Can't turn off print 2 sided

I can not figure out how to turn off print 2 sided. I've looked in doc presets, doc setting, print setting and I can't find a 2 sided setting. Can someone assist please?

Every print driver is different, but here is a capture of one, selecting "Printer" at the bottom of Indesign's print window to access printer specific settings.

  • Can't turn off 2 sided printing on HP7520

I have seen a number of recommended solutions as to how to turn off 2 sided printing on the HP 7520 printing on the HP site.   None of them work for Mac OS X 10.9.5  and/or  MS Word for Mac 2011 version 14.4.5 .
I am really concerned that HP has not provided an easy way to perform this function (.e.g. on the print options drop down list allow a user to click on  a     " TURN OFF TWO SIDED PRINTING " option.   Acutally concerned is an understatement -- it is totally unacceptable for a company that has specialized in providing printers for decades to have so poorly designed a product and it's software.
Having said that does a solution exist for this design defect ???

    Hi,
Follow the steps below in order to disable two-sided printing:
From the application used to print, click the File menu and select Print. The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click the Show Details button to see all available settings.
At this point I would suggest clicking the Presets menu within the print dialog and save the current settings as a preset (e.g. 7520 Duplex)
Click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
Select Layout from the drop-down menu.
Set the Two-Sided option as Off.
You may save the settings for future use by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset... Any used preset will remain default till another preset will be used and these can be used to easily swith between standard and two-sided printing.

  • Can't turn off printer sharing in 10.4.7

I came in this morning to check on my lab computers and noticed a ton of duplicate printers on my network. I narrowed it down to a single computer, but I can't seem to turn off Printer Sharing in System Preferences. The only thing I changed recently was upgrade/install the latest version of CUPS.
Any suggestions on how I can turn off Printer Sharing? Is there a command line cmd to turn it off?

Just to make sure you didn't overlook the obvious (we all do it more often than we care to admit). Can you toggle the other services in the Sharing pane? Perhaps you just need to click on the padlock and authenticate before you can make changes.
Second thing to try. Make sure System Preferences is not open. Look in the user's Home folder/Library/Caches. Find a cache item com.apple.preferencepanes.cache. Delete this item. Log the user out and log back in. Now open System Preferences and see if you can make the changes.
Third thing to try. Here are the items that get changed in the /etc/cups/cupds.conf file when you turn Printer Sharing OFF---
    line 55 becomes
    ServerName 127.0.0.1
    lines 453 and 454 become
    #Port 631
    Listen 127.0.0.1:631
    line 581 becomes
    #BrowseAddress @LOCAL
    line 635 becomes
    BrowseInterval 0
    line 826 Allow From @LOCAL
is deleted and the block from line 822 through 826 becomes
    <Location />
    Order Deny,Allow
    Deny From All
    Allow From 127.0.0.1
    </Location>
All these changes are taken from a modification of the default cupsd.conf as supplied with the version of CUPS Apple supplies with Tiger. The cupsd.conf that comes with version 1.2.x is most likely different. You will have to do some comparison and interpretation.
    Hope this helps.
EDIT: Don't forget to recycle the cupsd whenever you make a change to the configuration file.
    sudo killall -HUP cupsd

  • Can't Turn off 2-sided printing photosmart 7510

The printer insists on printing 2-sided, and I can't figure out how to turn it off in Mac OS X 10.10. It seems to happen mostly in Word, but that may only be because I usually only print from Word.

    Hello @FritzMills!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I would be happy to provide some assistance with the 2-sided printing issue.  Have you had a chance to try printing from any other Applications on your Mac to see if you get the same issue?
The first thing I suggest is to reset the printing system and re-add the printer.  This will reset print settings back to default and 2 sided printing should be turned off.
    To reset printing system:
Click the apple icon at the top left corner
    Click System Preferences
    Click Print and Scan
In the Print and Scan menu hold down the "control" key and click with the mouse in the white space bellow the printer
Click the reset printing system dropdown button that appears
You should get a color wheel and the printer should disappear
    To re-add the printer
In the same Print and Scan menu click the plus (+) sign below the printer list
Click "add other printer or scanner" even if you see your printer in the dropdown
You should get the add printer window
Select your printer in the list.  If the printer is wireless it will say Bonjour beside the name of the printer
Click the dropdown  called "Use" or "print using" and select "HP Photosmart 7510 series"
Click add at the bottom right
printer should be added back to the Print and Scan menu
    Try printing again!
Please post back and let me know how it goes!  Thanks again for posting on the HP Forums!

  • How do I create a custom preset in my print window? I want to permanently turn off 2-sided printing under the Fiery Features?

At my office I work on a mac, I print to a Canon C5240, my print dirver is current (Canon iR-ADV C5200s-B2 psv1.ous). We just got this new computer at our office and it defaults to 2-sided printing.
The cannon people said we need change our printer setting on our sever to single sided printing, our IT guy says we have. However, we still continue to get all prints 2-sided.
The only way we've been able to get around this is when we are in the print dialog: manually changing the page setting > Fiery Features > and turning off 2-sided printing-- every time. It's so frustrating.
Is there a way to save this preset rather then have it always revert back to the default print settings?
    PLEASE HELP!

    Hello,
Click on the Presets dropdown item, choose save as Default, Save As, or Maybe just Save depending on OS version.

  • Cannot turn off double sided printing on HP 8600 OSX v 10.8.4

Hello! I cannot figure out how to turn off double sided printing. I do not see an option in the system print dialogue or on the printing settings itself. When I remove the double sided attachment from the back of the printer - it won't feed the paper properly. Help!

    Hi,
Please follow the steps below in order to disable two-sided printing:
On the File menu, select Print. The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click the blue triangle next to the printer name to see all available settings.
In the expanded Print window you will find next to Copies the checkbox for Two-Sided. Uncheck that box.
NOTE: If the checkbox does not appear within the specific application print dialog, skip this step.
Click the lowest selection box, listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
Select Layout from the drop-down menu.
Set the Two-Sided option as Off.
You may save the settings for future use by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset... Any used preset will remain default till another preset will be used.

  • How can i turn off automatic printing on my ipad mini

how can i turn off automatic printing on my ipad mini. every day My printer prints out a weekly calendar at the same time. How can I stop or disable this. Thanks

The complete backup and restore procedure is explained in the link above.
If you don't want to do a restore, then your iPad may remain in the unstable state you have for the moment.
You can change the country in the App Store. Have a look at the bottom of the App Store screen, you can change the country and also do the permanent change via Manage > Account.
You can change the language in iTunes via General Preferences > under General tab.

  • Turning Off Double Sided Copies

I need help turning off double sided copies (copy function not the printing function).  On the printer itself, I go into copy settings and find that "Two0Sided" copies is checked off.  I can't uncheck it to return it to single sided copies.  Help!

There should be an arrow, to get more choices to show. Also the checkbox is just showing you the current selected, you change the setting by touch the big icon, not the checkbox. The touch panel is not a high resolution one, so try to touch the checkbox, result in the icon being selected, that's why the setting didn't change. Try find the 1:1 icon and touch that.

  • Programmatically Turn Off Printing (Acrobat 6.0)

    Hello.
I'm searching (fruitlessly so far) for an option to turn off printing on a PDF. I've gone down multiple avenues and have come up empty to date.
My company is using Documentum SCS and Content Transformation Services (Documentum) to export/convert files to PDF format in a readable location. Through our normal process, we place an overlay on the document using another product, which indicates the status of the file (approved/effective). Since we cannot use the overlay when exporting in this fashion, we've settled on disabling printing for the PDFs.
The preferred solution would be using CTS to set the security, however I don't have a lot of confidence in that solution just yet.
The second preferred method would be for CTS to run a piece of VBS code post-export, which takes the PDFs and sets them to noprint.
The last resort would be to create a Windows service using .NET that waits for new files in the directory and sets them to noprint.
Any solutions to programmatically setting noprint? Any feedback on the path being taken?
    Thanks in advance!

If you're looking for a fully automated solution, Acrobat will not be an option.
The only fully automated option Adobe provides would be Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management ES, which you can read about here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/livecycle/rightsmanagement/
If you are interested in a Documentum-direct solution, you would probably get best results asking on some Documentum forums. Most users here work specifically with the Acrobat SDK ( it being an Adobe forum :) ).

  • How can i turn off the spam filter?

How can i turn off the spam filter for HP eprintcenter?

    zanganah;
    I hope you are doing well and sorry to learn that you are having this issue;
Most of the time when you have issues receiving emails is that the email have something like FWD  subject line. Eliminate that.
Does the email have a title? Make sure it does.
ePrint emails can only have one email address in the “To:” field. To send an email to your printer and to additional email addresses of friends and family at the same time, put your printer's email address in the “To:” field, and put your friends/family email addresses in the “BCC” (blind carbon copy) field.
    Also this are some of the limitations of the service to keep in mind;
The attachment size or number of attachments exceeded the allowed limit.
There is a 5 MB limit to the email and a 5MB limit to each attachment. HP ePrint supports a maximum of 10 attachments to a single email. Emails that exceed these limits will not print.
Is the attached file supported by ePrint? Supported attachments include:
    Microsoft Word
    Microsoft PowerPoint
    Microsoft Excel*
    Text files (.txt)
    PDF
    HTML
Images (bmp, jpg, png, gif, tiff)
    * HP strongly recommends that you preview documents in Excel before printing.
    Hope this helps:

Can't turn off multiple pages per sheet - I used this option for one pdf document and now the settings are sticking.  I don't want to  always print 2 by 2.   I was able to set a Custom Multiple page to "1 by 1" but this seems silly. How do I get the default single page printing back?

  • Can you turn off color function on HP officiate 6600

Can you turn off color function on HP officiate 6600 on printer so it will still run without color cartridges?  I just need to print a black and white word document and it won't let me without replacing the color cartridges.

    Hi @justwest,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that you are wondering if you can turn off the color function on HP officiate 6600 so you can print without color cartridges. I am happy to answer this question for you!
This particular printer uses some color inks even when printing in black only. If you did run out of color and kept printing black only, you will cause problems with the printhead. FYI,HERE is the user guide to your printer, see page 72. I've also linked page yield information HERE.
Hope this answers your question, and have a good day!

  • Cannot turn off Printer Sharing???

    Hi there,
I've been busy configuring our Macs in work to use the printers dotted around the office. I've been successful apart from one little annoyance that I cannot figure out. How do you turn off Printer Sharing?
I'm using CUPS 1.2.11 and printing to a Xerox DocuColor 3535 and a DocuColor 5252 using IP Printing via LPR.
Does Printer Sharing need to be on, hence why every time I turn it off it reverts back to being on??
    Jamie Kelly
    Liverpool

    Hi greg,
I posted a message before but it has disappeared, so please forgive me if there are two posts that have the same information.
I was advised by one of our Xerox engineers to upgrade CUPS to the current version. He actually said I should upgrade to version 1.3 but since it is a beta I thought I'd stick with 1.2.11 for now. Sadly it appears he was wrong and I shouldn't have upgraded.
It also appears I didn't read your response correctly. I can turn off printer sharing individually (for each printer) by doing as you advised and 'Unpublish' each printer. However, global printer sharing (in System Preferences/Sharing) is still ON and it won't switch off. Even more worrying is this - although Printer Sharing is on, the firewall hasn't opened the Printer Sharing port, and I can't manually open it because it is set to automatically open when Printer Sharing is switched on.
So now Printer Sharing is stuck on but the firewall will not open the port. Can I edit anything in the CUPS server configuration file to disable Printer Sharing? The information in my configuration file (taken from http://127.0.0.1:631/admin?op=config-server) is below:
