Can't stay signed in

Only in Safari on my mac, I cannot stay signed in after I quit Safari. At least Firefox saves my password, so I don't have to type it in every time I quit and then relaunch Safari. And I don't like to keep Safari open because it is a memory hog. Is there a way to enable this functionality (of auto-logging in or saving the password at least) in Safari?

Hi musicwind95!
If you mean logged in to  Discussions, the answer is no.
That is by design, as a security feature for members who use the same Apple ID for all functions of the Apple website, including iTunes Store accounts and transactions.

  • How can I stay signed in to Hotmail on the web

I am using an Ipad 4 and every time I close Safari and reopen It, I have to enter my username and password, and there is no box to tick to stay signed in.  I am more comfortable using hotmail through the web based platform rather than through the email app, so please don't suggest using that instead.
Does anyone know what's going on and how I can stay signed in?

Unless hotmail has an app or mobile interface (usually m.hotmail.com is the naming convention sites use) if there's no 'remember me' tick box, then there isnt' a way.
The lack of that box could be a security feature, but more likely that it's java based, which isn't supported on the iPad.
Have you tried to access it via another browser? There's some free ones out there that have different levels of functionality than Safari.

  • Can't Stay Signed on to My.Yahoo

Recently, on my iMac running Safari beta 4 I cannot stay signed to my.yahoo page. I checked the box to stay signed on for two weeks. I have cleared the cache and deleted all cookies to no avail. It used to stay signed on. Safari on my iPhone and PC at work do not have this problem. Any suggestions?

About all you can do is go to the Safari Menu Bar, select Safari/Report Bugs to Apple.

  • How can I stay signed in on Google?

Google is my home page and the little box to "stay signed in" is checked, but I have to enter my name and password every time. I read the articles about cookies but don't understand them. Can someone explain in simple English?

Do you stay logged in to Google as long as you are using the same window, but not if you access Google in a different window? That might indicate you are using the private browsing feature. This article has more information: [[Private Browsing - Browse the web without saving information about the sites you visit]].

  • I CAN NOT STAY SIGNED IN TO MY HOME PAGE!

Every time I start up Firefox it takes me to a generic iGoogle sign-in page and I have to enter my username and password to get to my iGoogle http://www.google.com/ig home page. This is already set in my General Tab under Tools.

  • How can I stay on the Support communities with out signing in all the time?

How can I stay on the Support Communities without signing in all the time?
    Thanks

You will be signed out as soon as you quit the browser, or within around 5-10 minutes of closing the window. The only way to stay signed in is to keep a window open all the time, either working in other tabs, or minimizing it and then going on with something else in a new window. It's a pest, but that's the way it is.

  • After updating to iOS 7 why can't I stay signed in at various sites?

After installing iOS 7 on my iPad 2 I am unable to stay signed in at all the various sites I subscribe to including media sites, retail sites and apps.  What do I need to do to remedy this.  I have never had a site not recognize me (obviously I check the keep signed in box).  Thanks for the help.

    Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Emails when i start firefox in all of my email logon i cannot automatically log they will stay signed in how can i fix this

HI when i start Firefox none of the sites [emails,Facebook etc.] that have ticked the stay signed in box will stay logged on and i have to click the OK button each time.
my question is how can i fix this
i have tried to reinstall and this did not work
i searched the options in Firefox
i cannot find out the right button to press that will solve my problem

-> Tap '''ALT''' key or press '''F10''' to show the Menu Bar
-> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted toolbars
-> go to Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on '''Cookies, Cache''' -> click '''Clear Now'''
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Privacy -> History section -> '''Firefox will: select "Use Custom Settings for History"''' -> REMOVE Checkmark from '''"Permanent Private Browsing mode"''' -> place CHECKMARKS on:
    1) Remember my Browsing History 2) Remember Download History 3) Remember Search History 4) Accept Cookies from sites -> select "Exceptions..." button -> Click "Remove All Sites" at the bottom of "Exception - Cookies" window
4a) Accept Third-party Cookies -> under "Keep Until" select "They Expire"
-> REMOVE CHECKMARK from CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES
-> When using the Location Bar, suggest: select "History and Bookmarks"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Offline Storage (Cache): click '''Clear Now''' button
-> Click OK on Options window
-> click the Favicon on SearchBar -> click "Manage Search Engines" -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click Remove -> click OK
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

  • Why does Googlemail not appear on the Start Page every time instead of going all through "more" and " even more etc, plus having to sign in even though I have ticked the Stay signed in box?

There is no consistency when one gets the Mozilla Firefox Start page. There is a line as follows :
Web Images Maps News Shopping Books more
To get Gmail one has to click on "more" which gets one a dropdown menu which ends in "even more" Clicking on this takes one to a page headed "Even More Google Products", including (Hurrah!) M Gmail.
Click on this and one gets the page where one signs in, even though I have ticked the box entitled " Stay signed in" and at last ones's e-mail page turns up. Very occasionally, instead of Books or Shopping on the Start Page "Gmail" is there which when clicked on takes one directly to one's e-mail.It seems a hell of a rigmarole just to get one's e-mail!

You can set Firefox home page to one of your choosing, see [[how to set the home page]].
If the keep me signed in option is not working, you may have a malformed cookie. Try deleting Google/Gmail cookies, for details on how to do that see [[deleting cookies]].

  • Adobe Reader makes me sign-in even though the STAY SIGNED IN box is checked.

I love the idea that I can view a document on my PC and as long as I'm signed-in I can later view it on my hand held device. But even though I check the STAY SIGNED IN box, whenever I close out of the program then come back I have to re-sign-in. Why won't Adobe keep me signed in as requested?

I run Kaspersky and will have to study whether it is responsible for the problem. Under its Protection Center / Application Control there are a lot of Adobe listings and then a lot of things to look at there; many of which I do not understand. So, you may be on to something Pat; but if anyone knows specifically what I should look at in Kaspersky (or elsewhere) to determine if a specific setting is eating my Adobe cookies ... I would appreciate the guidance where to look and how to fix.

  • Firefox 4 keeps asking to "Stay Signed In" to iGoogle (and how to fix it, kinda)

For some reason FF4 (Win 7) would automatically select "Stay Signed In" when I went to iGoogle's sign in. Problem is, it happened completely at random, and I'd often reopen Firefox to find it signed in.
So I went to iGoogle, right-clicked on the page, selected View Page Info > Permissions > Set Cookies, deselected "Use Default", and selected "Allow For Session".
Problem is, I had to turn off Google's 2-Step verification, or else I'd have to get a text message every time I logged in. Even when I ask it to remember the password for 30-days, it dumps the verification cookie right alongside the login.
Ideally, I'd like to find some way to get it to stop asking me to sign in ''without'' telling it to dump the iGoogle cookies when the session closes.

If files already have been downloaded then remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.<br />
You can also delete active-update.xml and possibly updates.xml (stores the update history).

  • How Do I Change My Forum Password;  How Do I Stay Signed In?

I posted about these issues in the Community Suggestion area of the board about two days ago, but have gotten no response.
Does anyone know how to change your password to this forum?  I've searched high and low for a link, but can't find it.
Also, most other forums I use allow me to stay signed-in, either permanently or for an extended period of time.  This forum requires I go to a separate sign-in page each and every time I visit the forum.  Real PITB.  Is there a way to stay signed in like one can on the other bazillion forums on the Internet?
Sorry if this is in the wrong area, but I'm hoping someone here knows the answers.
    Thanks,
    Rich

I looked and could not see  how to change a password but here is an idea.
Next time you log in use the WRONG password a couple times.  Then when they say, "look here dippy", did you forget your password, ask then to send it.  Usually when this happens you have to pick a new one.
I would like to stayed signed in too but have not found out how to do it.
