  • I just received a refurbished replacement iphone and now while syncing I get "itunes has stopped working"...help???

I just received a refurbished iphone the the insurance provided by a major electronics retailer.  Since i have tried to sync it to iTunes I have received "iTunes has stopped working" error.  It says it will come back with possible solutions, but never does a thing.  I have already removed and again installed iTunes, QuickTime, etc. to no success.  Not sure what my next step should be.

This helped overcome the crash problem, but (as reported before), I still have to start iTunes in Safe Mode in order to watch any videos. This has been the case since 10.5.
The regular mode behavior has changed a bit - instead of the progress bar moving to the end of the video, showing no video but playing the audio for about three seconds, it now leaves the progress bar where it is ... but the rest of the behavior hasn't changed.
Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit on an HP dv8t quad-core laptop w/ 8 GB RAM, running nVidia GeForce 230M with 1 GB video RAM.
Thanks for your prompt response to the original problem posted above. At least now I'm back where I started from before I upgraded to 10.7. Not optimal, but I've finally gotten used to doing a Ctrl-Shift-click to run iTunes.

  • I am running windows 7. My itunes keep shutting down on me. I keep getting the message itunes has stopped working What can I do?

I keep getting the message itunes has stopped working. A problem has caused itunes to stop working correctly. What can be the cause?

    Hello Main Event,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
I found this article while researching iTunes quitting unexpectedly on Windows 7 and feel it will help to resolve the issue here.
iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
It starts with troubleshooting 3rd party plug ins, then moves on to account troubleshooting if needed.
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any inference with plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down the Shift and Control keys while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
After clicking Continue, determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you see the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the Create a New User Account section below. If you do not experience the same issue, consult iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-insfor steps on how to remove third-party plug-ins.
    Take care,

  • Itunes has stopped working---whatis wrong?

Itunes has  stopped working       that appeared for 100 times      what is wrong with me?

Newer "green drives' will go into idle mode if not accessed after 20 minutes or so.  If iTunes is active and you try to shut down after the drive goes into idle ... you will get the error message  "iTunes has stopped working" and you will lose your library pointer when you restart iTunes.
Solution: Find one of many free programs on the Internet that will access the subject drive every 10 minutes by writing and/or replacing a short text file on the drive.  Therefore, it will not spin down and iTunes will have sufficient time to save the iTunes library when the program is shut down.  I know it is not green but who likes to restart Home Sharing and switch back to your favorite default screen each time it fails.
A better solution should be from Apple.  All they need to do is to allow iTunes an additonal 30 seconds to write the iTunes library before issuing the warning

  • Can't sync from iTunes to iPhone, get 'iTunes has stopped working' message

2 messages appear when I try to sync music (have tried a few times over the last few weeks and still having the same issue). I have no music now on my iPhone! I reverted to factory settings (as advised) then started again. Everything worked ok apart from the music.. which hasn't synced.
I upgraded to the newest version (4:2)but I still don't have music and I am still getting the error messages

In Itunes c on your pc can you see the song. Right mouse click and see if it has the option to check item. If so select it. iTunes will not synch unchecked music as part of a playlist.
Sometimes useful to look in the Songs viw in Music as you can add the checked column from View, View Options

  • ITunes has stopped working error message on my Dell Latitude E6520 when trying to sync photos to my iPhone 3GS.  Why?!

For some reason, I keep getting the "iTunes has stopped working" error message on my Dell Latitude E6520 when trying to sync photos to my iPhone 3GS.  I am using Windows 7 on my 64-bit computer.  iTunes will begin to optimize the photos in the folder I have directed it to (I am trying to load almost 3000 photos and videos), and it will go through optimizing all of them singularly, then get to the step where it says "optimizing" again, but does so in bigger groups.  It will get to about 2000, and then the error message "iTunes has stopped working" will pop up, and say that "Windows must close the program and will search for a solution, and if it finds one, it will notify me".  Why can't I sync these photos, and what can I do?  Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it!

Same problem here! Moreover, for some reason, the pictures in my iPhone 3GS somehow have been divided into 2 folders, Photos and Medialibrary. And when I open iPhone as a folder through the explorer I can see only the Photos folder, but cannot see the Medialibrary folder which stores the photos taken before updating/upgrading the iPhone and getting separated folders!!! What the hack with all of this?!!! When I connect iPhone to PC it automatically opens iTunes and starts syncronizing it, but at the process of OPTIMIZING the photos (and according to the number of photos it shows, I see that it tries to syncronize that invisible Medialibrary folder) the process suddenly stops and error message pops out Tried the sync test, tried the button DEBUG in that pop out message, but NOTHING HELPS!!! Also, when I open the Medialibrary in my iPhone, the screen get sblack all through scrolling it down, only the video clips are shown there... >.<
So, could you, apple developers, please, explain WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS ABOUT?!!!!!! FIX IT! I am getting ****** of to spend hours at the computer and reading those lame advises which do not help at all! I have my own things to do except reading your support websites. And I payed for the product ready to use, but not a halfproduct which problems should further be solved somehow by users..

  • Itunes has stopped working message whenever I sync photos to my iphone

I am using itunes 10.4.1.10 (the latest) and an iPhone (4.2.10) on windows 7. I have always used itunes to sync photos to my iphone and it was working great. For the last month or so itunes stops working when it gets to the photo optimization and sync. I recieve a message that itunes has stopped working. I have deleted the  ipod photo cashe folder several times with no effect. The phone syncs fine if I do not select any photos. I have tried different photo folders and the same thing happens. It seems to be volume related but it worked perfectly in the past.  Please help! I love having my photos on my phone.

Same exact problem with my iPod Touch ever since updating iTunes to 10.4.1. I've reinstalled iTunes and still no progress. What the ****, Apple?

  • Itunes has stopped working when syncing iPhone 6 Plus

    Hi,
I cannot sync my iphone 6 plus with itunes. Itunes opens ok, begins syncing but when it gets to step 5 always shows the error 'itunes has stopped working - Windows will try and find a solution'.
I have tried everything from here Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates
Nothing seems to work, I cannot put any of my personal music onto my phone and its driving me crazy! any help would be appreciated.

Same here....also when I restart iTunes afterward, all my devices don't even show up in iTunes at all until after you restart the computer
Even then, the problem persists. And I've tried all kinds of troubleshooting techniques

  • ITunes has stopped working when connecting new iPhone 6

I am getting what seems to be a common error "iTunes has stopped working" which I have tried many different tricks for fixing that I have found online, but nothing seems to work.
I have been using an iPhone 5 and backing up and syncing with no problems, the only problem being when I try to access the iTunes Store. This didn't bother me too much as I can access the store on my phone and everything else on iTunes worked fine.
But today I bought an iPhone 6 and as soon as I connect it (whether iTunes is already open or opens when I plug the iPhone in) I get the above error message and iTunes closes. So I am unable to sync my back up on to the new phone or use it at all.
Can anyone help with a recent fix for this, or a way around it?
I have tried copying recommended files into the correct folder, re-installing, opening as administrator and many other things I have come across online, but majority of these seem to be from a year or more ago. I am using Windows 7 on a PC, with the latest iTunes that I have just re-installed (again).
Any help would be really appreciated!
