Can't Stop The Zoom

My problem is different than the other post concerning a zoom problem. Last night my screen suddenly went to an extreme zoom so that now I can see only a very small part of my desktop on the screen. My cursor is huge as is everything else on the desktop. I've rebooted several times and each time the computer boots and the screen looks normal and then about 5 seconds later it zooms in and I can't stop it. I even disconnected the keyboard in case it was malfunctioning and causing the zoom but that didn't have any effect. I'm running 10.4.7 but have been for about 6 months and this problem just started. What could be wrong and how do I fix it?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions Forum.
You may be looking at a defective display preferences file. Try getting into display preferences, and choose different resolutions to see if the zoom effect persists.
If you don't have any joy, try setting up another temporary account, log in via that account and see whether the problem disappears. If that's the case, then transfer all your material to the new account, and use that in future (you don't need to delete the old account).
If this still doesn't help, then try booting up the computer off a systems installation disk. If the problem is no longer there, then probably an "Archive and Install" on your main system will do the trick. (Back up your important data first, though.)
If none of these measures work, I'd be worried about a graphics card issue - which is a bad thing, as the card is integral with the motherboard. You would need to replace the entire motherboard.

Saturday afternoon, they called me AGAIN (yes, 3 sales calls in one day) to ask me to upgrade my DSL to FiOS. I told them AGAIN I wasn't interested, and that they'd called me three times that day.
I emailed a complaint, got a non-response with an invalid link asking for more information.
This morning, they called me yet again asking me to upgrade my DSL to FiOS. The sales rep said he could not connect me to customer service, and I kind of went off on him.
At this point, the only thing I can think of is to see if I can get my phone and DSL services thorugh another company, Verizon seems to have been bought out by a consortium of Nigerian bankers.

in the Project Properties (command-j), you can tell iM how to handle the initial photo placement method on import. out-of-the-box, iM is set to Ken Burns, but 'fit' should be your setting.
keep in mind:
iMovie doesn't allow a clip-length of 1-frame, which is needed for smooth action for stop-motion.
specialized tools as Boinx' iStopMotion (AppStore, 40$) or the free FrameByFrame do perhaps a (much) better job

An icloud account is designed to be used by one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
If you have muitiple family members or friends using the same account as yours, then have them get their own Apple IDs and icloud accounts.
If you mean you want to stop the sharing between all your devices, then on any one device, go to Settings>icloud and turn off the services you don't want that device to share/sync. Or turn off icloud altogether if that's what you want.

How can I control the zoom function on my mouse? In the middle of working on things my hand will rub the mouse by accident and all of a sudden the context within the screen is large. I have no idea of how to work this feature on my mouse and most times to get it to return to normal, I have to escape out of the work I am performing.

If you are pressing the "Control" button on the Mac keyboard, scrolling up will zoom in and scrolling down will zoom out. You can disable this if it annoys you through System Preferences > Universal Access. If you are using Mountain Lion, it would be System Preferences > Accessibility.
Uncheck the in the "Seeing" or "Zoom" section that says "Use scroll gesture with modifier keys to zoom". It may be slightly different if you have an older OS X version. I have Mountain Lion and am going off of memory on the older versions.

This should always be set to zero unless a specific set of circumstances exist and you're audio drivers do not report position correctly.
On occasion, usually when importing a Logic 9 project, Logic-X randomly changes this to a negative/positive number. It's actually a bug in Logic, as it should always display the waveform.

Refunds on downloaded software are virtually nonexistent.
I have had cases where I purchase software on a physical disk. If I don't like the software I can uninstall it from my computer and sell it legally. Recouping most of my loss.

Each time I try to download a file document (ie. PDF), foxfire begins to open multiple new tabs, and wont quit. it also never really opens the file , and I can't stop the action unless I log off.

I am unable to download any files without multiple new tabs opening at the top of my screen. I am unable to identify what the tabs are for and can't stop the process without logging off Foxfire completely. FoxFire has also corrupted other files and made them impossible to download (saved files)

To take a screenshot of the zoomed photo, press either the key combination
⇧⌘3 for a screenshot of the full screen, or
⇧⌘4 to bring up a selection rectangle: select the section of the screen, that you want to save.
The screenshots will be sent to your desktop; drag them from there to the iPhoto icon in the Dock to import them.

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Tru importing from your camera to it and to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

iPhoto seems to be viewing the iPod as a camera. Therefore go to iPhoto's General preference pane and select No application in the Connecting camera opens: menu.
