Can´t transform illustrator files

I´ve just downloaded the application because it said it can transform illustrator, indesign and photoshop files. Since the app to see those type of files is not supported on the ipad I thought this would be a solution to my problem of seeing my work on the ipad.
I tried converting a illustrator file and it said file type not supported, then tried a indesign file and the same thing happened.
I´m using an ipad with ios 6.0.1 and trying to convert the files using diferent apps (dropbox, fileBrowser, mail) it always pops the same messege "File type not Supported"
Someone knows why or is there a solution to the problem.

After investigating with the issue, I can confirm that we are aware that the CreatePDF app no longer supports InDesign, AI or PSD conversions. We found that our conversion wasn’t generating the results we expect and have temporarily disabled this capability until we can fix the problem. We expect it to be fixed sometime in the first half of 2013. I apologize for the confusion.

  • Can't save illustrator file with text.  Can't update, uninstall or reinstall.

    I suddenly cannot save a simple illustrator file that contains any text.  Also, I am unable to update, uninstall or reinstall illustrator.  This is frustrating when you have projects due.  Mac Mini - OS X 10.8.3

    Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, reinstall. Also check your fonts. You probably have a "bad" font i nthere somewhere that is corrupting all font operations.

  • Can't delete Illustrator files

    I am running Win Xp with Illustrator CS. Sometimes when I try to delete, move or rename a file it won't let me. It says the files is being used by another program. Our IT guy narrowed it down to where he thinks it is a illustrator .dll file that loads at start up. I couldn't even delete it in safe mode though and I tried an unlocker program that didn't recognize anything locking the file. This only happens with our illustrator files. Any ideas?

    Have your IT guy download the free Sysinternals Process Explorer in order to find persistent "handles" and whatever .DLLs are associated with the recalcitrant files.

  • Can't save Illustrator file to PDF

    I am just trying to save a PDF from my illustrator file. However, when I go to Save as, and select PDF, no dialog box opens to allow me to set how I want the file outputted. IF I just hit enter, the file does save.. its just like the Dialog box is hidden or not appearing. The reason I need the dialog box is because I need to add bleeds to the PDF and my default save doesn't do that. Any ideas or anyone else have this problem? Thanks

    An addition to this issue. I had the exact thing going on, but did have my second monitor running and still no dialog box. The issue was that I switched desks and now had my extra monitor on the other side of my laptop. So, after much frustration, finally figured out to go to preferences > displays, changed the arrangement to put the monitor back to the other side and "whallaa..." there it was.

  • Can't open Illustrator file - "does not have the correct number of operands..."

    Right off the bat - Mac, 10.6.8, Illustrator CS4. I've seen different variations of this "...correct number of operands..." error on these boards, with fonts and other things as the culprit, but I haven't come across this specific issue yet. If someone has seen something along these lines please let me know.
    I work for a small design agency that uses Illustrator CS4 on a consistent basis. We have had an ongoing issue where random files that had been working fine will sporadically become corrupt, causing us to have to use the Document Recovery Mode and then edit the file in a text editor to fix the problem which does work for this issue flawlessly, other than the headache of having to do this repeatedly.
    Our workflow is such that we use a local area storage RAID which everyone uses to access the same client files. These client files are all in a series of nested folders we employ to keep all our separate client's work separate. The error arises when certain images are placed into a document, then the document is saved and closed. Upon trying to reopen the file we get an error message like this:
    Where the string "/CR0050_ret.psd" is the filename of the offending image. Basically what has happened is that in the actual code for the document, there is a string that starts as "%%IncludeFile....." which specifies the file's pathway on the local area storage we use. The last segment of that string is the image's filename, which has gotten returned to the next line down, and now the program cannot interpret that line in the code, so it cannot properly open the file. The file will open but only the content that is above the offending IncludeFile string is visible.
    (client information blurred out)
    This does not happen to all the "%%IncludeFile" strings in the document, and does not happen for all images on our local area storage. We know how to fix the problem through the Document Recovery mode and then editing the text. Once we return the filename portion of the code back up to the proper line, and save the file in the text editor, the file will open in Illustrator and show all the information contained within properly. However, if you save the file out again without making any changes, the same errors will propagate throughout the file's code again, and become unreadable prompting another document recovery. Insert endless cycle here.
    What we would like to try and find out is why is this happening, so we can prevent it from happening in the future. Is the image nested too far down in the hierarchy of folders? Are there too many characters in the file pathway string? What can we do to keep this from happening moving forward?
    I know that an easy answer is to copy the files over locally to our hard drives, and work from there, but this is not a very efficient way to work, as we are all collectively working on different files, utilizing common image resources. We like to keep one set of images so there is no duplication that may lead to the wrong image being sent out - "Oh you sent John's version? You should have sent Molly's version of the image for that file"
    We also downloaded the trial version of Illustrator CS6 to see if an upgrade would work wonders, but it does not, the problem persists when saving a recovered file in CS6.
    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    In Illustrator it is generally not a good idea to read and write directly to and from a server: http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/illustrator-support-networks-removable-media.html
    If you really think you need to do it, then check your network thoroughly.

  • Can't open Illustrator files

    Working with CS5 for a few weeks now with no problems. Suddenly today Illustrator doesn't want to open any files. Keeps giving me the message "Unable to set maximum number of files to be opened." Trashed prefs but that made no difference.
    Anyone know what this cryptic message means and what I can do to correct the problem?
    Thanks!

  • I can't open illustrator files as an error message says 'file contains conflicting spot colour information...' then closes, how do I resolve this?

    The full message reads 'The file contains conflicting spot color information. Spot and process colors cannot share the same name. Please resolve the spot color conflict and try reopening this file.'
    The problem is the file just closes after that. If anyone has had this problem before and managed to resolve it, please please help!

    This turned out to be a links issue. One of the psd's had corrupted. In the end we found out by making sure the file couldn't connect to the links in the illustrator document allowing it to open in the basic vector format. We disconnected from the network, another way would be to move the links folder. Once the file was open the links could be deleted/replaced seems it didn't close the file straight away.
    I hope this helps anyone else that has this problem, there really wasn't much information on it, especially not up to date information.

  • How can i transform a file stream into a stream of a block blob to download block blobs?

    I want to change this code to work with block blobs, but I can't seem to figure it out on my own
    // initialize the http content-disposition header to
    // indicate a file attachment with the default filename
    System.String disHeader = "Attachment; Filename=\"" + "sample.txt" +
    Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", disHeader);
    // Download the blob to a file stream.
    using (FileStream fs = new FileStream(this.Server.MapPath(@"Data\data.txt"), FileMode.Open))
    int chunkSize = 4096;
    byte[] buffer = new byte[chunkSize];
    int read = 0;
    Response.AddHeader("Content-Length", fs.Length.ToString());
    do
    read = fs.Read(buffer, 0, chunkSize);
    Response.OutputStream.Write(buffer, 0, read);
    } while (read > 0);
    fs.Close();
    fs.Dispose();
    Response.End();

    Hi,
    What detailed scenario do you want to achieve? If you want to download files from block blob stream, please have a look at below article.

  • Illustrator file format specifications

    Where I can found the illustrator file format specifications?

    Monika is right. There is no public documentation on the file format. It's proprietary and only AI itself can read and write it 100% correctly. Corel claim to have reverse-engineered the CS3 AI format, but I can't tell you how well it works, if at all. You can of course still find enough info on the legacy AI 88 format, which was the last time the format spec was publicly available, but it's a completely different thing from today's AI files....

  • Trouble saving illustrator files as jpeg.

    Before CS3 came along it was possible to save ai files as jpeg directly in the program. Now that option is no longer possible. How can one save illustrator files as jpeg. Can anyone help please?

    This is user error…you could never save an Illustrator file as jpeg you can only save Illustrator files as templates, ai file, pdf, eps, svg and fxg.
    fxg I belive is relatively recent.
    However the answer to what you want to do is the same as it has been for a very long time.
    File >Export>Format>Jpeg
    All is well once again.

  • Importing Illustrator File to Photoshop

    Sorry, this question may be to vague to answer, but I have a problem with a file I created in Illustrator. When "placing" the file it gets imported extremely pixelated and corrupt. I know it's not the software, because other files I "place" into Photoshop from Illustrator look great -- files that were developed by other professionals.
    I admit to being a bit of a novice in Illustrator and I'm thinking it's the way I set up the file, but I can't find any differences in the two files I have placed -- one being the file developed by another designer and the one I developed.
    Sorry for this vague question, but does it bring any solutions to mind?
    Thanks, Jim

    Hi,
    You're not suppose to "place" the ai file in Photoshop.
    Instead you can save your logo in illustrator as a new PSD or PDF file, even you can open your illustrator file in photoshop directly.
    Wish this helps.

  • Convert Illustrator File to InDesign

    An outside agency set up some templates in Illustrator that we need to have in InDesign. What is the easiest way to convert the files? Any info is greatly appreciated.

    You can place an Illustrator file, but other than scaling, rotating, and cropping the content is not editable in InDesign.
    You can place the Illustrator file, set it's transparency to 50%, lock it's layer, then redraw the content on lower layers. Delete the template layer when finished.
    You can copy and paste content between Illustrator and InDesign. Basic shapes and simple paths work fine, including some gradients. Text is much more trouble than it should be. (Why call it a Suite if the programs can't share simple content like text?)
    I prefer option 2, using as little of option 3 as I can get away with. Obviously complex shapes are better copied than retraced.
    There is a
    plug-in for InDesign that imports PDFs. I have heard mixed opintions, but it's kind of like a pig with wings. Who cares how well it flies, it's
    that it flies that makes it interesting.

  • I can no longer save illustrator files, please HELP?

    I have work saved on my mac that for some reason can no longer be saved as a illustrator file, to be honest there is quite a bit. I can save it a EPS or PDF but not Ai. Does anyone one have a solution for my problem? Or can i just save all work as EPS what effect will this have in the long run?? Cheers guys.

    Hi Jacob
    I have tried searching for them files in spotlight but nothing of that file name is found. I have also tried holding the command buttons mentioned when illustrator starts up but still no joy i cannot save ai files in my first user account. I have also tried go to folder, still no joy. The folder with illustrator settings cannot be found...
    Should i just save all work to disk and then delete the first user and start again in the user where ai files can be saved? Or should i remove illustrator, reinstall and look for the folder again?
    Could you please in simplest form tell me how to find the folder in question, so that i am not missing something in my stress...
    I appreciate your help with this matter jacob and your patience...

  • CAN'T CREATE or Modify ESB PROJECT ROUTER TRANSFORM/XSL FILE

    I have a problem that started today. I did not have a problem last Friday. I am working on an ESB Project/program using JDeveloper 10.3.1.2. I
    have a router service that has 2 routing rules. Today when I went to edit the transforms/XSL files it will not show the design view and gives me the error message: "Required attribute version missing from element xsl:stylesheet". In the source view I can see that in any one of my xsl files it has "version="1.0". I tried to delete and recreate the transform files and I still get the same problem (only this time it will not even save the mappings). If I try to validate the XML file Jdeveloper hangs and has to be killed. I tried rebooting my machine and that did not help. I went to another project that I hadn't worked on in 2 weeks and tried to look at some routing service transforms and got the same error message when I tried to display them.
    I don't know what is going on. Anyone ever have this problem?
    Nick

    Strange but the problem seems to have just gone away on its own!
