Can't sync music to my iphone

Hi, Since few weeks, I can't put music from my itunes to my iphone 3GS, iOS 5.0.1. When dragging songs to my iphone (manual sync), in the progress window of iTunes I can see that is preparing for updating, but then it stops at that point. The music songs are onmy iphone afterwards, but they are gray and can't play them. I tried restarting iTunes, my laptop, installing the latest iTunes, but problem still the same.
Any idea?
Regards, George

  • HELP!!!! I still can't sync music to my iphone 6 with ios 8.1

I still can't sync music to my iphone 6 with ios 8.1. I have tried all the options suggested on various posts, and searched the internet, but since getting the iPhone 6, and updating to iois 8.1 today, I STILL cant get music from my macbook pro on to my phone, and its driving me mad.
Im using a MacBook Pro 2GHz Intel Core Duo, so quite an old mac, and iTunes 11.4. PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!!!

I've tried turning off and turning back in sync music, tried manually installing music. Re-installing the ios, resetting the network prefs etc. Some others had this problem when ios8 first came out. I tried all the 'tricks' they tried..... but there's worked whereas mine didn't.

I am in exactly the same problem here as this person. Exactly the same problem.
No, it was not jailbroken. And now because it's in this loop, there's no ability to restore and such on itunes as the only option now is ever 'eject'.

  • Sync single song via iTunes with my iPhone 5 & can't sync music with my iPhone

    Hey there,
I have two questions about iTunes and my iPhone 5.
    1) I have my full music library connected with iTunes and most songs are not bought via iTunes. Now I have alle artists listet up with their albums.
Can I now sync only one single song from an album with my iPhone 5? If I want to sync music with my iPhone I can only choose between Playlists, Artists,       Albums and Genres but not single songs. Is there a possibility to sync single songs from a full album?
    2) The other problem is when I want to sync music (and only music!) iTunes starts syncing with my iPhone 5 and nothing happens. After a while a get an error         that the synchronisation is stopped because it couldn't start syncing. Why? What can I do?
I use a windows 8 laptop with the newst version of iTunes and iPhone 5!

Which iTunes version is installed on your computer?
What happens when syncing? Any error message provided?

  • Can not sync music to my iPhone

I can't seem to sync music to my iphone.
I have done this previously without issue.
I click on sync but then it reverts back to the previous status, and syncs only photos and apps.
Any ideas how I can resolve this?
    Thank you

With you iPhone connected to iTunes check to see that you did not set your iPhone to manage music manually.

  • Can I sync music to my iPhone using a different iTunes library

    Hi guys,
I've seen various discussions on the net concerning this subject, but none of which provide a clear answer. Long story short, my last laptop broke, I now have a new laptop, but am unable to sync music to my iPhone because it's a different iTunes library. When I click manually manage music, I am prompted with a message stating that I'd have to delete all of the music from my iPhone to continue (which freaking *****). I am just wondering if there is a way around this.
    Thanks,
    LW

Oh, it appears the sync from playlist malarkey works. Hurray!

  • Can't sync music to my iPhone any more

It's been a while since I was able to sync music to my iPhone. After buying my subscription for iTunes Match I was able to load music from the cloud without problems. But then, without changing anything, the Music app crashed and every other app, like my Navigon Mobile Navigator, crashed either when trying to access my music.
I already reset the iPhone completely, switched iTunes Match off and switched from syncing via WiFi to cable sync. The only thing that changed was, that after switching off iTunes Match, the Music app started again. Thus, syncing music still doesn't work. I switched iTunes Match back on and now, the Music app starts again, seems to sync the content of "my cloud" but after this tells me, that I need to buy music via iTunes to play it from my iPhone.
I was unable to find a support number for iTunes Match that's why I'm asking here. Maybe someone knows how to solve this problem.
    Any help is appreciated.
BTW: on my iPad everything is working absolutely perfectly.
OS: OS X 10.8.1 (the problem occured before upgrading to Mountain Lion, I was using Lion before)
    iTunes: 10.6.3
    iOS: 5.1.1
    Device: iPhone 4 16 GB

  • Can't sync music to my iPhone 3GS....Help!

Need some assistance please. I can not sync any of my music to my iPhone.
The most common error message I get is the following; " iPhone can not be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to." I'm also getting time out errors. Funny thing is everything else syncs without any problems (ringtones, photos, apps, etc.).
I've restored my iPhone from a backup & also to factory new settings. I've restored it from my PC & from another PC. Nothing seems to work.
I recently upgraded my PC to Windows 7 but that is not the cause of the problem. It was working fine. Thinking that was the problem, I installed my iPhone from a Windows Vista PC...still no luck.
I can not synce any music or playlist.
Any suggestions? This is driving me crazy!
    Thanks...Mike

  • I can't sync music to my iPhone 6?

Ive tried syncing new playlist from iTunes to my iPhone 6 and for some reason its not working. is anyone else experiencing this issue? My contacts, calendar dates and photos work fine but I can't sync my music for some reason.

Plug your phone into your computer.  On the summary screen, turn off Sync only checked songs and music.  On the phone go to Settings | Music and turn off iTunes Match.  Now magically your playlists and any checked music will no longer be greyed out in iTunes.  On the Phone summary page in iTunes, activate the checkbox for Sync only checked songs and videos.  Go have a beverage or a meal because all that music that should have been put on your iPhone 6 in the first place is being put on it now.
I don't know if this change in IOS 8 is considered a feature, but I call it a BUG.
    Good luck

  • Can't sync music on my iPhone 3.0

I have an original 8GB iPhone.. and since I updated it I haven't been able to sync my music, I can sync anything but the music, includding apps and photos, but when I try to sync the music, it gets synced but when it's finished syncing it appears a message saying that there was an unknown error and it can't be synced, and it appears in iTunes that my music is in the iPhone.. but it isn't!
This error just appears when I try to sync music, and it's not a Playlist because I already tried diferent playlists and it's still not working, and this started happening since I updated my iPhone
Please someone help me, I am going on vacation soon and I really need my music to travel
    Thank you for reading.

Well, this may or may not help but it is an idea...
Try syncing music manually. The choice is on the first screen of syncing. If you select this box, iTunes expect you to drag your music from the music library onto the iphone and it will sync right then.
In other words, if you connect your phone, select "Manually manage music and videos ", then you can start dragging music from the library to the phone. Each playlist or group of songs you drag will sync immediately. This should help you determine if it is something in the music that does not sync
AND manual syncing of music applies to ringtones, videos, rented movies and tv shows. I"m not saying its easier or more fun, just another way to sync that might help.

  • Can't sync music to new iPhone

    Hi,
My new iPhone arrived today and I have set it all up and used the restore from backup following backing up my old iPhone.
However, I can not seem to be able to sync music to it. When I go into the phone when it's connected and go to the music section I only see an option to sync voice memo's. When I click this I can then see my old play lists which are the ones I want to sync, however it doesnt put them on the phone.
There is a message on the above screen stating that the phone can download songs from my icloud, but I don't want that. I want to sync them from my PC.
All my other data such as contacts and old texts etc have sync'd.
Also... on another seperate note, does anyone else have a problem with this forum where the cursor moves back to an older finished sentence when you puase for to long?

The problem reported by FireFly62 may be different from that of adam.b.
FireFly62, your probable problem is this:
Syncing of music via iCloud (iTunes Match) precludes syncing of music via iTunes. This is not a bug, you simply must decide whether to use iTunes OR iTunes Match but not both, to sync music on your phone. To stop syncing music via iCloud and use iTunes to configure what is synced, on your phone go to Settings / Music / iTunes Match and turn that OFF. Then go back to iTunes on your computer, then Devices / [Phone name], select Music from the top menu,  configure your sync settings, and click Sync.
Alternatively, if you wish to use iCloud/iTunes Match to sync but only via Wi-Fi, then on your phone go to Settings / Music / iTunes Match, make sure it's on, and change its subsetting "Use Cellular Data" to OFF. However, this may prevent you from listening to your music via phone when you are away from a Wi-Fi network.
My problem may (or may not) be similar to that of adam.b.
Here are specifics of my situation:
I sync several playlists. Two of them contain songs in iTunes but remain empty on my iPhone 5. (I am using iTunes 10.8.2.)
In iTunes, under Devices, in the Music section of my listed phone device, the songs on two of my (supposedly) synced playlists are grayed out. Each grayed-out song has a cyclical icon next to the song number, as if the song were in the middle of being synced. But no sync is in progress.
No matter how many times I select Sync, the songs in these two lists are not synced. No error message appears during sync, either. Other lists are fully synced.
If I unsync all Music in iTunes, apply the change, then resync, again these two playlists are not resynced. If go to Preferences / Advanced in iTunes and reset warnings and the cache, then Sync, again nothing happens with these two playlists. If I copy the songs from these two lists to two new lists, again none of the songs in these two new lists are synced.
If the problem is due to a corrupt library file, I am very reluctant to delete my library file and recreate my playlists from scratch.
I'm going to test it now, but I do already hve the option to choose what music to put on. I'll post back if it works.

  • How can I sync music on my Iphone with a Mac that previously had an different Itunes account.

Im having trouble syncing my playlist to a previously owned Mac. It keeps telling me that my Iphone is already synced to a device and will be erased in order to sync with the previously owned Macs library. Im not concerned about keeping the music already on the previously owned Mac, and would like to keep the $2000 worth of music on my Iphone, I need to be able to back it up though so if anyone could help.

Yup. You have to update itunes first. heres what I did and I had no problems.
1 Download newest version of iTunes.
2 Back up phone to PC.
3 Hook pc up in a safe place with good wifi and power supply.
    4 Start iTunes.
5 Hook up phone via usb cable to pc.
6 click on update button in iTunes.
7 Let the phone and iTunes do the rest. dont touch your phone until it restarts itself and goes back to the mini tutorial when you first turn it on.
