Can't transfer video download from itunes to ipod

I downloaded a m4v file from itunes I cannot view video in itunes and cannot transfer file to my 5th gen ipod. When I update my ipod it tell me it won't transfer the file 'because it cannot be played on this ipod' but no problems with transfering music.
Just want to know if this is fault of mine or Apples and what I can do to rectify it.
Any help is appreciated.

Don't know if this will help, first off did iTunes Bill you for the download? If not try going to the Store tab in iTunes and check for purchases! possibly the file did not completly download or was corrupted!

When I try to transfer purchased music from my Itunes music folder to my iPod, I get the following error message: "Some of the iTunes Store files in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because the iPod may only contain content from five iTunes Store accounts."
What I have done to try to address the problem: I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes, (it was only after this download, actually, that I began to have the problem) read the help article entitled "Some songs in iTunes won't copy to iPod", de-authorized and then re-authorized the computer (didn't work) and gone through my iPod to delete any songs that were on burned cds given to me by friends, which potentially originated from other iTunes accounts.
Perhaps I have overlooked something, but my iPod is only registered on three computers, and I am unable to transfer my purchased music to my iPod. Interestingly, I had no problem transfering my purchased songs onto my iPod before upgrading to the latest version of iTunes last month. It has only been since the upgrade that I can no longer transfer purchases. I subscribe to several podcasts through National Public Radio (free)-- could this be a factor?
Please help. I still have 19 GB of free space and if I can't transfer purchases, then it's kind of a waste of space. Thanks so much for your time~

I can't transfer tv show from itunes to ipod

I'm on automatic sync, but a tvshow i purchased won't transfer. It has next to the check/no check box. Then an alert pops up saying unable to find file. I just bought the show from from itunes store. A couple of songs came out this way too. Whats up?

My 13 yr. old daughter solved this problem, and successfully imported the TV show to her Ipod.
She tells me she has no idea how she did it, she just did it.
So, although I guess my problem is solved, I'd still love to know what the answer is.

Hi there. I downloaded a live performance to iTunes from a website. The music won't transfer to my iPod. All of the songs have the "radio" icon next to them. I right clicked them and there is no option to change them to AAC format. The songs are saved on my hard drive, but just the URL. Can't burn them to a CD either. Any suggestions? It records any and all audio on the Mac, including radio programs in iTunes. You can even pick the file format (mp3, AIFF, WAV, etc.) It's not a quick solution, but it'll get the job done.

You can sync them under apps on iTunes if they are in your iTunes library.
you can go into the App store on the device, tap on "updates" and then "purchases" download the apps you want.

7.01 & videos downloaded from iTunes

I had to go back down from 7.04 to 7.01 in order to import footage to FCE. So, does that mean I can't watch videos purchased from iTunes? I tried watching videos - I can see the video but can't hear the sound. Is this a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't?

this is creepy - I have 7.04 on the G5, which is running 10.3.9 and I can hear the audio when I play video downloaded from iTunes but can't see anything. when I boot to the external hard drive, which is running 10.4.5, I don't get anything at all.

is there a way to change the format of downloaded 'Shows' (not music) from ITunes (ex: 'The Office') to be able to save them in, and burn them w/ IDVD instead of ITunes? I don't believe there is a way of changing the Format. But there is an accessory
that you can get in the Apple Store(you can access that from the home page)
that will allow you to connect your iPod directly to your TV and play everything from it on your TV. RCA patch cords for sound and S-Video that will adapt from
your iPod to the TV.

Can TV show episodes downloaded from iTunes be converted for my non-ipod mp3 player? It's made by Creative Zen and does have a video converter to get files into the right format, but is there something about iTunes TV episodes and their encoding that would prevent this?

In answer to the 2nd part of your question,yes, the files are protected which make them only compatible with iPods, iPhones, etc.

Which apps? The iPhone apps you have selected/purchased on the iPhone App Store thru iTunes?
Or the apps installed on the Mac?
For the first case, simply connect the phone, start up iTunes if it doesn't do so on its own accord, click on your phone's entry on the list in the left column, select the Summary tab to make sure all is well, then click on the Sync button on the bottom edge of the screen. If you want, you can click on the Apps tab and arrange your applications how you like them prior to the sync, too.
If the second case, no can do. iPhone apps run on iPhones, Mac apps run on Macs.

A playlist is, of course, just a listing of music tracks, or did you want to copy the music too? You do not transfer that from iPod to iPod, you synch the iPod to the same library used with the first one.

On the latest version of itunes of windows 7 64 bit, no videos downloaded from itunes can be loaded due to "video format not compatabile" what is up

i bought a new toshiba laptop with windows 7 x64, and while i can load regular mp3's or videos i have, everything ive downloaded from itunes will not load, itunes citing that it is because the "video format is not compatible" help please!

Any ideas as to why I can't find the music videos I've downloaded from iTunes on my iPod?

I am currently using iTunes 7.5. I've made some music video on my own, I have converted the .dv format into .mp4 format. I first import the .mp4 files into the Movie library. But I cannot put these clips in the music video playlist the clips in the movie library. I then tried to import these clips again to the Music library. Nothing happened. I tried to copy the clips from the movie library and paste to the Music library, I could do the cut, but when I selected the music library, the paste command was gray out.
What did I do wrong?
