Can't Sync Contacts with iPod on iTunes 12

Hello, It seems as if i can't sync my contacts and calendars to my iPod nano in iTunes 12. However, If i go to my iPhone, it shows the contacts & calendars are being synced to iCloud (under info). Why can't i sync them to my iPod???

Unfortunately there is no change. Here is what I did:
1) I synched one selected group only of the addressbook. The sync was successful.
2) A few days later when I reconnected iTouch to my Mac the iTouch appeared in iTunes and its software was automatically updated.
3) Later on, in the info tag, I unclicked the group that was initially selected (and addresses transferred) and changed the sync to "sync all". But during the transfer suddenly the iPod disconnects in the middle of the transfer. The iTouch is plugged in the Mac, but disconnected. Ans so says the warning message.
Note that the folder "sync all" as well as the initially selected group are both visible in iTouch contact groups.
any other suggestion?

I try to reset my iphone and sync again, but it can't work.

i got oultook notes to sync with my iphone 5 thru itunes. iphone imports the notes but disregards the categories, so the notes come out sorted by date created; however, you could do a search.

Can't sync contacts with Blackberry phone after migration to iCloud. The only way to do is to have a local copy of address book. What else can I do (before BB will fix the bug)?

Ah! This explains why I have been tearing my hair out for the past 24 hours trying to get my contacts from Address Book to my new BB Torch!
I found a workaround for a one-time sync:
1. go into Address Book prefs and temporarily change Default account from iCloud to On My Mac (this makes the "All on My Mac" category visible)
2. Go back into your contacts window, select all of your contacts, and copy them to All on My Mac (this will create duplicates of everything)
3. Sync the BB.
3. Return to prefs to change default account back to iCloud, and select all the contacts in All on My Mac and delete them, thereby removing all duplicates.
This solution only works for a one-time sync and needs to be repeated for future syncs.
Let's hope BB comes up with an iCloud compatible update ASAP!

Windows xp home edition works program does not sync contacts with ipod

I recently purchased a new computer with the Windows XP Home edition and it had a new program called Works installed. It takes the place of excel, powerpoint, calender, outlook, etc. Started to add contacts and my iPod 30gb says it can't sync contacts without outlook. Is there a patch fix for this? My old computer is on it's way to my son's, several hours away.

I don't own an iPod touch. I own an older 30 gb with click wheel. I am new to this whole thing-iPods, forums, etc. Of everyone in my family (adults) I am the most literate when it comes to computers and the other person is too young to be included in online forums. I just need to know if there is a fix for the iPod to correct the only with Outlook sync for the address book part of it.

Help!! Can't sync contacts with Desktop Software

Has anyone figured out how to get around the error message that says you can't sync contacts because it can't access the database? I have un-installed PocketMac and the desktop software, and then re-installed it, but it still will not sync. My address book also doesn't show up in the applications. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Itunes can't sync contacts with outlook, but it works with calendars.

hello everyone,
i've been trying to synchronize my contacts and calendars to my ipod nano 4g lately. after much effort, my calendars are synced... but my contacts don't. when i click the 'contacts' tab in itunes, i can also not choose the option to select wich contacts to sync manually, the only option is 'sync all', but it doesn't sync anything with that. how can i fix this? i am using itunes 8 and outlook 2007 by the way.

Iphone can't sync contacts with Macbook air trough itunes

When i backup my iphone 5 with itunes 11.1.3 on my new macbook Air, it doesn't backup the contacts. And i cant find the option.
I noticede that the informations bar doesn't apear at iphone's menu, on itunes.

Changes have been made to Mavericks regarding syncing contacts and calendar. That needs to be done via iCloud now. Take a moment to search the More Like This area or search for Mavericks threads that should provide you with more information.

How can I sync contacts and calendar via iTunes 11.1.8 to iOS 3.1.3 (iPhone 1)?

I am proud owner of an iPhone 1 and it still works fine, but runs on iOS 3.1.3. I updated my 2 year old iMac to Mac OS X (10.9) and I am now using iTunes 11.1.8. Actually, I bought my iMac because I was so enthusiastic to see how smooth syncing with my iPhone worked. Now, since OS X, I can not sync calendar and contacts anymore. I had to reset my iPhone and start from scratch, so contacts and calendar are empty.
Sync via iTunes does not work anymore because Apple deleted the direct sync function and my iPhone's iOS does not support iCloud.
Sync via CalDav does not work, beause for some reason my iCloud account is not approved when trying to create it in mail/calendar/contacts (I tried several times, crosschecked, all data appear correct to me and work in the browser access).
Sync via Google does not work, because obviously, my iOS does not support their calendar and contacts function.
Sync via Windows PC might work, but I would have to set one up from scratch.
Downgrading to iTunes 10.7 failed, because OS X didn't allow it. Downgrading the Mac OS might be an option, but I am already running e.g. Books and using it a lot.
Any help is welcome.

Thank you Meta, but I could not get the calendar and contact sync with Gmail to work. Apple support already suggested to use Google or a Windows PC. Maybe I should actually reset and try my old Windows PC. Seriously, ... can this be the solution after a Mac OS update for pure Apple users?

With 7.0.2 can't sync library with iPod

Upgraded to 7.0.2 and during installation got a message that a corrupted Ipod had been detected. Can't figure that--all was well until upgrade. I can transfer to my library but I can't sync library to my iPod (it's all white). I've reinstalled 7.2 and restored several times but no luck. The restoration transfers new stuff but I can't do it by click & drag. Seems 7.2 is causing problems for many....any help?

I figured it out. If you've been on manual management on the previous version, when you download 7.2 you have to reactivate your manual management on the options list or your Ipod does not connect with iTunes. As simple as that.

IPad can't sync contacts with iCloud

I need some help.... I have an iMac running Mtn Lion (10.8.2) and an iPad3 (6.0.1) and I'm trying to sync the two in iCloud. Contacts are giving me a headache. I've got the contacts into iCloud so I went to iTunes, clicked on the iPad and went to "info". Thought everything was OK but no contacts (actually there are a couple) on the IPad. Went back to iTunes and clicked on the iPad. went to "info" and now there is no box to check next to "Sync Contacts" and the message in the box says "Your contacts are being synced with you iPad over the air from iCloud" and "Over-the-air sync settings can be changed on your iPad." My contacts are syncing (iPad) with iCloud and I can't figure out to get the check box back so I can choose to sync my contacts. I know there are other threads out there with similar questions but I couldn't find anything that helped me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use my iMac at home and a PC in the office. I therefore store all my appointments and contacts in the Microsoft Outlook in my PC. I've already sync my new iPod Touch with my iMac at home and wonder whether I can plug it to the PC to sync just the Outlook appointments and contacts.

After my previous post from work I came home and did a sync here but with contacts & appointments disabled and it worked. I now have seperate types of items sync'ed on different computers!
I now plan to manage my music manually and rip some CDs on my much faster work computer and only 'sync' my Outlook info.

When I sync my iPhone 4 with my computer, it says it can't sync with my Yahoo account (as it has been for the past year) because I don't have an internet connection. I have wireless interent connection and I've checked everything - it's hooked up and I've tried to close out programs, restart etc. I have the latest iTunes version on my computer. Thank you for your help in advance...

OK, sounds like you are using Yahoo to store your contacts. If you're having a problem with this, it is highly likely it is on Yahoo's end since they often have server issues, but two things you can try:
If you're currently on wi-fi, turn that off and see if you can access your contacts via 3G.
Try deleting the Yahoo account off your iPhone and re-create it.
Last week my Yahoo account was acting buggy and didn't get resolved until I did both (turned off wi-fi, then deleted and re-created the account over 3G).

I can only Syn contacts on my outlook 2010 cannot syn Calender, have unistalled and reinstalled, mobileMe, Outlook 2010 and icloud, I keep getting an error message saying "need a valid email addrass in outlook" I do have a valid Hotmail email addrass have also created a @me email account, still cannot sync calender. I have an Imac PC with win7.

Why are you running Mobile Me? calendars and contacts are no longer available there, your Hotmail address may be OK for an Apple ID but wion't work for email in iCloud,
Outlook is dreadful anyhow, use emClient for iCloud.

Can't sync contacts with Verizon Motorola V3m

I had been able to sync with this phone before and on this same computer (MBP) and user account. That is until I deleted the phone the Bluetooth Preferences.
I can re-add the phone via Bluetooth Preferences again, but unlike before, the Mac does not ask me if I want to set up for syncing contacts, events, modem, networking. The device is added, but doesn't get added to the iSync devices.
Any suggestions?

Can't sync contacts with Viber and whatsapp

Hi I have a iPhone 5S running 7.1.1 latest iOS.
Since this update whatsapp can't sync to my contacts and when I installed Viber I'm getting the same issue. These apps simply just sit trying to sync or load contacts.
Privacy is turned on for both apps and there are no restriction on the phone.
I have iCloud, exchange and gmail contacts on but have tried turning off gmail and exchange. Followed by uninstalled both apps and reinstalled Viber still no resolution.
At one stage I did a complete restore of the phone.
Is there a know issue with these apps and / or can you advise of any solution. I have also raised a case on Viber.

Also tried turning off Wifi as discussed in a different tread and this did not solve the problem. I managed to load Viber on to my iPad2 also running 7.1.1 and this worked.
