Can't switch around playlist order

I know this happened before. I realized I had the Artist column selected to be alphabetized so that prevented me from switching the order of the songs. This time nothing is selected. How the hec do I change the order? Thank you!!

Open the playlist and click on the top of the number column (extreme left) to highlight the header. Click on the song you want to move, hold down the mouse button and drag the song to where you want it to be. Make sure neither Shuffle or Repeat are switched on in the playlist, either of those can prevent you reordering tracks

  • Cannot move around playlist order in Media Source Organi

I am trying to arrange my order of tracks in the Organizer window
of the sofware. I read the "help" and did I think what it says to do..
Just drag them around in the organizer window..When I try to do this,
it does not allow..get a circle with line through it on moving mp3..
    What am I doing wrong..
    Thank in advance

Actually yes you can re-organize the tracks you want them to appear in Creative MediaSource Software, I have the Zen Micro 5 Gig, I just pull & drag and it just moves (eventhough they have the circle thing with the line through, just ignore that and proceed with dragging and dropping of your files).
I don't know how to explain but you could experiment.

Everytime I try to sync my mac calendar with icloud, the times get switched around and I can't retrieve them.  Now I no longer know what time my appointments really are. I'm not sure what you mean by the times get switched around, but you migh check on both mac and device in the Time & Date section of preferences/settings to be sure they are both in the same time zone.

  • How can I copy a playlist in order to ipod shuffle

I am tryig to copy a playlist to the iPod shuffle and can't manage to cophy it in the same order.  I have selected "manually manage music" and I have turned off shuffling in the device.  I have tried everything, from copying the songs one by one, to copying the playlist manually.  I don't succeed and have no idea how it determines in which order to place the songs.  Help !!!!

If you are using the Manually manage music setting, select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES.  Click the little triangle next to the shuffle, so that it points down.  You should see the shuffle's "content" indented under the shuffle.
Right-click on the shuffle and select New Playlist.  A new playlist should appear (which you can name), indented under the shuffle.  When you drag songs to the shuffle, instead of dragging them to the "overall" shuffle, drag them to this playlist.  When you select this playlist under the shuffle, on the list to the right, you can drag the songs around to set the playlist order.
NOTE:  If your playlist already appears indented under the shuffle, you don't need to do the above because you have already set up your playlist on your shuffle.
When you use your shuffle, in order to play the songs in playlist order, you need to switch to that playlist.  If you play the songs from the All Songs list (with the shuffle set to play-in-order), I believe they play in alphabetical order.  It switch playlists, you use the VoiceOver button (press and hold).  You can refer to this article for instructions on enabling and using VoiceOver
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4322
The sections Changing playlists and To choose an item from the playlist menu explain how to switch between playlists on the shuffle.  Even if you only have ONE playlist on the shuffle, there is a separate All Songs list.  You must be playing from the playlist to get the songs to play in playlist order.

  • Can I use CreatePDF to switch around the pages within a single pdf document that scanned wrong?

I understand CreatePDF would allow me to combine documents into a single pdf file.  But, (1) can I move around (switch/correct the order of) pages within a single PDF file?  (2) Can I delete pages from a single file or a combined file?  (3) Once created, can I edit the file in any way?  If these services were available, I would likely subscribe.  I don't want to subscribe without knowing.

Thanks for your reply.  Pardon my ignorance. Acrobat would allow me to move pages around?

  • Sometimes when I play songs in Itunes by double clicking on them, Itunes will place the song as the first one on the album.  It will chnage the order of the songs on the album, and I can not switch them back to the correct order.

Sometimes when I play songs in Itunes by double clicking on them, Itunes will place the song as the first one on the album.  It will chnage the order of the songs on the album, and I can not switch them back to the correct order.  This onloy seems to happen when I double-click on the song to play it in itunes.  If I just hit play, this doesnt happen.  As a result, I have several albums now in which the songs are in the wrong order.  Its very frustrating, as this error then transfers over to my ipod every time I sync it.  When I choose the info. for the songs, it has them correctly listed (i.e., it lists the songs as being #1 of 19 on the CD, for example).  But then the song will have placed by Itunes as #5 of 19 for whatever reason.  Itunes does not do this every time, but does it with enough frequency to be maddening.  Any thoughts?

The problem of tracks becoming de-linked between iTunes and the music files in your iTunes music folder happens for different reasons - this seems to come up fairly commonly in this forum.
The solution can be to locate each song in the iTunes library, as you mentioned - or, but wait, before I get to that...
trouble finding the original track in your iTunes music folder? maybe look for it under compilations, or if not using the 'group compilations preference' then look in the folder under the songs artist name, but what song artist name iTunes uses depends on what you have in the metedata tag spot for album artist or song artist. Any varyation in artist name spelling, in the menu item 'get info' metadata for any selected individual track will cause iTunes to create that as a separate artist folder in the library, even names like 'various' or any difference at all (even the word 'the' can change where in your iTunes music folder a track gets placed by iTunes). You can try to use the finder function of find file (finder munu item outside of iTunes) to locate hard to find items.
Back to how to re-link any de-linked tracks .
There may be scripts that can help re-link de-linked music files - or, at least provide you a list of such files, Scripts are easy to install and use...
at Dougs Scripts, there is one called iTunes Track CPR that might work
    http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=itunestrackcpr
or, if you just want a list of de-linked tracks, go to
    http://dougscripts.com/itunes/
and find the script called List MIA's, this will create a text file listing all de-linked tracks

  • How can I gift a playlist, with the songs in the order I choose?

How can I gift a playlist, with the songs in the order I choose, to a bunch of other people? Since iTunes won't allow me to burn a song more than a few times to disc, and I have to share playlists with my cover band (so we can learn songs), I need the capability to do this.

Drag them from where? I've tried to drag them from windows explorer and it won't allow me. It seems the only place I can drag files from is from the iTunes library list. The problem is there is no way that I can find to just see the songs from a specific folder on my drive in the iTunes library list. It sorts them by artist, album, genre, etc....but not by folder.

  • I want to order a second copy of an iPhoto book. Thought created in the smaller format only the larger format is showing. How can I switch an existing iPhoto book back to the smaller format?

I want to order a second copy of an existing iPhoto book. Though created in the smaller format now only the larger format is showing. How can I switch an existing iPhoto book back to the smaller format?

To change a book size duplicate it (select the book in the source pane and press command and D) since text flow and picture  placements can change due to the size differences - then click on change themes, select the same theme and the new size
    check it carefully
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.

  • IPod: Can I designate specific playlists I want to play in order/shuffle?

With either the newer or older version of the iPod, is there a way I can designate a specific playlist to play in order or shuffle? I know with iTunes you can specify what playlists you can shuffle and ones that you don't. It's the iPod that I'm interested in finding out. I have several playlists that I want to keep in a particular order and there are others that I can shuffle them. Is it a "all or nothing" arrangement?

It's two completely different actions, so one is not "better" than the other.
There is no Shuffle on/off on the main menu.
This simply plays all songs in random order.
Nothing else will be shuffled if you play it.
It you want to listen to all the songs on the iPod without them being shuffled, press Play.
If you want to shuffle aything else, you must go to Settings -> Shuffle - Songs (or album).
This way I'll have my playlists back in order when I remove the shuffle feature.
The playlists do not get "out of order". The songs are simply played in a random order. If you turn shuffle on and view the playlist, it will be in the exact same order as with shuffle being turned off.

  • How can I get my ipad to reflect the same playlist order that appears on my computer?

How can I get my ipad to reflect the same playlist order that appears on my computer?  My computer has the exact desired order of playlist, but once the system is synced, the ipad does not reflect the propper order.

In iTunes with your playlist shown in the correct order, right-click on the playlist name in the side-bar and click Copy to Play Order. Enable the side-bar with CTRL+S if necessary. Sync. Note also that the column you are sorting on should have the small triangle pointing upwards, otherwise the songs will play in the reverse order. You may also find that you need to first remove, and then add back the playlist to the device if syncing doesn't update it properly. See this post for more.

It should turn a darker grey colour.

Once you get your S/N and download the software, back them up to a CD or backup HD. Not doing that is like purchasing a CD, installing software, and tossing the CD in the trash.
