Can't start OAS-4.0.8.1 on RH 6.2

During startup of OAS i recieve error message:
$owsctl start
Please wait while the command is being processed on host mhs_3 ...
Starting ORB process...
waiting for ORB to be ready...
The command completed successfully on host mhs_3.
OWS-08820: Unable to start oassrv process '/oracle/o01/app/oracle/product/oas-4.0.8.1/ows/4.0/bin/oassrv'.
Initialization Failure- Exiting OAS...
Execute STOP of all the OAS Processes from the OAS Manager
Same message I recieve when I try to start
OAS remote from Netscape.
What can I do to resolve this problem?

Have you applied patch 1226512? I can start all the processes and listeners. But still I cannot run a PL/SQL application.

I have OAS 4.0.7 installed on standalone NT 4.0 (SP3) machine
and the machine DOES NOT have a network card. I use the
Microsoft loopback adapter and TCP protocol. I can connect
to http://my_machine_name:8888/. When I clicked the OAS Manager
icon to go to that page and try to start the ORB processes, I
received this error message:
Can't start ORB processes.
OWS-20214: The OAS processes cannot be started.
Is this due to improper setup the TCP or something else?

we have the same problem as you.
But we have an correct installed TCP-Connection.
Our message:
Message 3114 not found; No message file for product=orb,
facility=ctlMessage 3130 not found; No message file for
product=orb, facility=ctlReturning filename E:
\ORANT\orb\admin\.event
Message 3118 not found; No message file for product=orb,
facility=ctlMessage 3119 not found; No message file for
product=orb, facility=ctlOWS-20214: The OAS processes can not be
started, because the CORBA orb processes can not be started.
But till now, we have no solution !

Can not start Enterprise Manager web page

I can not start Enterprise Manager web page.
Here is my steps:
1. Start enterprise manager
emctl start
Waiting for EM to initialize ...Started
2. Check status:
emctl status
EMD is up and running : 200 OK
3. Start the web page
http://myhost:1810/
4. get following error
"There was no response. The server could be down or is not responding"
System info:
Database: 8.1.7.2
OAS: 9.2.0.2
JDK: 1.3.0_02
Server OS: SunOS 5.8
My question is where is the log file of enterprise manager and what the problem is.

maybe for my shutdown and startup database abnormal for several
times,now the server oracleorahome81management server can't start
and while i logon to enterprise manager console,it show me a

Can't start OracleStartOAS 4.0 service

I installed OAS 4.0.8.1 on WIN NT workstation
with SP 5 successfully.
But, I can't start "OracleStartOAS 4.0" service and receive the following error:
"Could not start the OracleStartOAS 4.0

Previously, I installed Oracle DB 7.3 on a
different directory.

Hai, I face a problem which I can't start my application server.
I go to application server manager and try to start my
application server by select 'ALL' and press start
After 'start' button was press, another windows apear and show
the status of the connection. After a while a message show me as
below :-
'The OAS processes can not be started, because the CORBA orb
processes can not be started.'
how to get start with the 'CORBA orb processes'

With nt4 sp 4, I got the same problem and the problem was with
the yt40.dll.
The patch on ftp://oracle-
ftp.oracle.com/server/patchsets/internet/NT/oas40710/export/
will correct the problem.

Can nort start OC4J_BI_FORM after Portal password change(9.0.4)

We changed PORTAL password by going top sqlplus and OAS. Thinking it will make changes at both places. Now we see that when we start OAS. OC4J_BI_FORM does not start???

Please provide more details like: Server OS, Java version, and what type of database you are using for the FM Server. Have you considered using a newer version of FM Server?

i get following error when i see the "olapsys.xml_load_log" table
***Error Occured: Failed to Build(Refresh) DB_OWNER.MY_ANALYTICAL_WORKSPACE Analytic Workspace. Can not start a job.
Can anybody explain when and why this error occurs? I have wasted a lot of time searching for this issue, but have found no person facing such issue.

This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
- We have an AW maintenance / refresh script or procedure that contains BuildType="BACKGROUND", so that the AW maintenance task will be sent to the Oracle Job queue.
- When we execute the AW maintenance / refresh script or procedure, we do not get any errors in the foreground, the script/procedure has been executed successfully.
- However when we look into the build/refresh log (see <Note 351688.1> for details) we see that the maintenance/refresh task failed with:
13:29:39 Failed to Submit a Job to Build(Refresh) Analytic Workspace <schema>.<AW Name>.

- In the generated SQL trace for the session of the user who launches the AW build/refresh script or procedure, we see that ORA-27486 insufficient privileges error occurred at creation of the job.
We see from the relevant bit of the SQL trace that err=27486 occured while executing the #20 statement which is 'begin DBMS_SCHEDULER.CREATE_JOB ...', and the statement is parsed and tried to be executed as user having uid=91:

Cause
User who tries to create a job (executes DBMS_SCHEDULER.CREATE_JOB() procedure) does not have the sufficient privileges.
Solution
1. Identify the user under which the job is supposed to be created. This user is not necessarily the same as the user who launched AW build/refresh script or procedure. Get the corresponding username from one of the %_USERS views e.g. from ALL_USERS.
e.g.
SELECT user_id,username FROM all_users WHERE user_id=91;
2. Identify the system privileges currently assigned to the user by connecting as the user whom the privileges need to be determined, and execute:
SELECT * FROM SESSION_PRIVS ORDER BY PRIVILEGE;
3. Ensure that the CREATE JOB privilege is listed.
The CREATE JOB privilege can be granted in various ways to a user:
- via role OLAP_USER or via role OLAP_DBA (see view ROLE_SYS_PRIVS for what privs are assigned to a role):
GRANT OLAP_USER TO <username>;
- explicitly
GRANT CREATE JOB TO <username>;

When installing itunes get error "program can't start because msvcr80.dll is missing

I cancelled the installation of the latest version of iTunes on my Windows PC and when attempting to reinstall it, I now get a message that "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem." Reinstalling the program does not fix the problem. Repairing the installation does not fix the problem. A search shows the "missing" file does exist in the MSOCache directory.
