Can't sync songs to ipod because my computer is 'not authorized'

I just bought my ipod touch a few months ago and it was working fine till I realised some songs were missing. When I go to sync my ipod and put the songs on I get told my computer isn't authorised. When I try to authroize it I keep getting this message
'We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occurred (-09808). There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later'.
I also get this message when I try to deauthorize my computer. Does anyone know what I can do?

I received the same message a while ago and I just kept trying over time and finally it worked. It appears there is a problem with Apple's servers since the computer and to communicate with Apple to authorize/de-authorize.

And I assume you have already checked to see if your iTunes purchases are authorized by choosing Store -> Authorize This Computer?
Some have been able to resolve this issue by removing the downloaded purchase and redownloading it again at no cost via iCloud. See this article for more information on redownloading past purchases.

Some of my songs won't play because 'the computer is not authorized' but when I authorize it, it says it's already authorsized??
Can anyone help with this? I tried deauthorizing the computer, but same thing.

Same problem. Not sure if it's since updated to Mavericks or iTunes updated. Must be one of the two as it has never happened before. Tried updating iTunes but still happens.
On one album I bought for example, it will only play certain songs; others it will tell me it needs authourising and then go ahead and tell me that it's already authourised. Fun.
Obviously this is a problem that has been happening for a long long time judging by previous discussions but yet to see any that had a solution!

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. If you are out of authorizations but only have 1 computer, deauthorizing all computers and reauthorizing your correct computer might be a good idea. See this article for instructions:

Did not copy files to iPod because your computer is not authorized.

I don't have any stolen music on my iPod or computer.
but now iTunes says it won't update some of my PAID iTunes purchases to my iPod.
that's not right.

When I'm trying to sync my iPad with iTunes on my MacBook Pro, i keep getting a message that certain recent purchases (TV shows) won't sync because the computer is not authorized. But, it IS authorized! What's going on here??

I've recently upgraded my iPad to OS 5 and I am running iTunes 10 on my MacBook Pro. For some unexplainable reason, I'm now getting a message that items (mainly TV shows I've purchased through iTunes) are not able to be downloaded because the computer is "not authorized." I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.

I am trying to get an app (VSCO Cam) from my sister's iTunes library. We are logged onto the same home share network, and I can open her library just fine, but when I click the app and click "Import", a box shows up and says, "The file "VSCO CAM could not be copied because this computer is not authorized." I'm not sure wat computer it's talking about, buton both computers we've got up to the "Store" button, clicked "Authorize this computer", and we've entered OUR OWN Apple ID's. Now, the one we use for homesharing is different, and we both have our own apple ID's, which I put in my own, and she put in her own when asked to authorize our computers. Should we be putting in the ID we use when we homeshare when asked to authorize? Or will that change everything about our iTunes libraries.
I can import a song just rom her library just fine, it's only when I try to do the app/.

Apparently not!! I am NOT happy about it either! I had always bought my mp3's from walmart.com (until they quit doing it) & ANY time I had a problem, they had it corrected in less than 5 minutes! Why can't I access a tune after purchasing an entire CD, there is only one tune not available. It shows my computer is not authorized, but it actually is. I have downloaded 100 plus tunes int heis session and I can't access this one tune. Why!?!

It's corrupt. Delete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country.
