Can't sync contacts with yahoo account (and I do have internet connection!)

When I sync my iPhone 4 with my computer, it says it can't sync with my Yahoo account (as it has been for the past year) because I don't have an internet connection. I have wireless interent connection and I've checked everything - it's hooked up and I've tried to close out programs, restart etc. I have the latest iTunes version on my computer. Thank you for your help in advance...

OK, sounds like you are using Yahoo to store your contacts. If you're having a problem with this, it is highly likely it is on Yahoo's end since they often have server issues, but two things you can try:
If you're currently on wi-fi, turn that off and see if you can access your contacts via 3G.
Try deleting the Yahoo account off your iPhone and re-create it.
Last week my Yahoo account was acting buggy and didn't get resolved until I did both (turned off wi-fi, then deleted and re-created the account over 3G).

Ah! This explains why I have been tearing my hair out for the past 24 hours trying to get my contacts from Address Book to my new BB Torch!
I found a workaround for a one-time sync:
1. go into Address Book prefs and temporarily change Default account from iCloud to On My Mac (this makes the "All on My Mac" category visible)
2. Go back into your contacts window, select all of your contacts, and copy them to All on My Mac (this will create duplicates of everything)
3. Sync the BB.
3. Return to prefs to change default account back to iCloud, and select all the contacts in All on My Mac and delete them, thereby removing all duplicates.
This solution only works for a one-time sync and needs to be repeated for future syncs.
Let's hope BB comes up with an iCloud compatible update ASAP!

Can't sync contact with my MBP

Dear All,
My MBP is osx 10.6.8 and iPhone4 5.1.1
Last week my iphone can't sync contacts with MBP, it sync with my gmail contacts!
I try to reset my iphone and sync again, but it can't work.
Only contacts have problem, calender is work fine.
Anyone know how to fix this?

i got oultook notes to sync with my iphone 5 thru itunes. iphone imports the notes but disregards the categories, so the notes come out sorted by date created; however, you could do a search.

Can I sync iCal with Yahoo?

I'm running OSX Leopard on a new iMac. Address book will let me sync contacts with my Yahoo account (it's a button in the preferences pane), but iCal does not appear to have this same functionality. Is there a way to make this work?

Help!! Can't sync contacts with Desktop Software

Has anyone figured out how to get around the error message that says you can't sync contacts because it can't access the database? I have un-installed PocketMac and the desktop software, and then re-installed it, but it still will not sync. My address book also doesn't show up in the applications. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Can't sync contacts with Viber and whatsapp

Hi I have a iPhone 5S running 7.1.1 latest iOS.
Since this update whatsapp can't sync to my contacts and when I installed Viber I'm getting the same issue. These apps simply just sit trying to sync or load contacts.
Privacy is turned on for both apps and there are no restriction on the phone.
I have iCloud, exchange and gmail contacts on but have tried turning off gmail and exchange. Followed by uninstalled both apps and reinstalled Viber still no resolution.
At one stage I did a complete restore of the phone.
Is there a know issue with these apps and / or can you advise of any solution. I have also raised a case on Viber.

Also tried turning off Wifi as discussed in a different tread and this did not solve the problem. I managed to load Viber on to my iPad2 also running 7.1.1 and this worked.

Can't sync mail with Yahoo mail

I want to transfer my Yahoo contacts to Apple's mail program. I checked "synchronize with Yahoo" in my Address Book Preferences. I also went to Isync preferences and checked all there, including "enable syncing on my computer." The next thing I'm supposed to do is hit the "Sync now" button from pull down preferences but I don't have a Sync Now button. I don't want to select devices because I don't want to sync a device. Basically, I can't figure out how to get the Isync program to sync now.

iSync itself is only for syncing Contacts and Calendars to non-Apple mobile phones via a USB or Bluetooth connection. However the iSync application does provide access to a couple of settings that affect system-wide syncing.
To turn on the Sync menu, open iSync's Preferences, and then check the *Show status in menu bar* option

Can I sync settings with multiple accounts?

I just got Creative Cloud for Teams at work, and I have to sign in to it using my work email address. If I ever leave this job and get CC for myself, or I start at another company, I won't have access to that account any more, nor will I have access to my old work computer. How can I carry over to a new account all my settings from the CC apps that support Sync Settings?

The short answer I received from Adobe was to log in at home using my work account info, open the programs, then log out and back in with my home credentials and save my settings. I was a little worried that would be a violation of some policy, they they assured me it was not, at least in my case. Here's the script:

Sync Contacts between Exchange account and MobileMe account

On my iPad I use two different email accounts: one Exchange account with ActiveSync and one MobileMe account.
How can I consolidate or sync Contacts between the two accounts?
At least, I would like to be able to move contacts from my MobileMe account to my Exchange account. Is that possible?

You could each add the others iCloud to your devices as a secondary account in mail, contacts, calendars and just enable the services you wish to use.

Can only sync contacts with outlook 2010 not calender

I can only Syn contacts on my outlook 2010 cannot syn Calender, have unistalled and reinstalled, mobileMe, Outlook 2010 and icloud, I keep getting an error message saying "need a valid email addrass in outlook" I do have a valid Hotmail email addrass have also created a @me email account, still cannot sync calender. I have an Imac PC with win7.

Why are you running Mobile Me? calendars and contacts are no longer available there, your Hotmail address may be OK for an Apple ID but wion't work for email in iCloud,
Outlook is dreadful anyhow, use emClient for iCloud.

Can't sync contacts with Verizon Motorola V3m

I had been able to sync with this phone before and on this same computer (MBP) and user account. That is until I deleted the phone the Bluetooth Preferences.
I can re-add the phone via Bluetooth Preferences again, but unlike before, the Mac does not ask me if I want to set up for syncing contacts, events, modem, networking. The device is added, but doesn't get added to the iSync devices.
Any suggestions?

How can I sync contacts to IMac, Icloud and Iphone

My Contacts on my Imac have only one option in settings to sync with my google contacts. Before Icloud all my contacts and calendar synced just fine between my Imac and Iphone. Now with Icloud I never seem to be able to sync contact to or from my Iphone.

iCloud requires Mac OS X 10.7.2 or later. Your signature states you are using 10.6.5 so that could be the reason.
You can still use iTunes to sync your contacts. You don't have to use iCloud.

Itunes can't sync contacts with outlook, but it works with calendars.

IPad can't sync contacts with iCloud

I need some help.... I have an iMac running Mtn Lion (10.8.2) and an iPad3 (6.0.1) and I'm trying to sync the two in iCloud. Contacts are giving me a headache. I've got the contacts into iCloud so I went to iTunes, clicked on the iPad and went to "info". Thought everything was OK but no contacts (actually there are a couple) on the IPad. Went back to iTunes and clicked on the iPad. went to "info" and now there is no box to check next to "Sync Contacts" and the message in the box says "Your contacts are being synced with you iPad over the air from iCloud" and "Over-the-air sync settings can be changed on your iPad." My contacts are syncing (iPad) with iCloud and I can't figure out to get the check box back so I can choose to sync my contacts. I know there are other threads out there with similar questions but I couldn't find anything that helped me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
