Can't translate without MacLink Plus

I just bought a Mac Mini to replace my out-of-date eMac. However, my MacLink Plus doesn't work on Lion and I have an AW6 doc Pages refuses to translate (it's a spreadsheet). Does anyone have any suggestions?

I wonder if you could assist me. I have a very old g5 iMac and lots of .cwk files. I cannot find Maclink Plus anywhere on the net as it has long been discontinued. Could you please share your copy of the app and save my bacon?

were.I'm sorry if it seemed that way. I don't want something for nothing. I've spent MANY hours, which I don't have, trying to work this out. I have hit a point where I don't think my expertise is going to solve the problem. That's why I've turned to some experts who might say something along the lines of, "Hey, I know what that is...you're compiling against... and on the Unix box, it's compiling against..." I was NOT looking for something like, "See the code below that fixes your problem."
The only problem is that I don't have direct access
to the sun unix machines I'm running the app on,
so I can't run a profiler on it. Ah, okay. So the only knowledge you have of how it
performs on those machines is from your instructor
running it and then telling you how long it took?No. I can SSH into the servers and run the program from a command line. But I wouldn't be able to install any profiler programs.
You could ask your prof to run it with -Xprof or
-Xhprof or whatever. Or you could put in a bunch of
timing statements to get a rough idea of which parts
are making it take that extra 39 minute or whatever.is -Xprof a java command line option? If so, I will look into doing that. Maybe it's available on the machines at school. Thanks for that input.

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and MacLink Plus won't work. When I click on MacLink Plus, I get a message saying PowerPC applications no longer supported. I went to the Dataviz site, but MacLink is not even listed as one of their products. I have hundreds of Word Perfect files from years of using a PC. I was just translating them into readable form as I needed them using MacLink Plus. I will be lost without it. Is there another product out there that can do this? Why is MacLink no longer being supported? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I was using Snow Leopard and that was fine, but I wanted to be able to use ICloud to keep all my devices up to date.

The need for MacLink Plus has greatly diminished in time, as the competing products user base fell off. Think about it: how long ago was it that YOU purchased MacLink Plus. With no income stream, there is no basis to continue to update these products.

When you are done flogging yourself for not being "pro-active & ask[ing] questions beforehand rather than try[ing] to recover afterwards..."
Consider these Workarounds:
1. Restore OS X Snow Leopard;
2. Partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;

please try this (all terms are translated from my German programs to my best knowledge):
1. Did the creator of the pdf file enable the import options?
2. See import options: choose an other visibility option for your layer.
3. Let you show the import options and click into one with a black background and try these out (often a gray is selected).
4. See trimming: try the different modes there. Often works: "Media".
5. Is the pdf file (eg from Word) correctly created?
6. Is the PDF file protected? >>> no import possible.
7. If that does not help, store the pdf file in Acrobat, repair possible errors, run the PDF Optimizer before placing in InDesign.

Higher security if client is installed without SQL*PLUS?

Hello,
at work there are two installations for the Oracle client, one with and one without SQL*PLUS. Only DBAs and developers get the full installation. I can't see the additional security beside that a user cannot directly use SQL*PLUS to read data. Every user can run SQL Developer on his system so they can access the data anyway.

I can't see the additional security ..I agree. Too many people think blocking client tools means higher security. Security has to be done in the database server,not in the client tools.

Welcome to the community.
Unfortunately, you cannot do that. The first hurdle that you are going to face, is that mobile devices, by virtue of being prone to loss, will always require that a password is entered before a purchase of any kind is made.
If your concern about the password, is related to your privacy in regard to your mail, contacts and calendar information rather than their acces to make purchases, then the best solution would be for you to use another Apple ID for iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud too.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photostream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.

Hi Jay,
Be aware that "Freeze Header Rows" and "Freeze Header Columns" apply only to rows and columns that are Header rows or Header columns. You can have up to five Header rows, Five Header Columns (and five Footer rows) on a Numbers Table.
"Header rows" is a special designation. Besides being able to be frozen, Header and Footer rows are not included in formulas referencing whole columns, making it possible to place formulas such as =SUM(B) at the top (or bottom) of column B without causing a self-reference error, These designated rows are also not included in sorts of the rows in a table.

If you're having problems with the App Store you might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
followed by Enter.
launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
3 - try again.

You can't disable FaceTime remotely. If you activated Find my iPhone in the device, go to iCloud and Find my iPhone. You can block or erase your iPod if it's connected to Wi-Fi, but you won't be able to track it

It varies based on what you ordered and whether it is in stock or has to be assenbled and shipped from China. Your email conformation should give an estimate of when the items are expected to be shipped or available for pick up if you are having it sent to a local Apple Store.

Are you having problems? If so, tell us what they are.
If you just want tons of fonts, you should have a good font manager, other than the Font Book that comes with your Mac. And you should avoid "free" fonts. They cause monumental problems.

How many times can I suspend (without billing) my service?

I know I can suspend it twice for at most 90 days each time. I'm wondering though whether it is possible to suspend it more than twice in a year as long as it's not for more than 180 days overall.
Since I have a smartphone and I'm on the more everything family plan, suspending without billing means that the bill will be 40 dollars less/month, right?

hybridhoneylp we'll make sure that everything is crystal clear! You're right on track, the maximum amount the line can be suspended without billing is 180 days within a 12 month rolling period. So you can suspend the line multiple time as long as the time frame does not extend beyond the 180 days. OK....First,you are right, OS 5 has the 11 page limit....you must create folders of Apps until you get below 11 pages of combined folders and apps...NOTE.....the upgrade to OS 5 killed all of my old folders and folder organizations...this may be an issue for all????.....I have over 300 apps so when the old folders went away...I was left with 20 plus pages....only 11 visible....It took me awhile to find out what happened....Since I have 64G it seems that 11 visible pages is a silly limit since the apps are on the machine...
