Can't Stream Apple Events in QuickTime?

I'm having difficulty playing the Apple Events live stream in QuickTime. When I click the button to open it, the file opens, and then I get the white screen with the QuickTime logo and the moving dots below it. The movie never loads.
This occurs on both my Intel Mac mini and my iBook. Any solutions?

I have the same problem on my machine. Has always been this way, even after upgrading to QT 7.1 today and also after buying QT Pro. Other things, like movie trailers work OK, but I can never watch any of the Apple Events. I have to use my IBM Thinkpad from work to watch these videos. Ouch!

I have a peculiar problem which started seemingly out of the blue. I can not stream any trailers on the Apple trailer website and neither can I see any Apple ads. Basically when I click on the video in question, the video window pops up and the audio begins to play, but there is no image except the spinning wheel on a white background. I tried re-installing Quicktime from the snow leopard dvd to no avail. Anybody can help?

Same issue here, on OS 10.6.7 and Firefox 4. I see the player controls, and I can hear audio, but no video loads.

There was a site that had gotten all the event movies and had posted them, but they were removed by Apple. I don't think there's anywhere you can actually download the movies from, though most can still be streamed from pages on Apple's site.

I always watch the apple events on quicktime, but usually after they occur. Where do I go to watch tomorrow's 'One more thing...' event live? Today I attended the live Q4 conference call live, but only because I got the link from macdailynews. Where do I go for tomorrow?

To the best of my knowledge, Apple is not providing a live broadcast of the event. Certainly not over the Internet, and not even in the Apple Stores that I've seen.

WWDC 2013 was streamed live. I'm not sure if that was the first Apple event that was streamed live for iOS devices.
I started watching it on my Mac and later finished it on my iPhone.
I'm assuming this event will be live as well. In the past, tech websites would run a live blog of the event.

No, I would recommend getting a Roku. Apple doesn't allow Hulu Plus or HBO GO.

I currently have 1 Apple TV device at home. I'm thinking of buying a second one to keep in my office at work across town. My concern is this: my kids love streaming purchased movies and TV shows at home during the day while out of school. I know ATV isn't that expensive, but I would like to avoid duplicating purchases on a new iTunes account just so both locations can be streaming at the same time. Anybody know if this is possible?

You would have to use airplay within iTunes then, unless you want to use 3rd party software (ie Beamer)

You'll need to make sure you have the new black small AppleTV and not the original one.
If you do have the new one, you can make sure to do any of the software updates from the settings menu (I think.. I don't have one to reference).

Basically iTunes feeds AppleTv with media either syncing (copying to it) or streaming live.
Media must be compatible with AppleTV.
AppleTV requires a proper iTunes instance running - it cannot access a NAS directly.
If you store media in a folder on a NAS and it's part of the computer iTunes library (just stored on the NAS vs internal/external drive), then when running iTunes makes this content available to AppleTV.
Data will travel:
NAS > network > iTunes > network to AppleTV
As the path is potentially slower than internal/external attached drive > iTunes > network > AppleTV, it may or may not work robustly for streaming.
If AppleTv is set to sync (it can also stream in this mode), when you purchase direct on AppleTV, the media should sync back to where the itunes library is stored (via iTunes) to keep things in sync and to allow you to backup the media.
You cannot drag/drop media to/from AppleTv across the network, nor can it directly access storage itself - iTunes is an essential cog in the wheel.
The majority of commercial 'in-built iTunes media servers' will not work directly with AppleTV as it has to be 'paired' with iTunes by entering a numerical code in iTunes and does not simply see 'shared libraries'.
