Can't start photoshop no any error

My Photoshop stopped working. I couldn't start it. You click on the icon and nothing happen. I uninstalled and reinstalled software. Problem still not resolved.

HI Hashem,
To set a environment variable You need execute this:
example in unix systems: PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/ccs/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/ucb:
$ORACLE_HOME/dcm/bin:$ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin:.; export PATH
In windows systems, you have to go in My Computer (right-click) > properties > Advanced tab and click in Environment Variable. Over there you'll find User variables and system variable. In System Variable, look for a variable called PATH and click in edit. TO edit this variable we need to find out the correct ORACLE_HOME.
Another good test is to try execute a dcmctl command. Like: getstate -co HTTP_Server -v -d.
Could you try this?

Press and hold down the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after starting the launch of pse 2
Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to Delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File

  • Can't start Photoshop - 'Could not open a scratch file'

Hi, I recently installed Photoshop CS5, however every time I open the application, I am receiving this error message at the loading screen:
"Could not open a scratch file because the file is locked or you do not have the necessary access privileges. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to unlock the file or change permissions on the file or enclosing folders."
I've looked online for solutions everywhere, but I've obviously been unsuccessful and I'm at the point where I have no idea what else to try, other than a clean install of my OS, however that is a last resort as I currently do not have an external hard drive to transfer my files to do so. So far I have tried these things:
Reinstalled Photoshop many times, even the CS6 BETA is giving me the same error.
    Deleted preference files within /Library/Preferences/
Used the cmd+alt shortcut when starting Photoshop to select a different scratch disk location.
Used the cmd+alt+shift shortcut to delete the settings file, which I cannot do as the error message mentioned above appears before the window for deleting the settings file does.
Tried rebooting several times, even into safemode and I still get the same message.
Tried changing the permissions on the Applications folder, Adobe folder, CS5 folder and CS5 application, however they are all set to 'read & write access' for me. I am also set as an administrator.
Cleaned my cache of any unneccessary files.
I have also repaired my permissions using Disk Utility, but that didn't solve the problem.
I have a 2010 Macbook Pro, 4GB RAM running OS X Lion 10.7.3 with 2 patitions on my harddrive (OS X and Windows 7). I have 15GB free on my OS X partition currently, which may not seem like much, however I have run Photoshop CS5 previously as a trial and other versions of Photoshop and the small amount of harddrive space has never affected the software's ability to create a scratch file.
The strange thing, however, is that I can use Photoshop CS5 & CS6 on a guest account that I created recently, which means that the problem I am having is permissions based. Logging into a seperate account is a good enough solution for now, but it is incredibly tedious to keep changing accounts just to use Photoshop.
Has anyone got any other ideas? As I mentioned previously, reinstalling is a last resort as I currently don't have the neccessary resources.
    Thanks.

I managed to fix this myself, almost by accident, after failing every method suggested that I came across.
My problem was due to 'read only' access being set to some folders in ~/private/ on my main account, meaning that Photoshop could not create an important, temporary scratch file in this location.
To anyone else who comes across this thread due to having the same problem, here's the solution:
Open finder, then go to 'Go' in the menu bar and select 'Go to folder'
In the window that opens, enter '/private/' and click 'Go'
Then, right click on the folder 'tmp' within /private/ and select 'Get info'
In here, scroll to the permissions section and change the relevent user permissions to 'read and write'
Before closing this window, click on the gear icon underneath the list of users and select 'Apply to enclosed items' and hit 'Ok' in the next window.
Finally, repeat steps 3 - 5 for the folder named 'var', also within /private/ and you're done. Photoshop should now open as intended!
Although this solution was ideal for my home laptop, giving 'read and write' access to important folders like these can probably lead to lowered security so please do it at your own risk.

  • I can't start photoshop elements anymore

When I bought my laptop (a packard bell easynote) about a year ago, it included both photoshop elements and premiere elements version 9. I've been using these programs ever since. However, last saturday, suddenly neither of the programs would start. I can't get any further than the start screen and it doesn't show any error messages. Since the programs came with my laptop I don't have a serial number or any software, so I can't reinstall them. Any suggestions as to how I can resolve this issue?

It’s possible that you have made changes or installed new programs that have caused a conflict. You could try a system restore to an earlier date. But try one more thing.
Hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift Keys and right click on the exe file and choose open.
You should get the settings pop-up dialog.
Click yes and wait whilst elements re-builds the preferences.

If you can not use CS4 menu Help>Activate|Deactivate to get the install working again you may need to re-install CS4.

  • Can't start Photoshop without deleting preferences file

    Hi gang,
I have a Macbook Pro running Lion, OS X 10.7 that I purchased two months ago so it's relatively new. Just bought Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended and installed it on the computer a day ago. Software will not operate unless I hold option+command+shift when starting so that the preferences file is deleted. I'm hoping someone knows how to help me reset things.
I suspect that the problem stems from a plugin that I deposited into the plugins folder, because the software was working at first. I didn't piece this together until after the fact, but once I fired up the software a couple times after installing it, it worked fine each time. I noodled around and checked some things out to see what's new in CS5, then I went ahead and deposited a favorite plugin into the plugins folder. Things stopped working after this. Not positive the plugin is related, but thought I should mention it.
I removed the plugin of course, to no avail. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software three times. No difference. When I open the software without deleting the prefs file, it's just buggy and non-responsive. Can't start a new project, and thing just end up crashing every time. The software is useless without deleting the prefs file when firing it up.
Is there any hope of restoring things to normal? Thanks very much!

Are Photoshop and OS fully updated?
As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by keeping command-alt-shift pressed on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html
Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem.

  • Can't start Photoshop Subscription because of expired trial-version.

I tested the CS6 Photoshop Extended Trial-version and after it expired I bought "Photoshop CS6 Subscription Edition (monthly)". I downloaded and installed it. Now when I start it all I see is the "Trial expired"-window.
I tried de- and re-installing everything, tried cleaning the registry, tried the Adobe CS removal tool – nothing helped.
The "Trial expired"-window has a button to enter a serial number, but the monthly subscription didn't come with one – I checked all "My Adobe" subpages I could find. There wasn't a serial number in E-Mails either.
Hope someone can help, thanks alot!

I could finally fix the problem with the help of Adobe support. For everyone with the same problem:
    1. Deinstall Photoshop.
    2. Delete the following files (replace "Programme" with the Program Files-Folder of your language):
    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\caps\"caps.db"
    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\backup\"caps.db"
    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\caps\"media_db.db"
    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\"pcd.db"
    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache\"cache.db"
    3. Redownload and reinstall Photoshop.
    4. Start Photoshop and login with your Adobe-ID.
    Done!

    Hi Saab955C,
I wondered if something related to permissions might be the underlying cause.
You might try creating a new admin account, launching Photoshop from there and see if hitting the Participate button works.
