Can't transfer rented movies on classic 160GB
Have tried everything to transfer movie. Error of "required disk" comes up, tried to resolve with article 304508. Nothing changed. Tried to restore and got error 1418. Tried to resolve that with article 304996. Nothing changed. Totally frustrated. Any more suggestions?
Are you sure they were SD? This says your iPod supports SD

Can I transfer rented movies from one computer to another?
I am posting this message as every time I try to transfer rented movies from my PowerBook to my iPod get the following message.
Attempting to copy to the disk "Michael Graham's iPod" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.
I have gotten this message with an iPod Classic, as well as an iPod Touch, so don't think it is the iPod, but can not be sure of that. Also have posted a message about this in past, but none of the suggestions seemed to help. In addition Apple seems to be no help. In any event if I use my dad's Mac Mini to transfer the rented movie I do not get this message. In any event I just wonder if their is any way to transfer rented movies from one my laptop to his desktop, so I then came transfer to my iPod Touch.
Thanks in advance

Can't transfer rented movies to 2Gen Ipod Touch
I recently recently rented two SD movies from the Itunes store. When I tried to transfer them from my itunes to my Ipod Touch (2GEN) I got an error that says they were not copied because the video format is not supported by my Ipod. I have rented and watched movies before however that was like 5 years ago. Is my Ipod too old to support current Itunes rented movies. Is so, can I get my money back for my rentals?

What kind of iPod do you have? Rental Movies will only play on the iPod Classic (not the 5th Generation iPod), the iPod Touch, the iPod Nano with video and the iPhone:

HT1657 Why can't I transfer rented movies from my iPad to my Mac?
Why can't I transfer rented movies from my iPad to my Mac? This is absolutely senseless and annoying! I rented the movie and should be able to watch it wherever I decide to!! A bit more concern for your clients, please...
These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here. As far as I know Apple haven't given a reason, but you can try leaving feedback for them via this page : http://www.apple.com/feedback/

Transfer Rented Movies from Apple TV V2 to Computer?!?!
I rented some movies on my Apple TV. Can I transfer them to my Mac that the Apple TV is synced with? I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. I know that I can transfer rented movies from the Mac to the Apple TV, but the other way???
Please someone let me know.
-ChristianIf you think you might need to watch your movie on anything other then Apple TV, rent it form iTunes on your computer. Once it is on your computer you can move it to an iPod, iPhone, and even Apple TV 2.0.
Under this system the only thing you can't do is have an HD rented movie on your computer. iPods and iPhones can't play that anyway. Yes, I think media giants sleep safer when HD movies are not on peoples "corruptible" computers and safe and sound on an "appliance".
The only way to make this any easier would be to allow SD rentals to transfer back to a computer but not HD. I think that would just add another layer of confusion. -
How can i transfer rental movies from my Ipad to my iTunes library before updating
how can i transfer rental movies from my Ipad to my iTunes library before updating ?
According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1415 :
You can move the rental between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period. However, the movie can only be played on one device at a time. If you rent a movie or TV show on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple TV, it is not transferable to any other device and you must watch it on that device.
So I assume that you cannot use File > Transfer Purchases to copy them to your computer (though there is no harm in trying) -
Transfer rented movie to iTunes
If I try to update my iPad to IOS 5.0.1 I get a warning that I should transfer rented movies to my iTunes library - but how? I have one rented movie, but that doesn't appear in my list of movies.
If the film was rented and downloaded directly on the iPad, then from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1415 :

I recently brought a new HP laptop and downloaded iTunes 11 on it. My old laptop which is a Acer has iTunes version 10.7, I believe. I wanted to know, How can I transfer 18 movies from the old iTunes onto my new Itunes? It only shows the most recent two movies when I look at the purchases in my account. I had a lot of moves downloaded last year from the old version and would like some assistance on how to get all those movies into my iTunes 11 library. Thank you.
you should starting with copying the iTunes folder from your old laptop to the new one.
the iTunes folder is in your user profile Music folder.
it should go to the same location on the new laptop.
Provided that you have your media, music and movies in the default location, and you sign in to your apple ID and authorize your new computer (all in iTunes)
you should have all intact.
Post if any problems. -

You cannot transfer it to another account.

How can i transfer a movie from mac book pro to external hard drive? I have tried dragging but it is like my hard drive has a block on it? Please help

Thanks for that, it was really helpful.
Glad to hear that worked for you. While formatting an external drive with a Mac format is best if it will be used only with a Mac, if the files on the drive have to be accessible to a PC also, it's possible to format it in an exFAT format, which both the Mac and a PC can read from and write to. However, if you do that, do the actual formatting while the external is connected to the PC. -
