Can't turn off webcam

Hello,
I have Creative Video Blaster WebCam 5 and it has been working just fine until now. The green led is on all the time and programs like Skype etc. say that the camera is in use by another program although there is no other program active. I have restarted the computer, but still the same problem. I have also uninstalled Webcam monitor, Webcam control and drivers and reinstalled them again.
Any suggestions how to solve this?
Best regards,
Marcus

Download the latest version of Skype: http://www.skype.com/go/getskype If this does not help, goto Dells driver download page, and download the newer drivers (if any, check device manager (rightclick my computer > manage > device manager > doubleclick each item and choose driver tab to se the date). From device manager, you can also remove (uninstall) the cam, reboot and Windows should find it again, and so should Skype. Also make sure your computer is up to date with the latest fixes (also optionals) from windows update), this includes Internet explorer. Also do update flashplayer (if you have not done so) to patch the recent securety holes (Skype uses IE even if you do not).: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_ax.exe Be adviced that Dell liste your computer as not tested for Windows 10, so if you are not confident in that you may fix any issues that arises after an upgrade, please wait to upgrade a while.

    QUESTION:
Is there any way to turn off the LED light next to my webcam?
The build quality of the laptop allows for light to pass over the webcam, creating a terrible picture from it.

    Hello
What I meant is that when I am using the webecam, only one light adjacent to the webcam is on. The light on the other side of the webcam is never on. Is there a way to do it?

  • Satellite L500D-11J - How can I turn off the microphone?

    Hi,
I have a similar problem with the microphone. Suddenly it turned on, resonating with the loudspeakers. When skyping this didn't work anymore. I have a SATELLITE PRO L500D-11J. What to do?
Is the microphone indeed intergrated with the webcam? How can I put of the microphone while keeping the loudspeakers on?

    Hey,
Theoretically the microphone can be turned off in Volume settings of Windows. Therefore you have to select the input devices and disable it there Thats all! :)
Furthermore the microphone is a part of the webcam and therefore you can update the webcam driver. Normally the microphone will be turned on if you use the webcam.

  • Can't turn off face tracking on Live! Ultra for Notebooks

Please help! I've installed Live! Ultra for Notebooks and it works reasonably well, except for the fact that I can't turn off the Face Tracking feature.
When I installed everything, I selected "Smart", but I hate the way that the camera keeps panning off to different parts of the room. So, I just want to turn this feature OFF.
But every time I open the Face Tracking Utility, or go to the screen via "Tools," I can click "off". But, it doesn't actually turn off; the camera still keeps panning off to the far corners of the room. And the next time I access the Face Tracking Utility again, it has defaulted back to "Smart". Any suggestions on how to disable this feature?
    My system is as follows:
    Dell Inspiron 700M
Intel Pentium M 2.00 GHz processor
Windows XP Home Edition, service pack 2
Happy new year & thanks in advance..

Finally figured it out. In case anyone else has the same problem of your computer ignoring changes in the Face Tracking Utility screen, try this:
Go to Webcam Center. Click on "Capture" then the "Source" tab, one of two discrete grey tabs just above the video screen.
Under "Extended Settings" you have the options for face tracking: off, continuous or smart. Click it and your computer should actually hold onto this setting until you change it again!
    Good luck.

  • How can I turn off the WLS 6.1 security in order to develop my own application-based security module?

    Dear Colleagues,
I am currently developing a J2EE application using WLS 6.1.
My team and I have to implement a security requirement to suit our company's needs.
The security requirements are that, users' password need to be aged (30 days maximum) and we need to provided a GUI front-end (JSP) to allow users to change their password when these expire after 30 days.
Our internal contacts in the company, have already taken the lead to find out about whether we will be able to use the WLS 6.1 platform to do this and the answer we got back, was.
Now we need to develop our own security module.
    I have 2 questions:
    1. How can we turn off the WLS security in order develop our own application-based security module?
    2. How can we develop a security module that allows us to age users' password and provide them with facilities to change their passwords when these expire?
At the moment, we are using the default BEA WebLogic login.jsp page and there some configuration in the web.xml for this. I will be grateful if you could advise me on how to turn this default security off so that we can write our own security module.

There is no power switch. You cannot turn off your Apple TV. You can only put it in standby (sleep) mode. To power the unit off your only option is to pull the plug.

  • Once I have synced my Google calendar to iCal, can I turn off syncing and save all info in iCal?

I have been using Google Calendar, and syncing info from it to my Mac, iPad and iPhone. Now that all the info I originally entered into Google Calendar is on my Apple devices, can I turn off syncing it and save all the events, birthdays, etc. that were put into iCal up to this point? I have only been adding to my iCal via the Mac, iPad or iPhone for several months now, so it seems silly to keep using Google Calendar.

Unless you have backed up your iCal data, there is no way to retrieve the now missing data. To easily back up your calendar data, simply choose the Back up Database… option under the File menu in iCal.
Microsoft cautions users that deletion of the Entourage calendar in iCal—without first disabling the synchronization function with Entourage—will result in exactly the outcome you see.
If you have not subsequently synchronized with .Mac since you deleted the iCal calendar, you can selectively restore calendar files as a collection of calendars from .Mac by using the Reset Sync Data… option in the .Mac preference pane by launching System Preferences, pressing the .Mac icon then the Advanced tab, and waiting for your client list to update. Once you've done that, press the Reset Sync Data… button, choose Calendars from the drop down menu and pick the option to replace the data on your Macintosh with data stored on the .Mac servers.

  • How can I turn off the yellow pop-up tool tips?

    Howdy,
I have searched high and low in the preferences and found nothing that does the trick. How can I turn off the yellow pop-up tool tips?
See attached screen shot. They are incredibly annoying. It's probably obvious, but I cannot find it anywhere on internets or this forum.
    Thanks!

Thanks Nancy. Unfortunately that doesn't do it. I turned those off awhile back. Nor can I find anything under VIEW that seems to make a difference.  Just FYI: I'm on a Mac OS w/Dreamweaver CS6 - but this has happened on previous versions of DW. Thanks again.

  • How can I turn off the sound from the original midi  or audio tracks when I turned on the duplicate tracks for editing ?

How can I turn off the sound from the original midi or audio tracks when I edit or listen to the duplicate tracks in Logic Pro 9 ?
I'm using iMac desktop with Mac OS X Version 10.7.3. Pls advise.

    Dan,
It sounds like one of your preferences has changed.
Go to preferences > audio > general, and make sure "track mute/solo" is set to "CPU saving (slow response)". It is probably set to "Fast " at the moment.
This setting (fast) basically causes immediate muting from the channel strip while your song is in play. This is because the audio is still being read from the hard drive, but the channel strip is simply muted.... like a hardware mixer. When set to "CPU saving", the audio from that track, when muted, is actually stopped from streaming from the hard drive, but there is a couple second delay before the audio is actually muted.
One would think that the fast setting is generally preferable, except when you need to do what you are doing. The only way to keep duplicate copies of channel strips acting independent of one another is to leave this setting on the "CPU saving" setting.
    Hope that helps

  • How can I turn off sound controll whele on the Satellite A200

How can I turn off the external sound controll in front of laptop - the wheel? It does not work, sound volume is permanently muted.
    OS: MS Windows XP
    Thanks

    Thank you Jaba,
it is Toshiba Satellite A200 Series. Drivers, its configuration and configuration of operating system is OK. The wheel is mechanical damaged, so that is the point. I have to disable its function in operating system. But where can I disable it? I have tried to uninstall Toshiba utilities (controls, hotkeys), reinstall drivers. I have tried to find an option in BIOS, there was no one.
btw: I am a linux administrator, but I have advanced knowledge of windows systems so you can be short.
