Can't transfer audio track

I upgraded to Pro, but can't use the feature I really need right now. I want to take an audio track from one movie and put it in another. The help instructions under "transfer tracks" seems simple, but I can't get them to work. Help please! I'm way past a deadline.
G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Dual 1.25 GHz, 1 GB RAM

If the source movie has only one track, such as DV, you'll have to do an Export Sound to AIFF first and then open that AIFF back in QuickTime Player. If the movie does have a sound track, then just get movie properties, select the sound track, and click the Extract button.
Either way you should now have a window with the sound in it. Select All and Copy that, then open your destination movie, make sure you're at the start, and do an Add to Movie. Then Save As self contained and you should be done.

I set the the core audio driver as in/output on audio preferences. still do´nt work.
I can import wav´s and I can hear them but I can´t record.
Do I need an external USB Interface or is a driver missing? What might be wrong in my setup.
please help!!! It drives me nuts.

In the arrange window, there's a VIEW menu. Click on it and you can select which buttons, etc. you want to see.

  • How can I include audio tracks (to play on a Cd player)???

I'm sure this is possible... but I wanted to add audio tracks to make the DVD play on a conventional cd player (but only the tracks i want to play)..... any suggestions?

the laser of a CD player can't physically read DVD media. All professional cds with dvd tracks are created via the DualDisc method. One side cd, the other side DVD.
The process is acheived at the replication house.
This can be created via dvdsp by sending the replicator your dvd project and the audio cd and they sandwhich them so to speak.

  • Quicktime movie with 3 audio tracks. Can't select audio track!

I have a movie containing 3 audio tracks (3 different languages):
    Format: H.264, 720x304, 16,7 Mio
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
When I play this movie with Apple Quicktime I hear a mix of all 3 languages at the same time. How can I select each audio track separately. With VLC player (freeware) it works fine.
Is the selection of the audio tracks a feature of Quicktime Pro or is this a bug in Quicktime?!

    Hello lildog, hello QuickTimeKirk,
Thank you for your answer. In the meantime I solved this problem. It is caused by the program ”MP4Box” which I used to create the video with the 3 audio tracks. Apple Quicktime and iTunes needs ”very special” header settings inside the mp4 container. A new version of MP4Box with special switches for this case solves the problem. For more details see this thread on the gpac/MP4Box project homepage: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?threadid=2345177&forumid=287547
The VLC Player is much more docile with multiple audio tracks.

  • Which app can convert TWO audio tracks - MXF files to FCPX?

  • Can't switch audio tracks after updating to Yosemite

Previously, I was able to choose different audio tracks in the QuickTime Player (for instance, director commentary or stereo vs. surround sound) in Mavericks, but now after updating to Yosemite, whenever I try to change the language/track by using the on-screen shortcut or by going to View -> Languages, it shows "English" listed twice with check marks next to each.
There is no way to select one of the other because it seems both are checked, though, obviously, it only uses the first in the list.
I have used QuickTime Player to switch audio tracks on all my files before updating to Yosemite, now it doesn't work for any. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Seems like a bug. Are they aware of the issue?

  • HT1152 Can I transfer audio tapes to my computer

how do I transfer audio cassette tape to my Apple?

You will need to connect the audio output jacks on the cassette deck (usually RCA) to the audio input port of your MAC.
You also will need the appropriate third party software to convert the analog output to digital.  I used Spin Doctor several years ago with mixed success. Look for alternatives.
    Ciao.

  • Can you export audio tracks as AIFF? I dont get it!

I recorded some audio narration tracks and I am trying to export just the tracks one by one into an audio editing program.
Can you only export audio files to iTunes??????
Is there a way to export the files as normal audio files?
    Thank you!

    Ok, will do. Thanks!!!
So they don't let you set your own sample rates and such. That is pretty darn lame. Very limited control.

  • Can you add audio tracks as selectable menu items on a dvd? I shot a wedding where the church had its own set up to record audio. I'm trying to make those songs performed by the artists available for viewers of the dvd to select for listening.?

I'm trying to make audio (MP3) tracks available for viewers of this Wedding dvd to select for listening. Is this possible in iDVD?

You will need to create a slide show for each of those songs with a minimum of 1 photo per slideshow and add the song to the slideshow audio bin. Set the audio to Fit to Music.
In your top/main menu add a submenu for the list of songs.
Add a slideshow for each song with the "+" button at the bottom:
Select the link in the menu and rename it for the song used in the slideshow.  You can create a slide image for each song with the song name, composer, singer, etc. on the image to be used for the slideshow  An image editor or Pages can be used for that and then convert to a jpeg file for use in iDVD.
The song/playlist menu could look like this depending on the theme you choose:

  • Can't transfer audio mp3 from Itunes to my Ipod

I have been downloading audio books from my local library for years using over drive.  I have downloaded them using WMA, but for some reason the audio books I request are coming in MP3 (I haven't a clue why).  I download the audio to over drive, then transfer the file to my IPod nano (4th or 5th generation).  It looks like everything is transferring as usual,  But after ejecting my ipod from the computer and look for my book, there is nothing there.
I thought my Ipod devise accepted MP3 format?  I'm a novice and don't if the issue is with my Ipod nano, ITunes, or overdrive?
Can someone help me clear up my problem?
    Thaks

I had the same thing happen to me.
All I had to do was reset the iPhone. If you don't know, just hold the home button down at the bottom of your screen and the power button at the same time. After 10 seconds, it may ask if you want to power down - keep holding - it will reset. Don't power down.

  • Can I transfer audio tapes to my Mac?

What equipment is needed to get audio tapes into my PowerBook G4 (and then burn to CDs? I have never used GarageBand. Is it used for this purpose?
Where do I find the easiest instructions to save these old tapes using my Mac?
Thanks for any tips you have!
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Here's an outline
    - Find a tape deck with "line out" jacks
    - Connect a cable from the line out jacks to your PB G4's audio input jack
    - Get some audio recording software. Amadeus is good, and not expensive
    - In Amadeus, and/or System Preferences, set the audio input to be line level (not microphone level)
    - Press the "Play" button on your deck.
    - Tinker with Amadeus' record level slider until it's about right.
    - Start a new recording in Amadeus; press Play; when tape ends save the file
    - Use Amadeus to break the single audio file into separate multiple files, each containing a single CD track as desired.
    - Load the files into iTunes. Use iTunes to burn a CD
    Various details omitted.
This is not the only way, but all of the steps are necessary in some form or other. That is, the details can vary, but this is the gist of it.

  • How can I 'join' audio tracks when importing audio book?

    HELP!!
In the latest version of iTunes, 11.0.1, I can't find the 'JOIN Tracks' button which is needed when importing an audio CD to keep each disc treated as one book instead of storing each chapter as a separte entry.  Without this, I can't find a way to keep the chapters to play in proper order as each CD, starts with chapter 01.
    Thank you for your help

    Join CD tracks
When you import songs from a CD into iTunes, you can group songs so they always play together (even when you’re shuffling songs).
Insert an audio CD into your computer’s CD or DVD drive, and click No in the window that appears.
When the songs on the CD appear in the iTunes window, hold down the Shift key to select the ones you want to join.
Click near the top-right of the iTunes window, and choose Join CD Tracks.
