Can't start my Macbook Pro in Windows XP.

I was using the Windows XP on my MacBook Pro when my friend hit the power switch. When I turned it back on, it went to the options where you choice the safe mode, last known configurance, and start Windows normally. I tried all possible action but all of them dont work. It usually ends up gooing to checking the disk It says Window has checked the file system and found no problems. Then it goes to the blue screen and suddenly restarts. It continues to go through this cycle even when i close the laptop. It's does mention something about memories.

By memories, I'm guessing your refering to the physical memory dump. Could you give us/me the error code? Visit this website and tell me which it most resembles. If you were doing something important, he may have corrupted a file by pressing the power button.

Boot into your recovery partition (restart, hold down ⌘R until you see the Apple logo), and use Disk Utility to repair your hard drive. Repair permissions too while you're there. OS X: About OS X Recovery

  • Can't start my MacBook pro

    Good day.
    I ask your help.
    I have a MacBook Pro Intel core i5 early 2011 model MC700RS / A.
    So, my unfortunate story begins.
I use my laptop at home, he was always connected to the internet, and so I decided to encrypt a hard drive, in fact, it is also the password to your account. The company apple computers have such protection is called FileVault. I put it. And it was my first mistake.
My laptop was working without any problems, everything was wonderful, as usual except for one "but." If I click "turn off" or "reset", then my computer started to perform some action, and the time came when the screen displays your company logo and just below the logo spinning circle indicating loading, and in this condition the laptop is able to "forever" , that is, until the battery sits. I was puzzled, and I decided to find the cause of all this. At the same service, "answers google", I found the answer to your question, it said that there are two folders, which are responsible for autostart: LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons. They are inside the library. It has been said that if you delete unnecessary files from the two folders, the problem will be solved. To delete unnecessary files, you had to take into account one very important detail, delete files whose names do not begin with "com.apple" ... My second mistake is that this little thing I left out. I erased all the files at all. And reboot.
And now comes the climax, when he does not turn on, the situation is exactly as it was before the company logo and the spinning circle. Waited an hour. No-thing.
Reached into Disk Utility, check the drive, all right, to make sure clicked "fix disk" too personal. Reload is not included. Again reached into Disk Utility via CMD + R, as done previously. And my third mistake. I erased the disk partition, hoping to reinstall the OS, but my expectations were not married success. In the end, I got the "not working" laptop with an encrypted disk. I can not add or remove sections, can not install OS, Disk Utility is open only "first aid", and to "erase", so to speak, in gray and the utility says that the disk is protected, and to change or add information / delete partitions, I have to remove the protection.
3 my fatal errors by which I was without a computer. Tried to reinstall the OS, but the computer does not see the hard drive, does not see it, because he is protected.
If someone has an idea how I can build something, please write.
In about the service do not write, I will not give it back, do not trust.
    Thanks in advance

  • Airport Extreme can't connect to MacBook Pro running Windows XP

I have a new Airport Extreme Base Station and an intel MacBook pro that is 6 months old and dual boot. The AEBS is set up with WPA2 and AEs. All works well for both MacOS (Leopard) and WindowsXP in wired mode and wireless works fine for the Mac side. When i run Windows, i can see the wireless network but i can't seem to configure it to actually connect to the network. I set it to WPA-PSK/AES, but it never can connect, and when i go back to check the settings in zeroconfig (the Windows connection manager) the connection is always reset to "WEP". Any suggestions? BTWQ, we can't connect my son's laptop (Windows XP ) either.

Try changing the encryption, also make sure the computer is fully updated. Windows Xp computers do not all have native WPA2 capability. Try disabling security and see if that works. If it does not, it may be an interfernce problem on one computer. Try changing the wireless channel to 3 or 9

  • Can not start up MacBook Pro 13

When I turn on the laptop, there's welcoming sound, apple logo and processing panel but 15 seconds later the screen totally black out
I tried to perform safe boot, reset RAM but nothing works
My laptop was very new, hardly used
This issue had already happened 3 months ago and was fixed by Apple technical service (cuz it was still under warranty and now it's not :((
They had to replace my hard-drive which I completely had no idea the reason why.
Could somebody please help me with this issue cuz I don't' want to go back to Apple doing the same stuff as last time as same error might occur again.

If no success, try booting into the recovery partition (Holding the OPTION key on startup).  If you can, run Disk Utility>First Aid.

Is it best to run Windows 7 in Boot Camp, or would it be better to use VMWare Fusion or similar? I have a MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo (OSX 10.6.8) and I also have a Dell laptop solely because one program that I need to use for work is only available for Windows. I would love to consolidate to my mac but am afraid installing Windows will ruin it!
It all depends on what your useage of Windows will be, for playing games install it in BootCamp, for word processing, spreadsheets, email. browsing etc a virtual Machne will be fine.

Office for Mac, http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products, can open/edit/create Office documents. If your external drive is formatted NTFS then you can copy the Office documents to your computer and work on them. You won't be able to save the files back to your NTFS formatted drive. But you will be able to save the documents to your internal drive. You can move all the external files to your internal drive then format the external drive for Apple. Then you can copy the files back to your external drive for ongoing use.

Is Apple compatible with Microsoft Office?
Any computer is compatible as long as it can read and write Office files. But for perfect (or at least near perfect) compatibility, you would want to purchase Office 2011 for Mac.
How can I transport from Windows to Mac?
You can't directly transport any installation of Windows. All PC's come with a machine specific version of Windows intended for that PC. They don't have all of the hardware drivers the retail disks cover.
If you want Windows on your Mac, you would first purchase a full version copy (NOT an upgrade disk) of Windows 7 or 8. Those are the only supported versions on newer Macs. You install it through the supplied Boot Camp utility that comes with the Mac to create a new partition for Windows, and then install the retail copy of Windows you purchased.
The reason only these versions of Windows are supported is the same basic reason as a machine specific version of Windows for a PC. Apple only includes the necessary Mac hardware drivers for Win 7 or 8 on new Macs.
Once Windows is installed, you could then install the version of Office for Windows you already own. The nuisance of a Boot Camp partition is that you have to physically boot to either Windows or OS X, so you can only use the apps of the OS you're in at the time. To use both at once, you'd have to use virtual machine software (Parallels, VMware, VirtualBox) and then install Windows within that. Then you'd be able to run Windows inside of OS X and have access to both at the same time.

  • Windows laptops can't connect to Macbook Pro shared internet when WEP security is on

As the title states, my Windows laptops can't connect to Macbook Pro shared internet when WEP security is on.  My iPhone has no problem asking for the password when I try to access the shared internet my MacBook Pro on Mountain Lion is sending, but my Samsung Slate on Windows 8 sees the network and only succeeds in connecting when no password is required.  When security is on, it just tries for a moment and says it can't connect to the network without ever prompting me for the password.  The same thing occurs on my Asus Netbook running Windows XP.  Since all the reviews about OS X's internet sharing mentions "any wifi device" can access it, I haven't assumed it's only compatible with Apple products.  I want my MacBook Pro to save me from needing an external router.

I would post a new question, outline the specific problem you are having and skip all the extra. Outline any steps you have taken already to try and solve the problem. Post the question in the forum most likely to have followers who can answer your question. Give your topic a good title such as: My MacBook Pro cannot connect to my WEP-enabled PC.
Provide any hardware information that may be relevant such as the make and model of your router and method of connection - wired or wireless.
I'm no authority, but have you tried using WPA2/Personal on your PCs? This method is most compatible with Macs.
If the WEP password is a hexadecimal password then on the Mac you need to preceed the number with a $ sign or the hex digits, 0x.

Restart the computer with the Command and S keys held down and run:

By default, the first command will return a Shared entry and one with an username on it. Supply that username.
