Can't turn off airplay on my ipad?

I've never used airplay, although others in my house do, hence there being airplay devices which I can connect to. Anyhow, here or for times a day, my iPad 2, running the latest iOS 7 connects to my brother' airport. Thankfully there are no speakers plugged into it. Anyhow, when it does this the only two options I have in the menu accessed via the airplay icon is the airport or the dock connector. Not the internal speakers. When connected to the airport, I have a volume slider a system sounds (like the keyboard) still come from my ipad speakers, but nothing from apps or multimedia. In the dock connector setting, I have no volume control and the device is completely mute. The only way to hear apps or the media I play is by connecting headphones. I cannot find anything in the settings app to turn off the airplay.
What should I do? I don't always want to have to use headphones.

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

I have the same problem with my device specially with the NFL App and after maybe 2hrs of research I found out that Verizon has implemented that messege/restriction to keep the app "TRUE" mobile only. What I'm saying is that you won't get the NFL App to play no matter what you do if connected to HDMI adapter or AirPlay. I hope this helps more than the other/previous post. Can't turn off AirPlay and return to iPad audio and video.

i Have an iPad 3 and 2 AppleTvs in the house.
i can't get my ipad to turn off airplay. I'm only able to mirror one of the appletvs or the dock connector. Attaching a picture to s how my problem. Anyone have an idea to fix it?

Sorry for taking so long to get back. But the thing was none of the instruction where able to get the iCloud turned off. If anything it is for someone who moves between the Local and the iCloud than turnng off iCloud.
I want to turn off iCloud syncing in my System Preference and iCal. iCal is syncing with iCloud and I do not want that. My iPhone is syncing with iCloud and I don't want that either. I never enabled these options and had to find out where they were before I could even start trying to turning them off.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I can't turn off auto correct on iPad

When I type an emai, the auto correct above the keyboard keeps suggesting words. I have gone into Settings-General and turned off Auto-Correction (and everything else too). But when I type an email or go into Safari on my iPad, it keeps suggesting words that makes no sense and makes it very inefficient for me. Does anyone know why even after turning auto correction off, it still is enabled?

Since I updated my iPad to iOS 5 - spell check works erratically and sporadically as well so I have issues with the way this whole thing works.
Have you tried resetting the Keyboard Dictionary? Settings>General>Reset>Reset Keyboard Dictionary. It is a totally different setting that really shouldn't impact auto correct all - its merely a suggestion borne out of the "Throw enough crap against the wall and hope that something will stick" mentality.
If nothing else works, another standard procedure would be to restore your iPad. If you can restore from a backup that predates this issue, that should work for you.

Have reset the ipad, but that changed nothing. I can not turn off Keychain, iit remains "pending approval". Probably, the only thing to do is to close my icloud account...which I hate to do since there is a lot of data saved there. But, I am unable to back the ipad up on my Windows 8 computer because itunes no longer opens when the ipad is attached.
Oh well...computers are computers and it is impossible to cover 100% of the situations.
Keychain iss not the best app for someone who lives in 3 different countries.

Is there any great way to turn off messages on the ipad without shutting down the ports required to connect to Apple on the firewall? Kids will be kids but teachers are pressing administration for solution. If you shut off messages, I may be mistaken but you can't restrict the kid from turning it back on correct?

If you own/control the iPads that run iOS 6, you can turn off Messages via Apple Configurator or an MDM solution and the students would, to the best of my knowledge, not be able to turn that back on without knowing the Restrictions passcode. For personally owned iPads, the only way to block Messages would be to block the ports at your router. Messages uses port 5222, so if you block that port, that should block the transmission of messages, though the students will still try. For more information on ports, see:

If you don't want to do a restore, then your iPad may remain in the unstable state you have for the moment.
You can change the country in the App Store. Have a look at the bottom of the App Store screen, you can change the country and also do the permanent change via Manage > Account.
You can change the language in iTunes via General Preferences > under General tab.
