Can't subscribe to invite to share iCloud calendar.

Received email invitation to join iCloud calender via my aol account.  Hit subscribe tab but nothing happened.  I have a HTC phone and also have a gmail acct and use Windows 7. Any suggestions as to what can be done?

Sharing an icloud calendar privately, between two users for example, requires both users to have iCloud accounts.

  • HT203521 In iOS8 I can't turn off shared iCloud calendar alerts. I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and am constantly getting their alarms for upcoming appointments. Settings- Notifications- Calendar- Shared Calendar Changes turns off changes only.

Have had new iPhone 6 for 2 months, using iOS 8.  I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and I am getting bombarded with their upcoming appointment alerts.  There seems no way to turn this off.  I went to Settings->Notifications->INCLUDE(Calendar)->Shared Calendar Changes and turned everything off, but this only blocks alerts about new events or changes to events being added to the calendars, it does not block the 5-minute/10-minute/etc. alarms that go off immediately in advance of the appointment.  There used to be a setting in iOS7 in "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" way at the bottom to turn off alarms from shared calendars, but I don't see that in iOS8.  Any ideas?

Finally figured this out when I read jodiemcneill 's post about Google calendars.  Thanks!
Reposting the basic idea: to turn off event alerts from shared ICloud calendars, select the Calendar App, then click the "info" (i.e., the circled red 'i') icon next to the shared iCloud calendar to be silenced. Go down to "Notifications" and turn the slider off for "Event Alerts: (Allow events on this calendar to display alerts.)"
For good measure, you can also turn off the slider for "Show Changes" to prevent the calendar from displaying messages when shared events are added/modified/deleted, although this can be done "globally" for all shared iCloud Calendars in Settings->Notifications->Calendar->Invitations (turn off all sliders, click "none" for Alert Style).
This has been a major pain in the ... neck ... for the past 3 months.  So glad to start the new year with a suddnely-much-quieter iPhone 6.

  • Why when an invitation to share a calendar is accepted does it appear as tentative and not show up in calendar list?

I've sent an invitation to shar a calendar.  The invitation appeared in receiver's notifications and was accepted. However, the calendar is not appearing on the receiver's calendar list, and when I check my "sharing settings" the address is not checked as received by appears with a question mark to indicate tentative. How is that even possible when the invitation is only decline or accept?  I sent the samereceiver an invitation to a different calendar at the same time.  It was received, accepted and appears on the calendar list with a checked box and so appears on the receiver's calendar. Both calendar invitations were sentfrom the same computer, from the same sender, on the same day to the same receiver.  Both appeared in the receiver's notifications, both were accepted, one successfully and the other not.  Help.  I'm out of ideas.

Sorry if my explanation of the problem was not clear, but the HD's are fine. I have checked them using fsck, disk warrior, TechTool Pro. they are fine. The drives are not showing up at all, and SATA shows "no information" Once in a while SATA will start working again briefly, then just GO AWAY! And the PCI SATA card I installed acts the same way. I am leaving one HD in the logicboard and one in the PCI card and they both go away (not the whole PCI card, just the HD).
    Thanks for the reply.
OK, since you are also having things go away with the PCI SATA controller, this could be a problem with either (a) PCI-X bridge or (b) the U3 Memory controller, as they are the two things in the chain between the CPU and where you are having the problems.
Do you have other PCI cards in use? If so, then if you lose contact with them, that would be a clue.
On the other hand, you seemed to indicate that even when the Tempo lost the HD, you could still see the Tempo in System Profiler? If the Tempo is still shown in profiler, then, we have a real mystery on our hands. Of course, a system log file wouldn't help because you have lost it, unless you are booting from an external FW drive.
    Watson, the game is afoot.

  • Share iCloud calendar with Google Calendar

Ok, so I'v moved all my contacts, email and calendars to iCloud and everything is wonderfull.
I share a few calendars with my girlfriend and she is sharing her study calendar with me.
We have a shared calendar set up, where we enter when our son is in daycare and we have another shared calendar with things we do together.
    Now comes the tricky question:
How do we share our icloud calendar showing our sons day in the daycare, with our parents who don't have any Apple devices and only uses google calendar?
Reason for this is, we live in the same city, and sometimes they want to go and pick up our son. With a shared calendar like that, they would just be able to write a note in their synced google calendar saying that they are going to pick up our son, and we would see it in our synced icloud calendar.
Also, my girlfriend only have an old-school cellphone. She is now finnaly getting a smartphone through her work.
Only problem I see comming with this, is that her phone is not going to be an iPhone.
So how do we keep sharing all our icloud calendars with her on a windows phone 7.5?
Is the Apple ecosystem finaly getting so clamped up, that it won't allow users who happen to have frinds or family without i-products, to share their life with them?
As everything stands now, I'm getting the feeling that Apple demands me to buy Apple products to all my family and frinds, just so that we can still interact and plan our different lives through shared calendars on icloud.
    Can this really be right?
I hope I'm just missing something. Cause I really thought, that icloud would be this outstanding product which would make my cloud-life the easiest thing in the world. Instead, it really seems to be a step back, in the cloud evolution.

    Thanks for your answer..
it dosn't really solve my problem, since I'm not interested in only sharing a calender on the web.
My wish is to sync my calendar with friends and family that are not using icloud, and not using apple product at all.
For example: My girlfriend, how finaly is getting a smartphone, needs some way to add and edit our shared calendar, so that we can both enter and edit appointments.
Same goes for my parrents, that whants to be able to set appointments of when they want to pick up our son at the daycare.
All this is possible, and has been possible for ages with other online calendar systems, so why does apple take a step down the evolutionstaires by disabling such a great feature?
Though MobileMe was not perfect, it did infact make this possible as I remember, so why can't this be done in iCloud?
You can subscribe to CalDav on your i-device, but you can't share one with friends, in what world is that logic?

  • How do I resend an invitation to share a calendar after the person initially declined?

I wanted to share a calendar with my wife, and sent her a invitation to share, but then realized I wanted to change the name of calendar beforehand, and asked her to decline the request. After I changed the name and resent the request, iCalendar (on my laptop, and on icloud.com) immediately changes the invite to declined. It would seem that after one decline, the system is thinking the invite is spam or something and is blocking the request from going through.
Is there a way to reset this so that I can send a new request?
    Thanks.

Easiest way (after having to deal with this issue myself), is to go back into the event, remove the invitees completely, and save the event.  Then open the event back up, and add the invitees once more, and save the event.  They'll then receive a brand new invite for the same event, with any changes that you've made.

  • Share icloud calendar with google calendar users

I know that this has been asked before, but I can find no official response from apple to the question of how to share my icloud calendar with google calendar users (or frankly, anyone not using icloud)
Can anyone point me to an official response to this surprising intransigence?
    cheers
    Ben

It is a 2 way sync, enter the event on the iCloud calendar (in Google) and it will be there when you view the calendar in iCal, or Google or at the iCloud website.
Do you know how to publish to Google in BusyCal?

  • Can my secondary email address be used to receive invitations to share a calendar?

I currently have an @me.com email address for my ID. I never use this address, but have another address that is widely known.
Some colleagues want to share calendars via private sharing. They sent the invitation to my usual address, so I cannot connect to my iCloud which has the me.com ID.
If I add my better known email address to my iCloud account, will I then be able to receive the invitations?
I do not want to have my me.com account available for active use.

When you "added" your Apple ID, was that in the iCloud/Find My iPhone settings? If you acquired the iPhone from someone else and they had previously set up iCloud with their own Apple ID, they need to remove the iPhone from their iCloud account. Until they do, you will not be able to activate the iPhone.
If that's not what you meant, please clarify exactly what is occurring.
    Regards.

  • Can't share iCloud calendar with another user

I'm trying to share one of my iCluod calendars with another person with an iCloud account. The green "share" button is active, but when I click on it, the popup says that the calendar is owned by me, but does not display the "share with" field. What do I need to do to turn sharing on for that calendar?

There's nothing to stop you both setting up the same account, though there's a risk the server won't let you both use it concurrently.
You'll both need to use IMAP if your colleague is to be able to see the results of your activities.
An alternative is for you to assume total ownership of the colleague's account, do your triage and then send on approved messages to a new account set up for your colleague purely for this arrangement. Mail Redirect would allow you to pass messages to your colleague which would appear to have come directly from the original sender, whereas regular email forwarding loses the provenance.

  • Invitation to Share a Calendar Shows UID Instead of User Name

    Hello Everyone!
My Open Directory users are able to share calendars to eachother, however when the invitation comes through to be accepted, instead of Calendar saying:
"Tim Timmers" invited you to a shared calendar.
    it says:
/principles/_uid_/9BBCC.....etc./ invited you to a shared calendar.
Essentially the user name is being replaced with the UID of the user's calendar data location when viewing the invite.
Has anyone encountered this same issue or have any clues to how to fix this?
OD is running, users have proper email addresses associated with their OD account and the invitation can be accepted like normal.
    We're running OS X Server 10.8.2, server app 2.1.1
    Thanks for the help!

    (Me too post)
I have the same issue in two different environments/networks. The first is just as you describe, an OD with networked accounts, the other network has only server local accounts.

  • Not receiving icloud calendar invites or calendar sharing

I am so sorry to bring this up but I have gone through discussion after discussion and nothing seems to be working for me! This is the first time I have ever posted so any help would be greatly appreciated.
My apple ID is a hotmail.com account and it is no longer receiving calendar invites or invites to share a calendar. They worked perfectly up until around the end of January 2013 as far as I can see so this appears to be a problem that has appeared in the last couple of weeks
I have tested it with some friends and it appears that some of my invitations are working when I send them out but it appears to be hit & miss (Last night I invited someone to share my calendar and they received the invite- when they invited me I did not receive anything)
I have changed my password on appleid so it meets the new security guidelines,
I have checked my appleid to ensure that there are no other unverified e-mail addresses linked to my account,
Both my iphone and ipad have had the latest updates (iOS 6.1.2)
I have changed my appleid to a different hotmail address and then changed it back to the original one and the invites did not work.
I have logged into icloud.com on my PC but no new invites have appeared on there.
Syncing of my calendar, reminders, safari and contacts etc is still working fine between my iphone and my ipad.
Please let me know if any more detail is needed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

Are you still experiencing the issue?? Have you called Applecare?

  • How do i get calendar invites to open and update icloud calendar instead of my local outlook account?

I recently started using iCloud for my calendar and have installed the MS Outlook iCloud plug in, but whenever I receive calendar invitations in any of the mail accounts I have configured in Outlook, only my local calendar on my computer is being updated.   How do I set up Outlook to have incoming calendar invitations update my iCloud calendar?   I even tried opening the iCloud website, but all calendar items there also show up as .ics files, which automatically open in MS Outlook on my computer and again update only my local calendar (personal folders).   I also tried setting the default data file in MS Outlook to the iCloud data file, but when I did that, Outlook gives an error message advising against setting the iCloud calendar as the default.   I'm at a total loss and would GREATLY appreciate any advice anyone might be able to provide.    Thanks to all for your time!

    Hi Marknoon,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
In order to resolve this issue where you are unable to use iCloud calendars in Outlook, please follow the steps below, ensuring you follow them in order and testing after each step.
Troubleshooting on Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Outlook)
If you're having trouble with iCloud Calendar on a PC (with Outlook 2007 or later), try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved.
Note: iCloud Control Panel does not support Outlook 2010 Personal Edition. When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual menu (right-click) has also been disabled.
Verify that you are using a Windows configuration supported by iCloud.
Make sure that your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Outlook. Learn about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Outlook requires port 443 access to iCloud to push and fetch updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Control Panel window. Learn about setting up iCloud on Windows.
Close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
Make sure that iCloud is not your default account in Outlook:
In Outlook 2013 and 2010, select File > Info > Account Settings > Data Files. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account and click Set as Default.
In Outlook 2007, select File > Data File Management > Data Files. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account and click Set as Default.
If you recently made changes in Outlook and they are not updating on your other devices or vice versa, click the Refresh button in Outlook.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Close Outlook.
    Open the iCloud Control Panel:
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow  in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, then click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Deselect the checkbox next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks, and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then replace the checkmark and click Apply.
Open Outlook and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Make sure that the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook. (Learn more about managing Add-ins with Microsoft Outlook.)
    Outlook 2013 and 2010:
    Open Outlook 2013 or 2010.
    Click the File menu.
Click Options in the left panel of the Outlook window.
Click Add-Ins in the left panel of the Outlook Options window.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
    Outlook 2007:
    Open Outlook 2007.
From the Tools menu, choose Trust Center.
Select Add-ins from the left column.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it reinitializes your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
Note: When enabling Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks in the iCloud Control Panel, part of the setup process is to copy your Calendars data from the default Outlook .pst file to iCloud, then remove the Calendars from the .pst file by placing them in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. The Calendars data is then stored in the iCloud data set within Outlook so that changes can be pushed to and from Outlook by iCloud. Make sure that you're looking for your data within the iCloud folder in Outlook after enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel. The deleted files can be seen by viewing Deleted Items within your Outlook Folder List. This is not iCloud removing your data. iCloud simply copies your data into the iCloud data set and then removes the local Calendars data by placing it in the Deleted Items folder.

  • Cannot accept invites from notifications in iCloud Calendar & no notifications in iCal on iMac

    Hi,
I do not get notifications for invites on Calendar application on iMAC ?
I do get invite notifications on iCloud Calendar, but when I try to accept I get an error message "Cannot save invitation reply" and so I cannot accept.
    Please advise

    I have the same problem.
I get Gmail email with the outlook invite from business associates. New 5c won't let me accept or decline.  A cascade of problems follows:
The sender and all others do not know if I'll be attending, no reply can go out on my phone.
I have to sign in on my gmail from a computer which I don't always have thus delaying.
If I need to reply asap I have to do so via an email. This makes more work for sender and affects my credibility.
I don't know all meeting attendees and can't email them all so they're left in the dark.
I have to manually put in all info to my calendar - which we know increases work, decreases efficiency and increases likelihood for error.
This is a BIG problem. Help please!!

  • HT2480 Inviting to share calendar

I work in an office where I'm the only Apple user. At first, I was synced up with the office email on my MacBook, iPhone, and iPad but now that we're on MS Outlook and Exchange I'm out of the loop. I'm able to get my email again and I can receive invites to share others calendars but I don't know how to share my calendar with others.  I'm sure there's a simple solution I'm missing. Any suggestions or tips?

    Hi,
Do you mean other users who share calendar to this user cannot view his name in Properties > Permission from Outlook?
Please confirm whether he can view or edit the shared calendar to verify the permission is assigned successfully or not. If the permission setting is successful, please check whether he is listed in OWA view.
If the calendar permission cannot be shared correctly with him in Outlook, we can try running the following command in Exchange side to set permission:
Add-MailboxFolderPermission –identity [email protected]:\Calendar -User ThisUser -AccessRights Editor

  • How can I import my Google calendar to iCloud calendar via web or ios?

I've decided I want to move from contacts/calendar in gmail to icloud. I was going to do the same with mail, but it seems iCloud doesn't have the level of functionality that gmail does.
My problem is that all instructions for importing my gmail calendar into icloud require some sort of desktop (I use PC) mail/calendar program. I don't use one. I manage my mail & calendars purely on my iphone or on the website(s). How can I import my .ics file into iCloud calendar via either the iCloud web interface or via my iPhone?

The only possible way I could imagine it might work ( can't guarantee it ) is as followed.
#1 Your Google Calendar is synced with your iphoen and you go into settings to turn it off.
#2 It will ask you: "What would you like to do with excisting local calendars on your iphone", you click keep them on iphone.
#3 Now you sync your empty icloud calendar with your iphone and hopefully the local calendar would sync on your icloud calendar?
Might work...not sure, play around with the settings in the iphone calendar app etc...
