Can't sync albums from new location

Hi I moved all my photos to a secondary drive (all in the one structure) and tried to sync them to iTouch and iPhone from there. From the old "MyPictures" folder I can sync that older and select whatever subfolders I want as albums but from the new location the only way I can get the photographs to load across is to sync from the album level which means I can only ever have one album - itunes just locks in sync mode (all night) and wont transfer.
Any suggestions?

Why not? What happens when you try to sync?  Are you trying to sync with the same computer you normally sync it with or is this a new/different iTunes library?

  • How can i sync albums from ITouch to new computer?

My music Library is on my computer back home (Scotland), i am in Australia and want to get all my music on to laptop im using here.
If i sync it says it will only copy over items i have purchased from ITunes store and will clear my Itouch of the rest of my music.
Same goes if i copy CD's on to this computer, how can i get it on to the ITouch without losing the music i have on it already??
    Can anyone help??
    Kxx

Try one of the third-party utilities such as Floola or Senuti - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
iPod Touches are one way sync devices. You sync music TO the Touch, NOT FROM the Touch. By design an iPod device is not intended to be used for transferring data between computers. Third-party software such as mentioned above is intended to overcome this limitation but on a limited basis.
Unfortunately, your iTunes library folder in Scotland has everything you synced to your Touch. If you now try to sync from a different computer and your library is no longer present, iTunes will attempt to erase everything on the Touch assuming you intend to do a completely different library sync. Obviously this is not your intended result. With any luck you can re-create your iTunes library using the third-party software that's available. Hope you are successful.

  • Can't sync album from iphoto 9.4.1 to iphone 5

I can't seem to be able to sync my photo albums onto my new phone.  I back up to the cloud but I believe you have to sync with your computer to get your photo albums on your phone.  So I selected the name of my photo album and sync but nothing happens.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

You sync your albums and projects to your iPhone with iTunes:

how can i sync music from my phone onto my new computer without losing it all? my old computer's hard drive crashed so it is unusable.

If you do not have a back up of the crashed hard drive you can download an app to copy from the iPhone to iTunes on the new hard drive.
I have used Pod2Mac.  There is also Pod2PC.
There are numerous choices, some free, some payed.  Do a Google search.

  • Can't sync playlists from ipod touch to new computer

Can't Sync Playlists from iPod Touch to New Library
I just upgraded from an old Pentium computer to a new Dell XPS 18 running Windows 8.1.  Downloaded latest version of iTunes to the new computer, then successfully transferred library content from the old computer to the new one via the external hard drive method.  All material -- iTunes purchases, music ripped from CDs, a movie, even MP3 files purchased long ago from another source -- transferred successfully; everything plays on the new computer just fine.
My problem is that the "old" playlists didn't transfer over.  After connecting my iPod Touch to the new computer, I verified that the iPod has the latest version of iOS, and its content (including the old/original playlists) displays in the window on the left-hand side of the iTunes screen.  The really frustrating thing is that I can find no way to transfer the old playlists to my new iTunes library.  I've tried dragging and dropping, selecting and pasting, and exploration of all the options menus, but no luck.  Creating a new playlist in the new library and then clicking on the "Add To" button opens up a window into which to drop dragged songs/folders from the new library listing, but simultaneously closes the left-hand display window with all of my iPod's current playlists depicted.
I appear successfully to have backed up my iPod to the new computer, but all the sync menu options are grayed out.  When I tried clicking on the Sync button, I got a warning that syncing to the new library would erase everything from the old library -- presumably obliterating my playlists with it.  I have about a dozen different playlists, some of them with several hundred songs, drawn from a library of a few thousand individual items.  Is there some means of importing/transferring the old playlists to the new computer/library, so that I don't manually have to drag and drop hundreds and hundreds of songs into a new set of playlists?  Am I overlooking something really obvious or simple?  Can I safely turn on Home Sharing and then import or paste the old playlists into the new computer's library.  I don't think I'm too much of a Luddite, but given the size of my library I'm very leery of turning on Home Sharing (to the old Pentium computer) after I've successfully transferred over many GBs of content from the old machine to the new.
    Thanks very much --

  • How can i sync numbers from my iPad to my new iMac?

how can i sync numbers from my ipad to my new imac?

If you mean spreadsheets from within the Numbers app on your iPad to your computer's iTunes then there are instructions here. If you mean that you want to copy the Numbers app from the iPad to your computer then you can copy it to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases; but if you want to use Numbers on your Mac then you will need to buy the Mac OS X version.

  • HT201313 Can you sync photos from the new Photos app to your iPhone?

With the new update and with apple moving away from iPhoto is it still possible to sync the photos from the Desktop Photos app to the iPhone like we used to be able to thru iPhoto? Right now it seems like I can only sync directly from folders on my computer.

Ah. Thanks for the help. Turns out I just had to restart iTunes for Photos to show up.

  • Sync albums from multiple libraries??

    Hi,
I use multiple iPhoto libraries to faster handle my photos with the app, iPhoto Buddy. Does anyone know how I can sync albums from different libraries with my iPod photo?? I'm out of ideas...
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I figured out a way to do it. For anyone having the same issue...
Create a main folder to store photos for your iPod-- ("iPod photos") and put it where you want it (I actually put it on the hard drive part of my iPod).
Create a folder inside that one named for any albums you want to sync.
Drag photos from iPhoto (select every photo in the album) into the folder you've created for that album.
In your iTunes prefs, set your iPod to sync photos with the new folder you've created, where ever it may be and that should do it.
First sync will take a while....
    Hope that's helpful.

  • How can I sync photos from my computer to iPad2?  When I try, it asks the photos will replace the three apps I created

How can I sync photos from my computer to iPad2?  When I try, it asks the photos replacing three apps I created.

    You're welcome.
However, can you then organise your photos in i Pad into different categories so that it is easier to access? If that can be done , then can we keep them separately in i Pad so that it can not be deleted when we Sync next time around?
Already answered with my previous post, which is not by category but by photo albums or folders or photos.
Create a parent folder on your computer to store the folders of photos that you want transferred to your iPad only. Select the parent folder under the Photos tab for iPad sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync.
To add another folder of photos to your iPad, place the folder of photos in the selected parent folder followed by a sync.
The named folder of photos in the parent folder will be transferred to your iPad as seperate albums or folders of photos.
When adding a new folder of photos to the selected parent folder to be transferred to your iPad followed by a sync, the existing folders of photos in the parent folder that are already available on your iPad will not be touched or removed with the next sync to transfer the new folder of photos to your iPad.

How can I sync apps from my iTunes on Macbook Air without syncing apps from the iPad 2 to my Macbook Air? (As my Macbook Air is only 64GB and my iPad is 64GB and that my Macbook Air only has 40 GB left...) Or is there no other way but to sync apps from iTunes to iPad without syncing apps from iPad to iTunes(it says Backing Up , then it says Converting files to iTunes, then it shows the name of the app on the bottom...)

Yes, sign in with the same Apple ID as your stolen one in the new iPod Touch.
