Can't sync music to iPhone after iOS 5 upgrade

Help. PLEASE HELP.
So here's what happened. I finally took the plunge and upgraded my iPhone 4 to OS 5. To my surprise, everything seemed fine... until I opened the Music app and there was NO music. No playlists, no albums, NO songs. Only a message that said "No Content You can download music from iTunes." With more than 10,000 songs in my iTunes library, i have no shortage of music. So, I tried syncing it again the next night and when iTunes opened, a window popped up saying that my last restore was stopped and asked if I would like to continue so i said yes. After a few minutes of waiting for the restore to complete, i got a window saying that it couldn't finish the restore and gave me error number (-36). I tried again, and this time it looked like it loaded my playlists, but when I opened them all of the songs were greyed and I couldn't play them. I hit the forums to find an answer, and after a few solutions (such as playing a song in its entirety in the device drop down menu and then resyncing) I was able to load SOME of the songs, but about 348 would not load. I tried restoring it again... and again... and again. Nothing worked to get the last songs on the phone, and I kept either getting error messages (-36) or (-47). Finally I was about to go onto the summary page from the device menu, but I couldn't . Everytime I connect my phone to my computer and iTunes, it is stuck on the "Set Up Your iPhone" screen, so my only option is to restore... again. I'm going in circles here, people. I'm flying out of town tomorrow for a few days, and i can't bare the thought of traveling without music.

  • Not able to sync music to iphone after ios 8 update

title pretty much says it all. When i plug my phone in, iTunes thinks that i have all my music on there and the sync button is greyed out. Any ideas on how to fix this? ive already restored my phone.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    Also, if a PC:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • Can't sync music on 3GS after IOS5 upgrade

Upgraded my 3gs to ios5, got an error state, restored, got "An error occurred while restoring this iPhone (-34)", but successfully restored after a couple of tries, but now I can't synch any music to the phone. My Apps, contacts, and photos are there, but no music.  When I try to synch the music, It says syncing, and "completes" but the music app shows "No Content".  I tried unchecking al music in itunes, syncing, then checking some music and resynching, thinking it my clear something out, but to no effect.  It's as if it thinks it's adding music, bt nothings there.

my problem occurred when I upgraded to IOS5 on my iPhone 4.  I received an unable to sync message that indicated that there was no space left on my iPhone; and a "Other" Capacity indicator appeared on the bottom of the iPhone device sync screen (in yellow color) and noted an overage of 12GB!  Ofcourse, prior to the upgrade I actually had 6GB free on my 32GB iPhone.  So, there is a bug.  The following link indicates a few solutions and hopefully it will answer your concern.  The link is http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1503
However, I had to restore as the first two solutions didn't work.  Furthermore, about 3.3GB of "Other" remains while I synced up.  Clearly, the problem has not been resolved.  Apple owes me and you community members a patch to fix this bug.  Basically, I have spent about two hours fixing this and I still cannot use 3.3GB of my iPhone space.

  • Can't sync music onto iPhone 4 or 5

A few months ago, I updated my iPhone 4 to ios 6.  It wiped out my music library, and I can't get it to sync.  I've tried many times to no avail.  My daughter got an iPhone 5 for Christmas, and I can't get her music to sync either. We are using iTunes 11. Does anyone know how to fix this?

On a side note, I have had my iPhone for a while now, and up until recently it would sync music fine. Only within the past two or so months did this problem crop up.

  • Can't sync music on Ipod after formatting

I recently formatted my computer and so, lost Itunes. I installed it all over again. No problem until then. I put my music and videos from my Ipod (Fifth generation, 30go) on my computer and then on my new Itunes. Doing this, I lost over 500 songs and about 50 videos, who knows why, but that isn't the main problem. My problem is that now, I can't sync new music on my Ipod.
Also, when I plug my Ipod on my computer, the "Do not disconnect" sign appears automatically and stays there until I manually eject my Ipod. Before the formatting, the "Do not disconnect" would only appear when I was syncing something on my Ipod, and would disappear right after.
Other minor problem, time on the clock is wrong. For exemple, it showed 12:30 AM when it was 20:00.
    Can anybody help me?

just had about the same thing happened to me,downloaded a few songs, went to sync them and lost about 400 songs that were already installed....now itunes says computer is not authorized to play!

  • Can't sync music or podcasts after update to iOS4

Just upgraded my iPhone 3G to iOS4. Since doing this, iTunes can no longer sync music or podcasts to the iPhone. Only the apps will sync. iTunes claims the files cannot be found - despite the fact that they are all listed correctly in iTunes and all play fine if I double-click on them in iTunes. I've done a complete reset of the iPhone and configured it from scratch and the problem remains. I'm at a total loss as to what to do. Everything worked fine before the update. The only possible oddity in my set-up is that the music files in iTunes are stored on another Mac in the house, mounted as a shared drive - but this hasn't caused any issues previously.
All my computers are Macs running 10.6.4 and all latest updates. Help!!

Problem solved itself - eventually. Solution was to reboot the computer and reconnect to iTunes. When iPhone was connected to iTunes a message appeared which said that the iPhone restore had been previously interrupted and did I want to resume, restart or cancel. Ironically, whilst choosing resume and restart failed every time, by selecting cancel the system proceeded to correctly sync all the music. Go figure.

  • Reinstalled computer.  Can't sync music to iPhone 3G.

I recently reinstalled my 4 year old Macbook Pro to clean it out. Saved everything I wanted to an external hard drive. After everything was done and I downloaded all the needed updates I plugged in my iPhone 3G, but it didn't show up in Finder. It did show up in iTunes, but I can't add music individually.
I can't drag a song from my Music Library to my iPhone like I could before. If I can put music on the phone it shows my songs on the phone as grayed out and I can't re-arrange.
    Any help?

You need to reauthorize iTunes. If it is, unathorize and reauthorize again. That should take care of it. The phone shouldn't show up in finder unless there are pics in the camera roll, and for music, you can set iTunes to manually manage music and you should be able to move individual songs after that.

  • Can't move music to iPhone after reinstalling OS.

I was on a 64 bit Windows 7 OS and I had to be reimaged to a 32 bit. I tried moving music over to my iPhone and it doesn't let me. I authorized this computer, but I'm not sure what that did. What am I missing?

You can only sync/manage to one computer/library.
When you re-imaged it became a new library. You may have to sync to the new computer, erasing the current content and replacing with content from the new library.

  • My Jabra Cruiser2 no longer syncs with my iPhone after iOS7 upgrade

After I upgraded my iPhone 4s to iOS 7 and 7.0.2, I am unable to discover or sync my Jabra Cruiser2 to my phone via bluetooth.
I also bought the 5s and the Jabra Cruiser2 is not discovered when I go into discovery mode for bluetooth.
Is there a fix for this?

hi i am having the same problem, when i upgrade my iphone 4 to ios 7.0.4, it couldn't search anymore my jabra talk via bluetooth. appreciate if you can help me. thanks
Okay, did you try what I already suggested to EJAXX02?  That is, delete the pairing profile, then make absolutely sure that the jabra talk is itself in discoverable mode, and try re-pairing them?  Both devices need to be in discoverable mode, and you may have to force the jabra into it - most devices, once paired, do not automatically enter discoverable mode when subsequently powered on.  They have to be forced back into discoverable mode to re-pair them to anything.

  • Unable to sync music into iphone4s after ios 7 update

After updating my iphone 4s to ios 7, it deleted all my songs. Now I am unable to transfer any music to my iphone4s.
This is what happens whenever I click the sync button. I left it like this overnight one time, and wokeup to the same thing.

All right... I'm still unable to make or receive calls but can access 4G LTE for data.  I've tried:
         toggling airplane mode,
         power-cycling the phone,
         performing a soft reset,
         resetting network settings,
removing and replacing the SIM card,
         restoring the phone (twice),
(and with VZW) putting my old iPhone back on the line temporarily
and putting my iPhone 5 back on the line.
While VZW was going through the process of sending out a CLNR I saw that I suddenly had 3G coverage and was able to make a test call.  I just reset my network settings (for the umpteenth time) and now have 4G LTE.  My test call was successful.  I'm not sure what finally did it (although I suspect it had something to do with switching out the phones) but everything seems to be working okay.
Hopefully this will help someone else!

  • Crashed Hard Drive, how can I sync music from Iphone to new one?

I understand that the iPhone is intended only to sync with only one computer and for that reason it won't allow me to transfer my music from my iPhone to another computer. Problem is my old hard drive died (along with all my music inside).
How can I transfer the files that are on my iPhone to the iTunes on my new hard drive? I do not have any other back ups as I assumed the iPhone would serve as a back up device itself.

I assumed the iPhone would serve as a back up device itself.
That was a pretty bad assumption. The iTunes content sync is one way: Computer to phone. Apple makes no provision to get content off your phone and into your iTunes library, as it's expected that you backup that library, and no, the iPhone is not a backup device, not designed as such and never intended to be such.
For purchased music from the iTunes store, you can File>Transfer Purchases, before syncing and after you've authorized your computer Store>Authorize this Computer. Music ripped on your own or photos synced to your phone will have to be extracted using third-party software before you do anything else:

  • I can't sync my iPad 2 after iOS 5 update

I updated my iPad 2 last Monday to iOS 5. Ever since, I cannot sync my iPad to my computer. iTunes recognizes my iPad and attempts to sync, but every single time I get the error message "iPad failed to sync because sync session could not be started." I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 3 times, restarted my computer, restarted my iPad, moved files to a drive with more space, and relocated the files within iTunes. I called Apple, and they waived the SIngle Incident Fee for me since this was a problem occuring due to the last update. Upon speaking with a technician, he asked me if he could call me back in 10-15 minutes, and never called back. This is after being on the phone trying to solve this problem for an hour and a half. Please help.

TThere have been many post like yours here. At the bottom of the main page you can click on "View More" to review like posts. I have read that if you take it to an apple store they may give you a small credit towards a new ipad.  Good luck.

  • Can't open "Music" on iPhone after loading iTunes match iCloud

When I open "Music" after a while the iPhone return to the start. And on my iPad I can find only a part of my songs, placed in iCloud.
