlog doesn't contain anything.
Has anyone an idea?
Thanks!
FlorianI forgot to tell one thing: I use SSL, without SSL I do not have this problem. Perhaps it's only the popup I get when starting DS, where I have to enter the certificate password?

Can't start J2EE server :o(
Hi,
I'm getting started with J2EE but I can't start the J2EE server. I have to point out that I read the instructions in J2EE Tutorial 1.3 but I use J2EE SDK 1.4 Beta.. But it should work, shouldn't it??? I don't expect the problem to be very serious but I'm a greener and can't solve it myself :oI
Thanks a lot for every hint and sorry for my not very good English :o)

New install of SJS Ent 8 on Solaris, can't start Application Server 8.1
Hello,
Appreciate in advance your help.
Just downloaded and installed SJS 8.1 on a new Sun Solaris 10 box. I'm able to run the IDE and have started the Tomcat server, but when attempting to start the SJS 8.1 application server, I get:
The Sun Java System Application Server 8.1 could not start.
More information about the cause is in the Server log file.
Possible reasons include:
- Port conflicts. (use netstat -a to detect possible port numbers already used)
- Incorrect server configuration
- Corrupted Deployed Applications
The problems are:
- There is no server.log file in the expected directory at /opt/sun/jstudio_ent8/AppServ8.1UR2/domains/myDomain1/logs
- I ran netstat -a, but could glean no useful information
- I have not modified the server configuration since the new install
- I have not deployed my application (since I can't start the server).
Forgive my ignorance since I'm not a Solaris expert. I would greatly appreciate your assistance. No difference in server.log after setting level="FINEST".
Don't know if it would help, but the contents of my server.log file follow:

I do notice that the class path references jdk1.5.0_04. When installing SJS I selected the separately installed jdk1.5.0_07. Could that be causing the problem?

I have been offline for a long time since I had a business trip two week ago.
I can not start the apache http server, so it isn't on running status within NT services manager.
In fact, there is someting wrong---fail to create FastCGI when startup. Oracle system message tells me that syntax error exists on line 92 of isqlplus.conf but I don't know how to correct it.

Can not start Messaging server in Sun Java System Messaging Server 6 2005Q1
Hi all,
I installed Sun Java System Messaging Server 6 2005Q1 from Solaris 10 DVD on Solaris 10.
After the installation, I got directory server, admin server running but messaging server not running. I can not start Messaging server (start smtp, http, pop, imap). I found in directory which I installed messaging server but I could not see script "start-msg" and "stop-msg".
# pwd
/opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin
# ls
MoveUser ha_ip_config imquotacheck imsdirmig mkbackupdir
UpgradeMsg5toMsg6.pl hashdir imsbackup imsexport readership
configure imexpire imsconnutil imsimport reconstruct
control-params.txt iminitquota imscripter imsrestore relinker
deliver immonitor-access imsdaaci mboxutil useconfig
Any idea what might have gone wrong?
Thanks.Thanks.
I have a problem when I configure the Messaging Server (by running the /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configure script):
Hostname mailtest for this machine is not a fully qualified domain name. Please
correct this before attempting to configure Messaging Server. Please make sure
that your DNS is working properly.
<Press ENTER to continue> {"<" goes back, "!" exits}
Can you help me fix this problem?
Thanks. -
Can't start vanilla 8.1.4 platform managed server via NodeManager
I cannot get a managed server to start via the NodeManager if I create a WL Platform domain. I CAN get it to work just fine if I create a regular WLS domain. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior.
Steps to Reproduce
===================
1) Use the configuration wizard to create a WebLogic Platform domain. Name the domain "Test". Use all defaults.
2) Once the domain is created, go into the domain directory and run the create_db.cmd script to build out the necessary tables to support the platform domain
3) Start the node manager. On my machine I use the following command:
C:\bea\weblogic81\server\bin\startnodemanager 127.0.0.1 5555
4) Start the admin server via the startWebLogic.cmd file
5) Open the console for the admin server. Create a Machine "MyMachine" (name is really unimportant). Use the default NodeManager port of 5555
6) Create a managed server. Call it "test1". Set the port to 8000 and be sure to assign it to the machine you just created.
7)Set the remote start properties. On my machine I just set the classpath to "c:\bea\weblogic81\server\lib\weblogic.jar;C:\bea\weblogic81\workshop\lib\wsrp-common.jar;C:\bea\weblogic81\server\lib\xbean.jar" and I also set the Java Home to point to the default JRocket JVM that ships with 8.1.4
8) Be sure to save your changes by hitting the "Apply" button. Then using the "Control" tab for the "test1" managed server, click the "Start this Server" link.
9) Wait about 30 - 40 seconds, then click on the server log for that server. On my machine I get the following exception in the log:
<Mar 22, 2005 6:04:46 PM PST> <Info> <[email protected]:5555> <Starting Server test::test1 ...>
