Can't sync iphone with Outlook

My previous setup was ical on my iphone and mac via icloud. Everything synced great. I have changed from ical to Outlook and and wondering how I can sync my calendar from my iphone to outlook via icloud. Furthermore, I would like to be able to create an outlook event within outlook and it auto sync on my iphone. Any suggestions?

I spent an hour on the phone with Apple support on this exact issue. For me, sync to Outlook 2010 (32bit) worked fine in iTunes 9.2.1, and failed after I upgraded to 10. Apple support finally suggested getting Outlook x64. I'm running Windows 7 x64, but MS Office x86 (How Dell shipped it).
So, before going down that path (which is a bit of major surgery on my PC) I decided to completely remove iTunes 10, and my 10 library from my machine (all my media and apps are shared on another home computer).
I then installed iTunes 9.2.1 on the 'clean' machine, and I did a factory reset on my iPhone.
Low and behold the sync of my contacts, calendar and notes works seamlessly now from 9.2.1. I have tested several appointments and contacts and it works without complaint.
So... hate to tell you this but it looks like the issue is with iTunes 10.
So, for now, I will use my 'work' PC to sync just the contacts, notes and calendar with Outlook 2010 (using iTunes 9.2.1). On my 'home' PC I will sync my media and apps with iTunes 10. I've tested this, and it works fine.
Not an ideal solution, I'm lucky to have access to two machines. I'm convinced the problem is with iTunes 10. If you can, go back to iTunes 9.2.1 (there is a backup of you Library itl file you can use (the version 10 ITL won't work with 9.2.1)
Apple needs to fix 10 ASAP.

  • Can I sync iPhone with Outlook Personal Folder?

Just got an iPhone yesterday. Music syncs fine, and it looks like contacts and calendar items sync also. The problem is, I have both a (work) Exchange account and a (personal) email account defined in Outlook and iTunes doesn't see anything but the Exchange account.
I don't want to move my contacts and calendar items from my personal folders to the corporate Exchange folders. Is there a way to tell iTunes to sync something other than the Exchange folders? Within iTunes, the options for selecting groups is greyed out for contacts and calendars.
I've read a lot of posts regarding this issue, and wonder if people who are reporting 'unable to sync' are really having this same issue; Syncing of the 'wrong' folders (which, like in my case, may be empty).
I'm using Outlook 2007, Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit and I have all the latest updates including Office 2007 SP1.

    Dan Rosenfeld,
iTunes will read from Outlook whichever is the default for Outlook.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

If you do, you will lose all of your information on the phone. You can only sync to 1 itunes library at a time on 1 computer.

How can I sync iPad with Outlook?

Connect your iPad to your computer and open iTunes. Look under 'info' and you may need to scroll down. The option will be there to sync your outlook calendar (or more) with the iPad. Choose what you want and sync to 'save' the settings.

  • Can you sync Itunes with outlook for mac

Can you synce Itunes with Outlook fo MAC 2011?

Not directly. What you do is set Outlook to sync to Apple's databases (Address Book, iCal, etc)  via Outlook's Tools menu -> Sync Services and then you can sync to an IOS device, which is what I presume you mean.

  • Syncing iPhone with Outlook 2007 after hard drive crash.

I recently had a hard drive crash.  We were able to retrieve the .pst files for Outlook 2007 and I sync my iPhone with Outlook for contacts, calendar and such for business.  The iPhone of course, was not affected.  I downloaded iTunes on the new hard drive, and backed up the phone.  (I sync music and apps on my husband's laptop.)
Now, in trying to sync, though, I get a lot of nebulous messages that really don't explain what the outcome will be.
    Box says:
The information on the iPhone "Susan's iPhone" is synced with another user account.  Do you want to sync this iPhone with the information from this user account instead?
(Choices:  "Merge Info mergest th einformation on this iPhone with the information from this user account.  OR "Replace Info" replaces the information on this iPhone with the information from this user account.  )
My best guess would be 'Merge info" but then, will I end up with double everything?  I have many hundreds of contacts and years of calendars.
It seems with Apple I'm always cleaning up one mess after another.  Today when installing iTunes, it corrupted my Outlook and I had to repair Outlook. So it would be a nightmare to have double of everything on my phone and on my computer.
Does anyone have a clue as to what to expect?

On a PC with Windows or with Paralels iTunes 8.2 has an option for Outlook which works with Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 (if it works - see my post on a case where it doesn't ...)

Right click on your device under Portable devices and click on Uninstall and when the uninstaller box pop ups select delete the driver and click OK. Now click on Scan for hardware changes on top of the page and see if you get apple mobile device support driver under USB Devices and if not then disconnect your device from the computer and try to connect it to a different USB port and check also open control panel and select Apple Mobile Device  Support from the List and Click on Repair and check. If still the device is not showing under USB then uninstall the following services from your computer.
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if unable to uninstall ignore and move to next)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Restart your computer once after the uninstallation is completed and then download latest version of iTunes from http://WWW.apple.com/iTunes/download
Locate the iTunes setup file and right click the file and run the installation file as Administrator and let the installation complete.
Then check if your device gets deteced in iTunes and if still the device is not detecting in itunes then go to device manager and see under Usb if you can see Apple Mobile Device Support Driver and continue with the step. 5 of above given link in my previous post. And if still thedevice is not showing under USB then right click on your device under potable device and click update driver and first check for updates automatically and see under USB if you see the driver now and if not then go back to device under portable device select update driver, let me choose driver from the list, Have disk, browse file in the following location " C://Program Files/Common Files/Apple/Mobile Device Support/Drivers and select usbaapl file and install the same (if you can't find the driver on above location then look for the driver in Program Files(x86) instead of Program files and if you can't find usbaapl then look for usbaapl64 and complete the installation and then restart the computer and check if your device get recognized in iTunes.
Note: when installing the drivers keep the iTunes closed till the drivers installation is completed.

How do I sync my iphone with outlook express?

You don't. It is not a supported program for syncing with iTunes. iTunes supports syncing with Outlook and Windows Address book only on a PC.

  • Can' sync iphone with outlook 2007 contacts

Not able to sync my iphone to outlook contacts.  Have followed the suggested method regarding the trust center add-ins.

Is the iPhone syncing everything else in Outlook (calendar, notes)? Has it ever synced contacts? What happened that made you notice it wasn't syncing contacts?
You can try by resetting the sync history in iTunes first.

  • Syncing iPhone with Outlook and with Oracle Calendar

Set up: Windows XP 2, Oracle Calendar Server, iPhone with 2.0.2 and iTunes 7.7.1.11. Outlook is the desktop client to Oracle Server. Others make appointments for me around my organization.
I have had successful syncs but also failures in this environment, but after the latest releases of firmware and iTunes, it consistently stopped syncing.
I think I have found an unsatisfactory work-around. If I go into the .com add-ins and disable the Oracle connector in Outlook, then I can get the iPhone to sync to Outlook. I then have to turn the connector on to interact with the server. Manageable but not pleasant.
    Is there a better solution?

Originally all of Apple products were intended for use with Mac computers. Macs have default program - iCal to sync calendars. Windows default program is ironically Microsoft Outlook. There couple more options in iTunes for
calendar sync, but those need to be chosen and not default.
In your particular situation since you don't have outlook anymore, you don't need to make any changes. No outlook - no sync. Apple way - no user interference nessesary.
Please do remember that everyting I write is just my opinion, nothing more or less.

  • Best Way to Sync Iphone with Outlook - Parallels, Google Cal or Mobile Me?

I just bought a macbook pro. I must sync with outlook because the software I use in my business syncs its calendar and contacts with outlook and then I sync my iphone to outlook. It seems there are three options. I am interested in feedback on these or if I am missing an option.
Parallels 4.0 - This will apparently let me sync with Outlook. I have not tried it. But this would then require me to keep all my photos and music on the Windows partition, which I would prefer not to do.
Google Calendar. I could sync my outlook with Google Calendar and then sync Google Calendar with ICal and then sync on Apple OS side. This seems clunky, but I get to keep my music and photos and whatnot on Apple OS side.
Mobile ME. I think this is an option but I have not investigated it. I think I can sync with outlook and ICal kind of like google calendars but am not sure. Not that thrilled at spending 100.00 year for this service.
Any input. Other options? Let me know.

You can sync iTunes content with a single iTunes library. You can sync iTunes content and transfer photos with iTunes on your OS X side, and sync contacts and calendar events only direct with Outlook with iTunes on the Windows side. Your iPhone can have different sync preferences with iTunes on different computers, and in this case with iTunes on your OS X partition, and with iTunes on your Windows partition.

  • How do I sync iPhone with Outlook?

Would like to be able to sync my new 4S (with iOS 7) with Outlook 2003 (contacts, calendars, memos, to do list, etc), which is on Windows XP.

    Hi sbprchr,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has information on how to sync and what you can sync with your iPhone using iTunes:

Another alternative is iCloud, which you can learn about here:

  • Can't sync iPhone with iTunes 9.1 after update (Windows 7)

    Hi,
after the succesfull update to iTunes 9.1 synching contacts, dates (Outlook 2007) and bookmarks (Safari 4.0.5) does not work anymore. I haven't had any sync problems before the update. All other app, music and videos gets synched well.
iTunes gives two error messages (translated from german, maybe it's an localzation problem?):
    1) iTunes couldn't sync information with iphone since Synchronisation is not activated. Do you want to activate Synchronisation?
If you don't activate Synchronisation, itunes can't sync contacts, dates, bookmarks and email accounts to your iphone.
When i try to activate the following error message pops up:
iTunes couldn't access the provider data from sync services. Try again.
Comletely deinstalling and reinstalling of iTunes and ipod services didn't solve the problem.
Has anybody a similar problem or a tip for me? Should I go back to iTunes 9.0.3?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi all,
I've found the solution in another thread: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11296350#11296350
It's oviously a problem of iTunes 9.1, which does not seem to fin the syncserver. exe or some of its dependent files.
User icefoxxxx showed me how to solve the problem. Anyway, Apple has to fix this, many people will have the problem:

you won't believe how I fixed it... my syncserver.exe can't run because some dll is missing, but I notice the dll is in another folder "Apple Application Support". So I copied all files in
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    over to
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
    and it solves everything!
Obviously there is something wrong in registering the former folder by the new itunes installation program. Hope next version fixes it.
