Can't Tether / Start Mobile Internet

I have my Tour 9630 (Sprint) connected to my Windows 7 computer and I start BlackBerry Desktop Manager.  I click on Tools>Start Mobile Internet... and I receive the following error message:
Failed to start Mobile Internet
The remote computer did not respond.
Please check your profile settings and make sure your radio is turned on.  This service might also have been turned off by your wireless service provider or your administrator.
Anybody know what I can do to get it working?

What did your phone carrier say when you called them?
If you have no 3/4G data, you can try a reset, hold down the hme/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
If that doesn't work then do the first suggestion.

    Hi, I've got a Laptop that will not tether.
    Firstly, I've tried 3 different Blackberries all from the same service provider. All 3 of these devices are able to tether on other laptops/desktops.
    I try to tether on this one laptop (Dell Vostro, not that it matters, I have other Vostro's and other Dells that work fine...) and it immediatly gives the error:

    There was a connection error.
    I know I can tether with the Blackberry, I know the proper ISP settings... Any ideas? It fails immediatly.

    Hello Strider,
    I like you to check out in device manager if you have under ports two ones named: RIM Virtual Serial Port v2(COMXX) where XX in my case is COM10 and COM11 but would be different in your case.
    If you don't have these 2 virtual ports then somebody installed the DTM not under the 'Administrator' account. DTM will install also under a user account  and works OK except not for tethering which needs a standard modem driver via the 2 virtual ports.
    I suggest to do a clean uninstall (see link)

    under the current user account and then re-install DTM 610_b034_multilanguage.exe  under an admin account and give the user a link to the DTM (it is probably still on his/her desktop).

    I have a Blackberry Storm 9550.  When I connect it to my computer, it syncs just fine.  But then when I click the "Mobile Internet" button, it won't connect.  This was working in the past.  I have not made any profile or configuration changes to this phone, nor changed plans.  Any idea what might be causing this?
    The error message I get:
    Failed to start Mobile Internet
    Initialization of Mobile Internet failed.

  • AppStore charged first and then told me i can not download through mobility internet. how to get money back?

    i just about had it with this incompatibility. you offer micro card slots for mobility internet, but i can not use the app store with that?
    please could someone tell me how i get my money back for an app the appstore wont let me download?
    there is no wifi where i am, just lte and 3g.
    this is fraud at its best... first charge me and then tell me i can not download because it is 100 mb?!?!?!

    Hello, I'm using 02 services around 1 year, but just few weeks ago started to be very bad connection, specially mobile internet , its not ofen it does work, my friend is using 02 too, but if we are together- she has mobile internet and when i turn on, all emails and etc doesn't come or come afterwards, sometimes we both can;t even use mobile internet, because it shows low signal. SOmetimes even if i turn WIFI, the connection is bad and shows not full signal. Can you help me please??  Kind Regards,Sigita

    I advised you to check the postcode to see if any network issues were reported that could effect your signal, but, from the additional info you have given us it could be a phone or sim fault.
    You might want to visit an O2 shop and ask them to do a sim swap for you.

    So my question is: Can I tether the internet connection from a smartphone to my iPod? With which smartphone or mobile OS other than iPhone/iOS?
    I don't want to JB my iPod Touch.
    I heard that smartphones with Android can tether the internet connection to iPod Touch, bu I am not sure, I searched the internet but couldn't find anything as I wanted.

    I've got a (now considered ancient) Nokia N95 8 GB mobile, with the app JoikuSpot Light on it - has been working really well though I wouldn't suggest buying Nokia if you were going to buy a new mobile...if you happen to get your hands on an old-ish Nokia or Ericsson (Symbian platform) Joiku will do a good job of creating a wifi hotspot.     But when I try to restart the service..

  • I can't join mobile internet and am being told I am out of data when I'm not?

    I was hoping someone could help me. About a week ago I stopped being able to use roaming internet, sometimes the pages attempt to load for a long time before telling me there are connection problems and other times I am told that I am out of data and need to top up. I don't get why it would be either of these things as I've used the internet before in those locations and a signal is being picked up, and I just brought a new packet three days ago with 2gb of data which I've not been able to use because I can't access mobile internet and haven't come close to using the 2gb of data in any previous months. Any advice would be great, thank you.

  • How can I find out info on a possible mobile internet outage?

    I have a verizon MIFI 2200 mobile internet device. I have had internet connection issues with it since yesterday (Sunday afternoon).  Desktop computer, IPOD touch, & my laptop all show that they are connected to the mifi.  Internet signal strength is good, shows at least 3 bars.  But we cannot connect to the internet, the page will not load.  Called tech support yesterday.  They ran all basic diagnostics on my laptop settings, and no problems were found.  One support guy said that he saw "tickets" on outage issues, but he could not see where those issues were. 
    After 2 hrs on the phone with tech support and finding no solution, we went to the Verizon store.  We decided to go ahead & upgrade to a jetpack mobile device since our unit is 2 yrs old.  While the sales lady was setting up our new unit, she also had the same connection problem.  We also heard other customers in the background with the similar issue.  I can't find out any other info on this.  Nobody seems to know that there is an outage problem, BUT THERE IS AN OUTAGE PROBLEM!  Can someone please help me?  All I want to know is, "Is there an outage problem with Mobile internet/over the air (satellite) in the middle Tenneessee area & when will it be fixed?"

    Yes, there is an issue.  Like you, I've had issues and finally (after 2 tries) got through (after a ridiculous wait time) to tech support.  They said that there is a mobile data outage resulting from the storms this past weekend. 
    As typical, Verizon has balked at being more proactive and providing outage notifications but instead would prefer to frustrate customers by forcing them to call in, consuming ridiculous amounts of support representative time, and further lowering customer satisfaction. 
    Verizon remains a "bi-polar" organization, with some great technology (albeit also with some very poor stuff as well such as the infamous 4150L) but with some of the absolute worst customer service that has ever existed on this planet.

  • Can´t get mobile internet function on ZTE OPEN C

    Wi-fi functions fine. But I can´t get mobile internet running. My provider gave me following settings:
    Internet
    APN: Click
    IP Address: assigned by the network
    DNS 1 Adresse: 213.055.128.001
    DNS 2 Adresse: 213.055.128.002
    Benutzername: -
    Passwort: -
    Proxy: deactivated
    But there are not such fields in data settings. There is only APN, Identifier, Password, HTTP proxy host/port and authentication.

    hi JL,
    I would try putting click in as the APN in Settings > Cellular & Data > Data Settings and also in A-GPS settings under APN. Then enable the Data connection. Otherwise I might also try gprs.swisscom.ch or internet as the APN.
