Can't start or uninstall Photoshop

run the cleaner and try to reinstall, http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

  • Can't start or uninstall Adobe Reader 9.3

When I try to start Adobe reader I get an error message that jusy says "an internal error occured"
Also I get errors when I try to uninstall it or update it. Total frustration. Can anyone help?

How did you get this copy of Reader 9.3 ? Did you install it yourself or it cam pre-bundeled with your machine? What is the version of Windows OS you are using
Try running repair from Control-Panel->Add/Remove Programs, it might fix the launch issue.

  • Can't Start Up Adobe Photoshop

    http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/4316/01132010164203.jpg
When I start it up, its stuck on the "Reading Text Global Resources... Done" process.
From here I can't do anything except close Photoshop because its not responding.
I also have Elements 7.0, and it works fine.
I've been running Adobe Photoshop CS for at least a two years, and I've had Windows 7 since it came out, and I've never had problems before.
I can't think of any way I've made changes to my computer lately...  Does anyone have ideas of what it could be?

If the Adobe reader file folder was left behind after removing it then I would take a guess and say yes. Wouldn't hurt to make sure the folder itself was actually removed.
The app data should be under your name in windows 7.
You can also manually remove the prefs.

Also to run Photoshop itself as Admin right click on the icon in the .exe file in Start, Click Properties, click on Compatibility tab and check run as Admin at the bottom.
I am not sure if you have to run the rest of your software package as Admin too.
Something else to look out for: When I had PS CS4 installed on my Windows 7 rig if I wanted to just open bridge by itself I had to run Bridge as Admin.

  • Can't start bridge from photoshop.

After updating bridge to new version. I try to launch bridge in photoshop with the "browse in bridge" menu option. Instead of launching bridge like it used to, it now goes to cc installer and asks to install bridge. It keeps looping like this endlessly. Even after shutting down computer and restarting.

Bridge can open manually via program files folder. The problem is it wont start through photoshop files->browse in photohop menu. It instead opens the CC panel and asks to download Bridge. No matter what I select it downloads bridge CC only and goes back into a loop. If I open bridge manually in the menu I can't access tools>photoshop>image processor which I use a lot and saves enormous amount of time for some of the work. Till it gets fixed I am wasting hours each day manually doing what image processor used to do.

  • Can not Install or Uninstall Photoshop CS upgrade

Clean install of Windows XP SP3 machine (machine reloaded becasue of virus).
    Installed photoshop 6.0 successfully.
Installation of photoshop CS upgrade locks up towards end of installation.
Can not uninstall through add/remove programs error:
         SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp(442)
PAPP:Adobe Photoshop CS and Image Ready CS
         PVENDOR:Adobe (http...)
         PGUID:EFB21DE7...
         $7.1.100.1248
         @windows XP Service Pack 3 (2600) IE 8.0.6001.18702
Tried install again and got same lockup
tried uninstall again and same error
    tried clearing temp directory, rebooting
    same results.

You may need to update (or more appropriately downgrade) your MSInstaller. If you installed with SP3 straight, some stuff from previous installs may not yet be on your system. This in particular relates to the various versions of Internet Explorer and how they update the Windows Installer. Check the Microsoft pages and download the proper version, if necessary. Jeff has a point, though. could just be that something is damaged. In that case trying to copy the files or creating a disc image and mounting that as a virtual CD might work better...

  • Can't start my old Photoshop CS4. Error:150:30 Licensing for this product has stopped working

I can't use my PS CS4 because it seems the licensing has stopped working. I restarted the Mac few times but this error seems to persist.

It's an extremely common error with CS4. It means the licensing is broken. For people not really familiar with Terminal, my best answer is to suggest a fresh install from your discs to fix this. You will have to reapply all updates.
Since the Help > Update part is not working well, download and install your updates (Photoshop, Bridge, Adobe Camera Raw) from here Product updates.
Usually this happens when Photoshop is moved from another computer, from a backup like Time Machine, or even as OSX upgrade to Yosemite.

  • Problem uninstalling photoshop elements

can anybody help me uninstall photoshop elements -I had a problem with this program after loading from a DVD, the organiser works but not the editor. However on trying to uninstall i received the error message 1306: a file ProgramData......./Thumbdatabase.db3  could not be uninstalled because another file has exclusive access -it appears the file is open in the editor ???. Can anyone help

Restart the computer and see if that frees the lock. If not run Task Manager and end any task that has the word 'Elements' in it.

  • Can't start Photoshop without deleting preferences file

    Hi gang,
I have a Macbook Pro running Lion, OS X 10.7 that I purchased two months ago so it's relatively new. Just bought Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended and installed it on the computer a day ago. Software will not operate unless I hold option+command+shift when starting so that the preferences file is deleted. I'm hoping someone knows how to help me reset things.
I suspect that the problem stems from a plugin that I deposited into the plugins folder, because the software was working at first. I didn't piece this together until after the fact, but once I fired up the software a couple times after installing it, it worked fine each time. I noodled around and checked some things out to see what's new in CS5, then I went ahead and deposited a favorite plugin into the plugins folder. Things stopped working after this. Not positive the plugin is related, but thought I should mention it.
I removed the plugin of course, to no avail. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software three times. No difference. When I open the software without deleting the prefs file, it's just buggy and non-responsive. Can't start a new project, and thing just end up crashing every time. The software is useless without deleting the prefs file when firing it up.
Is there any hope of restoring things to normal? Thanks very much!

    Boilerplate-text:
Are Photoshop and OS fully updated?
As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by keeping command-alt-shift pressed on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html
Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem.

  • Uninstalling Photoshop Album Starter

I have been using Paint Shop Pro for several years. I installed this complimentary edition of Photoshop to see what it looked like. It immediately defaulted all my photos on the computer to the Photoshop program. Now I can't open them in Paint Shop Pro. I would like to uninstall Photoshop Album Starter and return to PSP but I'm afraid, if I remove the program, I'll also remove my pictures. Please let me know.
    Judy

Firstly, this was an option you accepted during install. Unfortunately the default has this behaviour.
    > I would like to uninstall Photoshop Album Starter and return to PSP but I'm afraid, if I remove the program, I'll also remove my pictures.
Don't worry - your pictures will be OK. This won't fix the problem as you still need to reassociate any file types with PSP. Just right-click on a fil ein Windows Explorer, choose Open With, select PSP and check Always Open.

iTunes wont install.  It says "The program can't start because MediaAccessibility.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."  I have uninstalled iTunes 5 times and reinstalled it, and nothing has worked.  Help!!!!

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • When opening iTunes I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled, reinstalled many times - nothing! help please.

When opening iTunes on my new Windows 7 PC I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times to no avail, even tried it on a different user account and still nothing. I recently installed Panda Internet Security 2012 (about 12 days ago), initially iTunes worked fine as usual but within the last few days I've been  unable to open it with the same messages appearing. I've read through some of these pages and tried everything that's been advised, uninstalling and reinstalling while internet and laptop security is swithched off, downloading tools to completely remove anything related to iTunes, tried it in Safe Mode, nothing has worked. I've also noticed that in the start menu when I click on iTunes, it says '(empty)' where it should have the logo and ability to start the program, does this mean it doesn't download + install properly each time I've tried? Any help would be enormously appreciated.

Doublechecking. Have you also tried the following user tip?

I can't Start, Uninstall of Install new iTunes. I'm getting the same error message: "Window Installer Service could not be accessed". No other programs having similar problem. Any suggestions how to fix it?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) (not for XP) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
