Can't transfer Calendar and contacts from my torch to the Z10

I have read a number of issues that people have posted regarding transferring contacts, calendar, and memos from a Torch to the Z10.
I am having the same issues.  I was able to sync my media and email contacts, but the the others will not transfer.
Can anyone help.
Thanks

I had the same issues. Make a hotmail address. Sync the Torch with hotmail if it ossible. If not sync with Outlook from the Torch. Install the Hotmail sync software from MS for Outlook. now sync Outlook with hotmail.
Active the hotmail account on the Z10 and allow full sync options. It could take an hour fir the full sync to take place because it will do it with minimum data usage over time. I have over 1000 entries. Mine took over two hours to sync.
The advantage with this is you now have a cloud type backup of everything.
I did get reliable news that BB is supposed to come with an Outlook sync for the Z10 Link software. There is also some news of a possible new tablet coming this summer. The tablet one is more of rumor at this time.

  • Transfer calendar and contacts from iPhone to iMac and Mobileme

    Hello
I know this question is touched upon regularly, but I am overwhelmed by the richness of the information!
The address book and calendar on my iPhone are complete and up to date. I want to transfer them to my new iMac and and to my MobileMe account, replacing (or adding to) the incomplete subsets on these. Can some kind person explain in noddy terms what I do? I am confused whether my starting point should be iTunes, settings on the iPhone or preferences on MobileMe.
Once all three places have the same information, I hope to keep the three in sync - if I can work out how.
    thanks in advance

    Hi
After much struggling the problem has been solved. Although the solution did not come from this list, I thought I would tell you what I did, in case it helps someone else in the same situation.
I think the two things which helped were:
    - deleting all entries from the Mac and MobileMe
    - creating a new MobileMe account on the iPhone settings (it was exactly the same as the old one, but, who knows...)

How do I back up the calendar and contacts from my iPhone5 to my new macbook pro(10.8.3)? I have backed up the phone, but it does not transfer the calendar or the contacts. If I check them in the sync area and then back up the phone again will they transfer or be erased? I am a bit gun shy since my previous macbook pro committed suicide and I lost a ton of info there.

Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer.

  • TS2776 How can I transfer e-mail contacts from one IPad to another?

How can I transfer e-mail contacts from one IPad to another?

Depends on how big the file is.  If itis only a couple of pages, or mostly text, the easiest way would be to e mail it.  If it is a very large file you are going to need wifi.  Take both pads to starbucks, and e mail it from there.  Or if you have wifi, use drop box, for example.
Your other choice, avoiding wifi would be a bluetooth type transfer.  There is an app call bluetooth file lite that reads like it will do what you need.   The good news is it is free.  The bad news is that it has terrible ratings.  For grins, i am installing it now on a pad and a phone, and will see if it works.
With a bluetooth method, you need both devices in  the same place.  If you are trying to send your file across country, bluetooth will not work for you.  you need e mail or drop box type solution, and if the file is big, you will almost certainly need wifi.

  • Unable to move Calendar and Contacts from 9810 (OS7) to Z10 on Rogers.

I have tried both BB Link and SD Card device transfers and both don't work for my Contacts and Calendar.
I am with Rogers and my Calendar is associated with my rogers.blackberry.net email which is no longer supported on OS 10.  How can I move the calendar entries over?  I think they moved over, but since I can't sent the rogers.blackberry.net email up, they will not show.
For my contacts, when I look at my OS 7 contact options, they are associated with "Unknown".   This may have started when I switched from my BB9800 (OS 6) to my BB9810 (OS7).  I believe the contacts all moved over to the SD card during the device switch, but they too are invisible until I add "Unknown" email address.  LOL
My question is this:  Since these two items appear to have been saved to the file on the SD card, is there a way to edit these two files directly to re-associated them with a more "correct" email address?
Rogers BB Support will not support me.

    Hey RalleyMeister,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest checking out this KB article on data that is not migrated over to the BlackBerry Z10: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB33523
Your best bet is to synchronize the calendar and contacts from the BlackBerry Torch 9810 to Microsoft Outlook or a Gmail account and then have it synchronized wirelessly to your BlackBerry Z10.   Follow the steps in this blog to setup Outlook to wirelessly synchronize that data: http://helpblog.blackberry.com/2013/02/how-to-setup-outlook-to-wirelessly-synchronize-your-contacts-...
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Transfer mail and contact from an old account to a new one ?

    Hi,
The employe from the company where I got my internship are currently using mail address that are like [email protected] and the company wants them to
use the new mail address [email protected] (in both case the employee are using outlook).
The problem is that they would like to keep their old mail and contact. I know you can do a manual archive but can you import it in a new account ? Will it also
save the contact of the user ? Since it's a new account with a new domain, I really have no idea how to transfer mail and contact from the old account to the new one.
    Best regards,
    Dimitri

This step-by-step article describes how to copy or how to move your Personal Address Book (PAB) from one computer to another
    computer.
On all installations, including those with no e-mail accounts, Microsoft Outlook creates a default Outlook Address Book. The Outlook
Address Book consolidates all your Outlook Contacts folders. The Outlook Address Book is a virtual address book instead of a physical address book because Outlook does not store the Outlook Address Book as a file that is separate from your data store. The
Outlook Address Book provides a view to your Contacts folders.
Unlike the Outlook Address Book, a personal address book (PAB) is a physical address book that Outlook stores on disk that is separate
from your data store. You can add one PAB to an e-mail profile, and use the PAB to store additional contact information.
You can use the PAB to store personal addresses or to store other contact information that you want to keep separate from your other
Outlook data. Additionally, you can use a PAB to share addresses with other users. The PAB uses a .pab file name extension, and Outlook creates the PAB file when you add the PAB to your e-mail profile.
How to identify the PAB file that your e-mail profile uses
    Start Outlook.
On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Under Directory, click View or change existing directories or address books, and then click Next.
Under You can choose a directory or address book below to change or remove it, click Personal Address Book, and then
    click Change.
Note the path of your PAB file that is in the Path box. You will require this information to find the PAB file in step 3 in the "How to copy the PAB file to
a second computer" section of this article.
For example, C:\Exchange\Mailbox.pab indicates that a PAB named Mailbox.pab is located on a Microsoft Exchange folder on your drive C.
Click OK, and then click Finish to close all dialog boxes.
On the File menu, click Exit.
How to copy the PAB file to a second computer
    Quit all e-mail programs.
    Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
In the Folders pane, expand the folders to locate the PAB file whose path you took note of in step 5 in the "How to identify the PAB File that your e-mail profile
    uses" section of this article.
Copy the PAB file to a 3.5 inch disk, and then use that disk to copy the PAB file to the second computer. Note the path of the PAB file on the second computer.
For example, if you copy the PAB file named Mailbox.pab to a folder that is named Address Book on drive C, the path of the address book is as follows:
    C:\Address Book\Mailbox.pab
Alternatively, if your two computers are on the same network, you can copy the PAB file from the source computer to a network share on the second computer.
For more information about how to perform this task in Microsoft Windows, see your Windows printed documentation or your online Help.
Note You can save the PAB file in any folder on the destination computer as long as you remember the location.
How to configure your second computer to use the new PAB file
If you do not have the Personal Address Book service in your e-mail profile on the second computer, you must add the service before
you can add the new PAB file to your profile. To add the Personal Address Book service for the new PAB file, follow these steps:
    Start Outlook.
On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Under Directory, click Add a new directory or address book, and then click Next.
Click Additional Address Books, and then click Next.
In the Additional Address Book Types box, click Personal Address Book, and then click Next.
In the Path box, type the path of the PAB file that you copied to the second computer in step 4 in the "How to copy the PAB file to a second computer" section
of this article. Alternatively, you can click Browse to locate the PAB file.
    Click OK.
If you receive the The E-mail account you have just added will not be start until you choose Exit from the file menu, and then restart Outlook prompt, click OK.
On the File menu, click Exit, and then restart Outlook. Your new PAB is now available.
If you have the Personal Address Book service in your e-mail profile on the second computer, you can change the service to use the
new PAB file. To change an existing Personal Address Book service to use the new PAB file, follow these steps:
On the second computer, start Outlook.
On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Under Directory, click View or change existing directories or Address Books, and then click Next.
In the Outlook processes e-mail for these accounts in the following order list, click Personal Address Book, and
    then click Change.
On the Personal Address Book tab, type the path of the PAB file that you copied to the second computer in step 4 in the "How to copy the PAB file to a second
computer" section of this article. Alternatively, you can click Browse to locate the PAB file.
Click the PAB file, click OK, and then click Finish.
On the File menu, click Exit.
Quit and then restart Outlook. Your new PAB is now available.
Note There can be only one Personal Address Book service per e-mail profile. There is not a method for merging
one PAB file with another. You can use the Outlook Import and Export Wizard to merge the active PAB entries in your Contacts folder.
Additionally, you can add both recipients and distribution lists to contacts that are in the Personal Address Book interface in
    Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.
For more information about the Outlook Import and Export Wizard, click Microsoft
Office Outlook Help on the Help menu,
type Outlook Import and Export Wizard in
    the Search for box
in the Assistance pane, and then click Start searching to
    view the topic.

You can't restore to a backup that was taken on a device which has a higher version of iOS than on your iPad, you will have to update your iPad to 8.1.3 to be able to restore to it
You should be able to update your iPad via Settings > General > Software Update

How can I transfer text and format from a Word Doc to a new Pages Doc?

Select, and Copy in the Word doc and Paste in the Pages doc. It may not be perfect. Importing (Opening) the Word doc is probably better than using Copy/Paste for large amounts of content.
