Can't sync iphone.

When I try to sync my iphone I get the following error, "The iphone "Malia" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-50)." Please help. I've restarted my phone and computer and it did nothing.

Good chance the problem is with iPhoto. Try unchecking the sync with iPhoto in your phone settings in iTunes. If it syncs now, you know the problem is with iPhoto.
If you look around you will find several threads this.

How can I sync Iphone to a PC calendar then have multiple users share that calendar? Is there an application that does that?

If it is actually an exchange calendar, and it's not linked to a specific user, it should be possible to simply add the exchange account to each device in question and have that exchange account only sync the calendar.  Then every user has access to the same calendar and can add/edit entries to the calendar as needed.
The same would apply if it were a Google calendar added via Exchange.
If the calendar is not actually on Exchange, but rather added from an outside source, it will depend on that outside source where the calendar originates.

If you do, you will lose all of your information on the phone. You can only sync to 1 itunes library at a time on 1 computer.

Can I sync iphone apps to ipad2? ie calculator, weather, compass?

You can sync apps that you downloaded from the App Store - you cannot sync Apple's built-in apps from one device to another (they are part of the iOS and cannot be deleted or transferred)

Can you sync iPhone 5 with Outlook 2013? Everything mail, contacts and calender.

    Hey Mark
    I'm Michael and I work for connex.io.
We were also constantly having problems with our address books, so we decided to build our own solution. connex.io is a service that syncs two-ways between all of your devices and services. It also de-duplicates, cleans completes and automatically updates your address books on all of those devices. So whenever you make a change on any of them, it automatically gets changed everywhere. So you only have to connect your address books once, and you will have your contacts always with you. No need to connect your device to your computer or sync manually.
If you want to check it out: www.connex.io or you can send me an e-mail if you would like some more info: [email protected]
I hope this helps you out.

  • Since I down loaded Mavericks I can't sync calendars with iPhone. How can I sync iPhone calendar and Mac calendar

Since I downloaded Mavericks on my Mac I can't sync calendars with iphone. How can I sync iphone calendars with Mac calendar?

    Mavericks syncs Calendar via iCloud.
Make sure you have the same iCloud account set up on your mac and your iPhone.
In System Preferences > iCloud, make sure the Calendars checkbox is checked.
In System Preferences > Internet Accounts, iCloud should be an account in the box on the left, and Calendars should be checked in the box on the right. If you have other calendars, for example, from work, make sure those are enabled too.
Check the same settings on your iPhone: in Settings > iCloud, make sure the same iCloud account info is present and that the Calendars slider is on. in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, make sure the iCloud account is present, and that the Calendars slider is on.

  • Can't Sync iPhone and Safari always crashes

I can not sync up my iPhone with my MacBook Pro. It doesn't give me any error messages, but it doesn't update anything either. My iPhone still says its syncing even though iTunes says its done. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and whatever that apple utility is for mobile devices. No luck. I've tried creating a new user account. No luck. I've tried restoring my phone, and I can't even do that. It does give me an error message.
The only way I can restore/sync my phone is to dig out my PC that I originally activated the phone on. It works like a charm on that, but I don't have my contacts up to date on that computer.
    Any ideas???
Also, ever since I've upgraded to the latest 2.1xxx software, Safari crashes after about five minutes of use. Its like the memory isn't dumping anything and gets overloaded.
    Any ideas for this?

  • Can't sync iphone in iTunes and can't connect to wi-fi

Since my last update to IOS 5.1.1, I can no longer connect to wi-fi via my home router, nor can I back up my iPhone in iTunes.
Regarding the wi-fi connection, I receive a message stating that the wi-fi password is incorrect.  I have tried multiple times to carefully enter the correct password, but keep receiving the same error message.  We have two other iPhones and an iPod Touch in our household and all three of them have no trouble connecting to our home wi-fi using the very same password.  My iPhone does, however, connect to other wi-fi systems, so I know it is not a hardware problem. I have tried resetting network connections, but that did not rectify the problem.
Regarding backing up my iPhone in iTunes, I keep getting a message that "an error occurred", but no other significant information.  I tried to update iTunes from version 10.6.17 to 10.6.3, but the update kept failing.  I eventually removed the iTunes software from my machine and re-loaded it from scratch.  This worked and I now have iTunes version 10.6.3.25 on my machine.  When I try to sync my iPhone, however, I still get the message stating that "iTunes could not back up the iPhone "Steve's iPhone"  because an error occurred."  The progress bar across the top of the screen appears to indicate that all 8 steps of the sync process continue to complete, but when finished, the message at the bottom of my screen still reads "Last backed up to this computer: 6/1/2012 11:57 AM".
There was a diagnostic option which eventually indicated that a "Secure link to iTunes Store failed".  I then tested this by searching the iTunes store and downloading a new app - which worked just fine, but for some reason I still can't sync my phone.  There was an additional option to print out the details of the diagnostic test, which I did.  The following are the only two lines in the detailed diagnostics that seemed to indicate any sort of problem:
"Connection attempt to browsing iTunes Store was unsuccessful"
    "The network connection was refused"
Ironically, the last line of the diagnostic printout reads: "Sync tests completed successfully".  Unfortunately, I still can't sync or backup my phone.
         Thank you,
         Steve

Also, what version of iTunes are you running?

  • Can't sync iPhone... Apple Mobile Device support does not install

    Hello @all,
    I've got a big problem.
I've installed the 8.1 Update of Itunes and Apple Mobile Device Service would not be installed. After registering modules the setup reverses all actions.
Now I can start Itunes but my IPhone can't sync. Theres a German Message like: "This IPhone can not be used because it needs software wich is not installed. Please start the ITunes Setup to uninstall Itunes and reinstall the ITunes 64-Bit Version."
I've uninstalled all Apple components on the PC, cleaned up the registry... but it doesn't work. An older version of Itunes doesn't work too. What can I do? Please help me.
My system is Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit

You either are not installing it from an Administrator account or you have Vista configured to prevent installation of privileged services. AppleMobileDeviceService must run in a privileged mode.

  • Can't sync iPhone after computer upgrade

I just upgraded my notebook hard drive and started everything on the computer - including my iTunes library - over from scratch. Unfortunately, even though this is the same computer I was using before (albeit with a new hard drive, and upgraded to Leopard), the iPhone doesn't seem to be recognizing it as such: I can't sync or play music through iTunes.
Is there any way, short of wiping the iPhone and all of that jazz, to get the phone working with my computer? This is definitely not the sort of user experience I've come to expect from Apple.

    Brendan,
If you replaced your hard drive, the iPhone is going to think it's connected to a different computer. So in order to sync, it will need to erase the content from your iPhone and re-sync it. If you set up all of your iTunes info (and the other info you normally sync to the iPhone), all you will need to do is sync the information back to your iPhone from the computer.
    Hope this helps,
    Jennifer B.

  • Can't sync iPhone to new iMac

I follow all the knowledgebase advice: I've authorized iTunes on the new iMac, I've unchecked 'auto sync' in Preferences. I connect my iPhone directly to the computer via USB. I right click on the device and select 'Transfer Purchases', iTunes gets to the 'Transferring Purchases from iPhone "x" Waiting for changes to be applied' and then hangs. I've even tried 'erase and replace', and again it hangs. I'm stuck. What do I do?

I can't sync my iPad either. Help!
