Can't tftp to 1142 AP

I can't get connectivity from laptop to AP using cross over or straight through cable to do a tftp transfer from tftp server on laptop to ap.
I held the mode button on ap and powered on to get to rommon.  The ap has no ios so it goes to rommon anyway.  ap light is blinking red.

I set my laptop ip to 10.0.0.3  225.255.255.224, gw 10.0.0.1.
Also tried setting the ap gw to 10.0.0.3    It works with no gw when doing cross over cable with a router.
laptop can't ping ap at 10.0.0.1.
If I let the ap boot up it says an error with ethernet port.
Any ideas?  There's no xmodem file transfer for ap's like on routers?

What is the image name?
I would suggest that you use /24 subnet mask and use the PCs IP as the gateway.
Try to configure your ethernet card on the PC to match the duplex and speed of the AP.

  • Help -- Can we deploy BC4J app to the OC4J in 9i DS?

    Hi Experts,
I have built an BC4J application using the Jdeveloper of 9i Developer Suite. The app runs fine within Jdev (using the embeded OC4J), and runs pretty well when it is automatically deployed to a stand-alone OC4J (9.0.2.0.0). Since the stand-alone OC4J does not "serve" reports, I had to "deployed" the reports to the OC4J bound with 9iDS. (All these stuff are on the same Win2000 machine, but different Oracle homes.)
Now, when I tried to deploy the entire application to the 9iDS-bound OC4J, it did not work. I used Jdev to deploy it to the iAS automatically (just like deploying it to the stand-alone OC4J), and the processes finished without any errors . However, when I pointed the browser to the app in the 9iDS server, I got the 404 error.
I compared a few configuration files, like server.xml, http-web-site.xml, application.xml, web.xml, etc. in the stand-alone and 9iDS-bound OC4J's and did not find obvious difference. The structure of the two applications directories are very much the same, too.
THERE IS an obvious difference in the two application-deployments directories though: On the stan-alone OC4J, there is a persistence\_pages subdirectory under my app home directory, which does not exist On the 9iDS-bound OC4J.
Anyone has any ideas on the whys and hows please? Thank you very much.

  • How can I run the firmware of WRT54G ?

I bought Wireless WRT54G ver6 in U.S and it worked well. But now I have business in Vietnam so I carried on but the power light is blinking, I used adaptor with input 220V and output 12V, 500mA. I also downloaded  the firmware WRT54Gv5v6_v1[1].02.0_fw.bin as I read in FAQ but how can I open that file, I can not use Winzip to open. Thank you for helping me

You cannot open .bin file, first off all let me know is power light is still blinking?? If not…check the IP address of computer that is getting from router, try to ping 192.168.1.1 (default IP of router), If you are getting replies you can upgrade the firmware… you can use TFTP application, logon to following link and download tftp.exe… ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/

  • TFTP Server in Snow Leopard

Running a MacBook Pro unibody here. Posted this in the regular Snow Leopard forums, and it was suggested I post here as well. In 10.5.8, I was using TFTP Server (v3.2.1) to configure and start OS X TFTP server. It worked pretty well, and gave a nice GUI interface for configuring. In 10.6, the program still works, but I cannot seem to start the tftp server. I've gone into Terminal and have tried various methods of starting tftpd there, and while the command runs, I get a "tftpd failed to start". I know enough about CLI/Unix/Linux to be dangerous, but am by no means a guru. Anybody else seen this? Suggestions? I'm OK if I need to start the service via terminal until the developer can fix TFTP Server, but at this point, it looks like something has changed in this regard on Snow Leopard.
    Thanks!

  • Change "Alternate TFTP" setting to "no" on phone

    Hi All,
I have several phones on couple of my clusters which have "Alternate TFTP" setting set to "Yes" and TFTP Server 1 and 2 are defined.
Now i want to change "Alternate TFTP" setting to "No", so phones can take TFTP server IP address from DHCP.
Regarding above, i have couple of queries:
    - is it possible to generage a report which shows phone details which has above settings
    - is it possible to change above setting remotely in bulk(manually would not be possible as i am not aware of which all phones have above settings and where are these phones located)
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes,
Here are a couple of videos:
This gives an general overview of the product and some of the things it can do:

Note: We also have a built-in model independent macro for changing TFTP settings, so you shouldn't need to record any macros if it's just changing the AltTFTP setting

  • Cascade scxi 1142 with scxi 1140

I would like to cascade an SCXI 1142 with an SCXI 1140. I've come across a knoeledge base article indicating I can only do this with an SCXI 1140 Rev F or later.
I have two SCXI 1140's but with a REV: 1_ on a label on the exterior of the module. I looked for a revision number on the circuit board as per the user manual but there is none.
These SCXI 1140 modules would have been purchased quite a number of years ago.
I would like to know if I can cascade SCXI 1142's with my version of SCXI 1140's?
If the answer is no, what are my options for filtering?
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi Brian,
I'm assuming this is the KB you are talking about.
Interesting that you can't find the revision or part information on the 1140 board itself. Another way to check to see if the module can be cascaded is to see if there is a 16 pin connector on the board inside the module. The SCXI-1352 Installation Guide and Tutorial: Cascading SCXI Modules have more information in terms of where the internal 16 pin connector is located and what it might look like. If the connector is on the board then you will be able to cascade the module with the 1142 using the SCXI-1352 cable kit.
If you do not have the later revision of the 1140 with this internal connector I'm not sure what other options you have. Really, probably the easiest thing to do is to get the newer revision of the 1140 that allows cascading. Do you need the signals to be simultaneously sampled using the T/H module? If not, you can just use the 1142 module for filtering, but you will have channel to channel skew.
    Hopefully this helps,

  • Jabber on Android and CUCM 8.6.2

    Hello.
We are trying to use jabber on a galaxy android tablet, but we can't register client to CUCM 8.6.2.
    I've followed this guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_configuration_example09186a0080bb5104.shtml
for cucm configuration, I've installed cop files, restarted publisher and subscriber, and also tomcat service.
When we start jabber on galaxy tablet, we insert the two parameters needed (ip address of cucm and device name), but after a while it return an error message that say us to control configuration.
Tablet is connected to wifi network and can reach CUCM via ping or web page.
    Thanks for any suggestion.
    Daniele

    Hi
Have you added the 'Dual mode for Android' device to CUCM? If so, perhaps screen grab your config.
Also unless you have other wireless voice devices already, verify that your wireless LAN can route to the CUCMs and can access TFTP and other ports on that subnet.

  • WRT54G V3 Web Gui recieves "connection reset" errors on all pages

    Hello,
I was recently having some connection problems with my WRT54G and decided to upgrade the firmware. The router has been stable for quite some time before the last week. The firmware was from linksys and it uploaded fine and rebooted and all was great.
When I tried to reconfigure the router settings I ran into trouble. None of the html forms will submit. All of them get "connection reset" errors when I try and update the information. Apparently there was an error in flashing or something. So I think, no prob, I'll just re-flash. Except that the firmware upgrade form also gets connection reset.
If I type in 192.168.1.1/apply.cgi it works...no connection reset (though nothing comes out). I have a hunch that if I were able to custom form the HTTP post header it might go through.
I tried TFTPing the new firmware to the router and had no success. Granted I am a mac user so I was in the terminal window instead of using the proprietary tftp util. I always get "transfer timed out" errors. I tried starting the transfer before the router responded to a ping, after, before the power light started flashing, after that, and after it went solid too.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Try to update firmware using TFTP program from a windows based PC. You can get tftp from ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/

    Hi,
I am looking for ways to save the current configuration and to retrieve it for later purposes. Is it possible to do so?
We have only one CAR and multiple people are using it. So the CAR has to re-configured for different people purpose. It will be useful if we are able to store the current working configuration of CAR and later be able to retrieve it.
Please tell me whether this is possible. I couldn't find same information from Cisco CAR documentation.
    Thanks,

You can use TFTP server to backup & Restore the configuration file. Here is the step by step procedure to back & restore the configuration file click this link.

  • WRVS4400N reset ?

just bought a Linksys Wireless Router (WRVS4400N) and updated the firmware but once the router rebooted... the red DIAG light turned on and it stays on..... i tried resetting the router but it it doesn't seem to get this router configured correctly and can't access the configuration screen. Any other solution to this or is the router defective ?

if the red diag light is on that means that the firmware upgrade failed you can do the firmware upgrade again provided that you can still ping the router. you can either tftp the file using the command promtp or get a tftp.exe file on this ftp site ftp.linksys.com

  • Upgrade license from Eval to Permanent

We had 2 3945e routers as hubs for DMVPN which ordered with the appropriate hseck9 license but inadvertantely placed on the network without the hseck9 license being installed.  2 weeks ago, after adding several DMVPN tunnels we noticed the performance hit and got eval licenses in place on the 2 offending routers.  I now have PAKs for permanent hseck9 licenses and am wondering if I need to clear the active hseck9 eval license before installing the permanent license, or if I can just tftp over the new file, issue the command license install flash0:........lic and be in business.  This link:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/sw_activation/SA_on_ISR.html#wp1097551
seems to indicate the latter and no reload should be necessary.  Can anyone confirm this?
    Thanks,

Thanks Marvin.  The eval license for the HSECK9 did NOT however require a reload (per the Cisco TAC engineer who assisted us in installing it).  So I just want to make sure that the upgrade won't either.

    Hi Abrante
thanks for your response but the issue of tftpboot still seems to be there. I am unable to find the issue here. We users try to load their images from the /tftpboot directory on the routers they get the following error messages
Error loading file: errno = 0x3c.
    Can't load boot file!!
They are able to connect to another tftpboot server without any issues at all. I am not sure if I have missed out any configuration parameters while enabling tftp. Is there anywhy I can find tftp log files on the server.

  • Clone a Cisco router - best practices?

    Hello
Recently I had a task to clone Cisco 881 router, I mean I had to transfer a config from one 881 to another.
However, I faced some issues with this task:
SSH doesn't work after the transfer, as I understand it is required to regenerate certificates, consequently it is mandatory to activate telnet before transfer, because I didn't have console access: routers are in the datacenter
AAA wil not work, I had to delete all aaa strings from the config
IOS images should be transfered first as well ass IPS signatures
username password + service password encryption will result an impossibility to login, username secret should be used
Probably, there are even more possible problems which I don't know. How do you guys clone routers? Maybe there are some best practises?
I used TFTP for transfering config and I have a question concerning it: when I do copy tftp run it overwrites running config or append it?
    Thank you in advance.

When working as a field engineer and swapping out a router I would always strip out all of the AAA config and just apply a simple "username cisco priv 15  password cisco" and then get the router operational. The last thing you want to be doing is trying to work out why you can't login when you are trying to restore service. Once it is up and running and you are happy with it then you can save the config.
Next you would reapply the AAA config. Assuming nothing has changed  (IP addresses, TACAC+ shared secret etc.) then it should just work. And at this point if it does lock you out you can just reboot the box because you saved the config at the point that the router was operational but before you applied the AAA config.
In order to generate the RSA key for SSH you would do "crypto key generate rsa"
Once you have SSH configured you can use TFTP / FTP / SCP to transfer any files to flash. I like to use WINSCP.
To my knowledge there is not an easy way to "clone" a router - there are always a few tasks that need doing manually.
