Can't start up Acrobat XI Pro

I just installed CS6 creative cloud. When I launch Acrobat XI Pro I get a blank "Adobe Software License Agreement" page, no text, just Quit and Accept buttons, and the Accept button doesn't do anything. What do I do now?

This is a known issue with Acrobat XI on MAC.
Problem: Mac OS only. On launch, a blank EULA screen appears, which cannot be accepted, and Acrobat does not run. This problem can appear if you have any products installed from CCM or from Creative Suite, and you tried installing Acrobat XI from a different source.
Workaround: Launch any other product which is part of the CCM or Creative suite. Then, deactivate it by choosing Help > Deactivate. Quit the application. Then, launch Acrobat and accept the EULA. Then, for the CCM subscription product, launch it and select License This Software to enable the CCM product again.

According to the product page for Acrobat Pro, no.  The earlier version included for upgrade is version 9.

  • Can I upgrade from Acrobat 11 Pro to DC Pro?

Can I upgrade from Acrobat 11 Pro to DC Pro?

    Hey marcp30425730,
If you are using Creative Cloud or Acrobat XI subscription, then you will get a free upgrade to Acrobat DC.
You can install and activate Acrobat DC subscription on your machine using the same Adobe ID credentials.
On the other hand, if you own Acrobat XI Pro, then you cannot use the same serial key to activate Acrobat DC.
You need to purchase a separate perpetual license for DC version, but you'll be qualified for a reduced price when purchasing the perpetual license.
Hope this information helps you. Let me know if you have further queries.
I would certainly help you out.

Which operating system are you using?  Do you receive any error messages?  Is this the trial of Adobe Acrobat X Professional or have you purchased the software?

  • Can't Install Updates Acrobat X Pro

Hello.  I am trying to install updates to Acrobat X Pro.  Every time I try to install from the Help - Check for Updates menu, I get the error:
Error 1321. Installer has insufficient privilages to modify the C:Program Files..... with some folder and file listed.
I am using Windows 7 and have changed the permissions to the Adobe folder and sub folders so that I am the owner.
If I try to start to run the Adobe Application Manager, I get an error that the Application Mangager failed to install.
Can you help me with this problem.
    Thank You.

When I was installing, I received a message saying,
"Error 1310. Error writing to file C:\Program Files (X86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\adistres.dll.  Verify that you have access to that directory."
Then it had a button for retry and when I hit it, it finished installing without any more errors.  My UAC always asks me to allow programs to make changes to the computer and when I allow, it's always fine.  I actually like this for added security.  I've never had an issue with any other program.

  • Can't Print from Acrobat 9 Pro on windows 7 64bit....

I have a windows 7 64-bit computer that can't print to any printer from Acrobat 9 Pro.  When you try to print I get the following error:
"print driver host for 32 bit application has stopped working"
Any thoughts, it's driving me crazy....

I'm having the identical problem and the only way I can get it to work is by not trying to change the title suggested by Acrobat for the PDF.
If I try printing from Firefox and pasting in a new PDF title, it crashes Firefox.

  • Why can I not install Acrobat XI Pro on a Windows 8.1/64 machine?

Acrobat X Pro is running, but when I try to install Acrobat XI Pro through Adobe Creative Cloud on a Windows 8.1/64 machine it fails near the end of the installation.  It indicates that it failed with 7 errors, but nowhere are the errors accessible.  Can anyone help?

Were you logged in as the administrator and did you have anti-virus disabled? CC may have some special installation requirements and you need to check the CC forum for such information.

  • Can I use Adobe Acrobat X Pro to batch convert v1.6 PDF files to v1.3?

Recently I have posted up a project so the contractor can read the text in the PDF and create hyperlinks from these text. These PDFs are in format of engineering drawings.
He informed me that he was going to use PHP to read the PDF text as javascript cannot.
He then asked me to convert the version of our current PDF files from v1.6 to a lower version: v1.3, because php cannot work with higher PDF versions.
So I found this PDF version converter: [link removed by forum host] but it only converts one by one. I have like a few hundreds of them, so I really need something to do batch convert.
Could anyone help me out here? We (the small business I am working at) do not have Adobe Acrobat X Pro but will buy it if it can do the job.
Otherwise could anyone advise me of any other software that can do this?
    Thanks heaps.

Yes, Acrobat XI Pro can do this very easily. You can create an Action that runs the PDF Optimizer tool, which can convert the file content so it's compatible with any earlier version of PDF (as well as other things). Actions can then be run against a folder of files.

  • Where can I download Adobe Acrobat X Pro?

I am moving from a dying laptop to a new desktop. I have a license for Adobe Acrobat X Pro but can only find the download link for XI.

if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-direct-download-links.html
    and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

  • "Capture 3D plug-in damaged" error upon start of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - Possible Fix

After installing Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0.332, I received a "capture 3d plug-in damaged" error every time the program started. Looking for remnants of SolidWorks in the registry found nothing.
Here's what fixed the problem for me:
I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. The following two entries in the registry were incorrect, with the default correct values shown:
    //===============
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
    "AppInit_DLLs"="acaptuser32.dll"
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls]
    "C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\acaptuser32.dll"=dword:00000002
    //===============
In the case of the first registry key, Kaspersky had previously entered several DLL's, separated by commas. When the Acrobat installer modified this key, it did not put a comma in front of "acaptuser32.dll", in effect making this dll invisible to Acrobat.
In the case of the second registry key, dword was found "1", I changed to "2".
It turns out that no repair of Acrobat was necessary, after all; just knowing where to look in the registry. No more error message on startup and the Capture3D tool works OK.
    I hope this helps others.

I have Windows 7.1 and Acrobat 9 Pro Extended  9.4.3. I started receiving the error message, but once I corrected the registry keys it started working. I had previously used the Acrobat 9 Pro Extended  repair option three times with no success.
The correct entry for me was:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
    "AppInit_DLLs"="acaptuser64.dll"
I did not need to modify the following as it was already there:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDl ls]
    "C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\acaptuser64.dll"="dword:00000001
    thanks,
    Roger

  • How can I update Adobe Acrobat 8 pro?

I am having some issues running Acrobat 8 pro on my new imac running 10.9 os.
It works mostly, but sometimes I can't see the PDF or can't open it if it is from a web site.
I tried to download and manually install the updates, but I get a message that the app is from an unidentified developer.
I downloaded it from Adobe web site.
8.3.1 is the latest version and it seems that each needs to be installed in sequence.
Shouldn't the software automatically check for updates and install them?
Do I need to upgrade to the latest acrobat pro?
    Thanks,
    Matt

You need to contact Adobe, it's their product so you need to ask them if it is designed to run with Mavericks.
