Can't Synch Selected Albums from iPhoto to iPhone

I'm trying to sync "Selected Albums" in iPhoto from iTunes, but the option is grayed out, so I can only choose "All photos and albums." I do have albums created in iPhoto. What's the problem?

I'm having the same problem as well. My iPhoto has about 15 albums, all with standard naming conventions (no numbers, letters, crazy characters) and I only have the option to sync "all photos" or "last import." iPhone does not recognize any of the albums I have created in iPhone. I can sync all photos, but I've got a couple gig worth of photos that I don't need on my iPhone.

Hi, I'm having no problems getting photos off my iphone and currently have an empty camera roll. The problem is, I can't get photo albums to sync from iTunes. I get an 'unknown error (-50) each time.
No problem with syncing a folder, but that's a pain as it's a much more tedious way of doing things.
All software us upto date in iTunes, iPhoto, iPhone and I'm running Leopard on a MacBook.

Hi - similar problem: cannot sync iphoto events to my new iphone 4. Itunes goes halfway through the process of reformatting the photos, sometimes restarting this process, then tells me everything is synced....but no photos have been moved to my iphone.

Help! I'm having trouble moving iPhoto (OS 10.7.4) albums/photos back to iPhone 4S (OS 5.1.1). I previously uploaded all photos from iphone to iphoto and parsed into albums. I deleted all photos from iphone. I followed apple instructions to move selected albums from iphoto to iphone, and iTunes shows synched, but no albums or images on displaying on my iPhone.

This is clearly a request to move the iPhoto library to an external hard drive and run it there
The instructions for doing that are
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
It is NOT possible to do that on a USB Stick!

How do you import selected albums from iphoto?

I'm new to Aperture, and want to start by importing only selected (ie my best) albums from iPhoto.
I've tried File > Import > Show iPhoto Browser, and can highlight the album I want to import. But then what do I do?

In my test, they came in managed. IMHO it's not a good idea to reference files inside the iPhoto library. I think it's a disaster waiting to happen.

Couple of things:
was able to use the iPhoto Export menu and export directly to an external flash drive. I was also able to select and drag the photos from iPhoto directly to the drive
Depending on the settings used that can yield exporting and dragging can produce very different results. This User Tip

and apparently the limit on the number of files is above anything I have done so far.
The limit is to the number of items on the Tope Level I of the drive. I can't recall it exactly but it's a multiple of 32, hence the trick is to put the image into a folder, that way there's only one item at the top level.

HT2265 for some reason the only photos that do the random scrolling are events, can I include the albums from iphoto to scroll as well. the know the albums have synced because i can view them in slideshow

Welcome to the Apple Community.
I assume you are referring to the screensaver. You can change the photos used by the screensaver in the screensaver settings. Note if you have a large number of photos in the collection you choose for screensaver, not all of them will be used due to the limited storage available to the Apple TV.

Syncing albums from iPhoto to iPhone doesn't get complete albums

I am trying to sync an albums from iPhoto on a Macbook Pro to an iPhone 4 and I'm running into a problem where some albums are only partially transferred to the iPhone. Eg, there's an album in iPhoto that contains 9 images, and iTunes shows me that count, but when I (directly through USB cable) hook up the iPhone and sync, only one of them appears in the corresponding album on the iPhone. I think I understand the procedure, and I've pulled the images out of the Photostream to build the album, but can anyone think of why on some albums but not all, not all images in the iPhoto version of the album get transferred?

I do know there are different types of jpegs, exactly how or if that affects whether you can use them with a mobile I'm not sure. Use iPhoto to see if you can see some obvious differences between the photos.
All the photos are selected for sharing from the advanced menu I presume.

Can't synch selected albums to touch with OS4.0

In the past I could drag an album from iTunes to the touch and they would synch up.
I upgraded to OS4.0 (touch 2nd gen.(Complete nightmare, but after 3 hours of messing, got the thing to unbrick itself and start as a fresh rebuild)
Now I can only select from Artist's or Play Lists to Synch songs.
Any idea's on the Album dragging thing?

IPod Preference table to select album from iphoto

For some reason, after I restored my ipod with the ipod updater, now I can not select specific album from my iPhoto at the Preference table. It only gives me the option to synchronize the entire iPhoto library or none at all. The option to select certain albums is "gray" and does not allow me to enable it. I had try a lot of options from this forum including the 5 R's and still does not work.
The main reason of why I decided to run an ipod restore was because it was giving me an error message when I try to update my ipod with new songs and photos. The songs were updated, but not the photos. After trying multiple things suggested at this forum, I went to the ipod restore option to then get into this problem that I didn't have before. Any help????

How can I copy selected photos from iPhoto on my iMac to my iPhone 6?

I used to have many photos on my iPhone 6. I also have thousands of photos on my iMac. After iDrive became available I decided to try it, and uploaded my large photos library to my iPhone and iPad. After using it for awhile I decided against keeping all these photos on my other devices. I removed everything from iDrive and my IOS devices. Now I'd like to find a way to restore some of my photos to IOS devices.
I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to do that.

Put the photos you want to upload to your iPhone in an album in iPhoto. Connect the iPhone to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on your iPhone icon
and then on Photos
Next check Sync Photos and Selected albums. Find the album with the photos you want to upload and select it.
Lastly click on the Sync button.

How can I import selected photos from iPhoto into Premiere Elements on the Mac?

I run Premiere Elements on a Mac (Lion O/S). I have more than 13,000 photos in iPhoto that I would like to be able to access from Premiere (to include shots relevant to the video I am compiling). How do I do this?
I also have Photoshop Elements but not yet installed it since I do not want to replicate all these photos - will consume too much hard drive space.

The way I do this on my iMac : I select the required photos in iPhoto, then I export them on a specific folder I create for the video,
generally a subpart of the area where I have captured my HDV footage with Premiere Elelements.
Then, I import these specific pictures in my Premiere Elements project.
For Photoshop Elements, it has 2 parts : the organizer of your library, which requires to create a copy of your photos, and the modifier
which you can use as a complement to iPhoto only to modify your pictures with possibilities given by Photoshop.
As I have enough space on external hard drive, I use Photoshop and iPhoto to have permanently a back-up copy of my pictures.
It was my choice related to my configuration.

IOS7 - why can't I select album from artist list in music app

I like listening to an album (often on repeat) and sometimes I only want to listen to one of the albums by an artist.
With the iOS7 music player, I can't seem to do this. There doesn't seem to be an option for listening to an album on repeat (unless maybe making a separate playlist or browsing by album only).
I find browsing my library by artist the easiest then narrowing down by album, but when I do this, the album will not be able to be selected from the artist. It simply starts on the album I want and then plays everything by that artist.
This is a major pain... why isn't there either a "Repeat All - Album" or the old option of selecting an album from within a particular artist's repertoire ?
Any help is appreciated if I'm missing something here...other than features that used to exist....

How can I delete an album from iPhoto?

I've just downloaded the iPhoto app for iOS 6. While experimenting with it, I created an album but I can't delete it. Has anyone else had this problem, and how can I delete it? I've hidden the photo but can't remove the album!

As far as I know all the albums and photos that you have in the Photos app will appear in the iPhoto app
