Can't synch Mac to new Torch 9800

I used to be able to synch bberry 8310 to my Mac but can't now with new 9800.  I just downloaded and ran Blackberry Desktop Mgr v1.0.4 with no luck and tried my current version of PocketMac v5.0 to no avail....either sw package doesn't recognized that the 9800 is connected via USB (9800 now uses the mini-usb connection).
Any thoughts?
m

Hey jmikecheck,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I would suggest you uninstall Pocket Mac, if you have it installed with BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Also what exactly are you looking to sync with your BlackBerry Torch?

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner:
With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescirbed for most gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
    Now, try the browser again,

  • Desktop Software won't run - so I can't transfer from my current Bold to my new Torch 9800

I currently have desktop software operating on Microsoft XP SP2 with a Blackberry Bold. The desktop software was loaded approx 18 months ago.
I have upgraded to a Torch 9800 and wish to transfer my existing info from my Bold onto it via the desktop software. I have attempted to download the latest desktop software but ultimately it ends in a message stating that the application requires XP SP3 to run.
Are there any solutions other than upgrading my OS? An earlier version of desktop software that will work with both XP SP2 and a Torch 9800 perhaps?
    Cheers

Correct, the current Desktop Software does require WindowsXP, service pack 3.

Hi, have recently purchased a BB Torch 9800, but can't download an app from the handset despite having created a BB ID. When I do try I keep getting an error message advising me to try later?

    Hey northernboy,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Try completing the following:
    1. From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options > Date and Time > set the Update Time field to Automatic.
    2. Press the Menu key, and select Update Time
    3. Press the Menu key, and select Save

  • Can't synch contacts with new ipad mini

I can't synch my contacts to my new ipad mini

Figured it out might've been something to do with free storage.  I had 2 gb available, free'd up another 1 gb and was then able to download.

  • Can't Synch to the new Itunes

I got the older 15 gig Ipod.
I downloaded the new itunes and like it but it wont synch properly.
I connect my ipod and let it run the course but when it finishes synching the new songs I imported aren't there.
Anybody know what i'm doing wrong?

I connect my ipod and let it run the course but when it finishes synching the new songs I imported aren't there.
it might be worth checking on the possibility from the following document:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

  • New battery for Torch 9800

I need a UK supplier for a NEW torch 9800 battery - having amazing difficulty finding one.
Blackberry do not seem to provide one.

Amazon is always a first thought. Have you already checked? Is it an option for you?
I expect an online purchase is going to be your only recourse. I don't know best sources for UK, however. See what others say.

  • Outlook 2013 is it compatible with Torch 9800

This may seem to be an obvious answer but I can't find it anywhere on the bb site.  I want to purchase Outlook 2013 but want to make sure I can synch it with my Torch 9800.  I assume I can but can someone please verify?  I really appreciate your help.

Torch 9800 is compatible with Outlook 2010.  Found it!

  • Using Desktop 4.2 with torch 9800

I'm looking at a new torch 9800.  I have to be able to use DM 4.2 because nothing newer will sync with "lotus Organizer 6.0" so I have two questions.
    1. Will I still be able to use DM 4.2 to sync with the torch 9800 from computer #1?
    2. Assuming I am still abe to use DM 4.2, can I also use DM 6 from another computer for other things?

According to this article, KB26181, there is an issue using DTM 5.0.1 and older wiht phones that were released with 6.0 as their initial OS.

  • I can't send a photo by text - New user, Blackberry Torch 9800

I recently started using the Blackberry Torch 9800 and I'm still getting the hang of things.
This means I'm at the stage where i'm still accidentally muting myself while i leave a phone message or putting people on hold with my ear.  If anyone has a master solution for this, that's welcomed, but it's not my main question.
I want to know how to send a photo by text.  I've tried, and it comes up with an x next to it, as it hasn't sent.
i looked around the internet and found the suggestion that I resize my images using some app.  The app they suggested doesn't exist anymore so I downloaded "Fast Photo Editor Free" and resized my image.  It still didn't send.  I made it smaller than you'd ever want an image to be, and it still wouldn't send.
To be clear, I can put the photo in the text, but once I push send, the text shows up with a red x next to it.
I'm not really sure what to do.

    Hello irishduck
    Welcome to the Community
You may try contacting you Carrier as there might be settings that they can do on their end to let you send the MMS. You may also wanna check these pages to help you familiarize with your phone.

  • My mac don't detect phone torch 9800

need help with back berry torch 9800 to be recognize but my mac
need to now if i need antivirus for my blackberry torch

sure, I can try, anyways. You'd have to set up a  new wireless network  for your time capsule, or use the ethernet cable.  check out time machine preferences
where you can select disk for Time Machine use. You'd have to use Airport utility, and plug in your wireless router and modem to your time capsule.  Also, there should be a little hole on the back of your time capsule for resetting it. use a straightened paper clip to reset it until the light changes colour, then run Airport utility and it should "find" your Time capsule, then you can set up Time Capsule backup. I think you might want to to check under System preferences, then Network.....
sorry, that's all I have for now

  • How can i find out serial no of torch 9800 without the phone.

How do I find out serial no of my torch 9800 without the physical phone ( is it in the packaging to the brand new phone?) so that I can report it being stolen and alert anyone buying a stolen hanset in 2nd hand Market. Who should I report it having been stolen after repotted it having been stolen to the police.

Your cell carrier would have a record of it. They might even blacklist the phone so nobody else can use it.
Give them a call to see what they will do for you.

I have the option to activate my old email  in the menu "Email Account Activation" but when I try to verify my password I have an error message " Sorry, unable to continue your session. Yes.  You can use Telus's self-serve BIS site from where you can add, delete and edit email accounts for your phone from your PC.  You'll have to call Telus to get a user/pass combo but it's worth doing.
Secondly, if you don't want to bother with that option, you can type www.blackberry.com/integrate from your phone's browser.  That will get you the same results as the first link I gave to you.
    I hope that helps you.

  • Torch 9800 new sim

    Hi
I have my sister's old Torch 9800. Unfortunately my SIM is very old and I can't do anything apart from the basics. Can I get a new SIM card, and keep my old number? I also need a media card.

    Hello force690
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
Replacing your old SIM card is not a big problem , you should contact your Carrier Orange to get a new SIM Apart from Basis what other feature you're looking for ? If you want BIS then Contact Orange to activate it in your account.
Same is for Media card , you can try any Mobile shop .
