Can't turn on Mass storage on BB curve 9320

Hey....
I have followed the online instructions (Go to OPTIONS ICON > DEVICE > STORAGE > BB BUTTON) but there is no option to turn on or enable mass storage!   Any help out there ????

Odd.  The blackberry has a SD card installed?  You may have to take the battery out, remove the sdcard, put them back in and try again.
Also do you have media card support enabled?

If you do have a media card, can you check the free space?

  • Macbook 2012 Mid: Can't mount USB mass storage after upgrading to Mavericks

    Hi guys,
I'm having big problems with USB mass storages. After upgrading to Mavericks my Mac doesn't see some USB storage devices (mostly USB sticks and Android phone's memory cards via USB. My external USB 3.0 hard disks work fine) at all even though the devices themselves (for example my Android phone) are clearly recognized according to the System Report. When I plug them in, they don't show up on my Finder or on Disk Utility.
I've searched everywhere and it seems like some other people are having the same problem, none seems to offer a definite solution. I've even formatted my HD and reinstalled Mavericks from the recovery partition. Now it mounts a USB stick that was in one of the USB ports at the time of installation but still doesn't read anything else! The funny thing is when I boot into Windows 8 on my Boot Camp partition, I can mount any USB devices including the USB stick and the Android phone I'm having problems on Mavericks without any problems. I can even see then when I boot into the recovery so there's clearly something wrong with Mavericks.
Any chance someone has figured out a solution for this? Apple should've address this long time ago.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem? Note: If the devices are not in Mac OS X format, they normally won't mount in safe mode, but they should appear in Disk Utility.
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Can't enable USB Mass Storage

I am trying to use recovery software (Recuva) to replace deleted photos. When connecting to my laptop, I can only choose Media Device (MTP) or Camera (PTP). Recuva cannot find my phone without USB Mass Storage enabled but that option seems to no longer exist? What can I do to enable this?

You need to enable USB debugging on phone, so the computer can see it as a storage device.
Go into Settings, then scroll down to the bottom and click on About Phone.
Scroll down to the bottom to where it says “Build Number”.
Tap on “Build number” 7 times. After the third tap, Android will start counting down on how many taps are left before you can access the developer options, with a playful “You are now [insert number of remaining taps] steps away from being a developer”.
After the 7th tap, you’ll get a “You are now a developer!” message.
Now, go back to the main settings screen, and voila, the “Developer options” menu will be visible at the bottom, just above “About phone”!
    Developer options->enable USB debugging

  • 8320 - Can't use as mass storage device

    Hello all,
I received this Blackberry from my dad, he works at this company and they gave him this blackberry a while ago, and eventually they gave him a new one so he gave me this one. Needless to say, it was registered with BES, with some restrictions, however I was able to remove them all, from firewall policies to MMS and other policies that didn't allow to do certain things. (it's now BIS)
Everything is working great, except that I'm not able to access the media card using windows explorer. I'm not getting the prompt when connected to the PC, despite the fact that at options (on the device) I have it configured to prompt, and media card is activated and all.. which should make it work, but still doesn't.
I installed USB drivers (5.0.1) then the DM 5.0.1... tried to connect but nothing. However, DM does detect the device and shows its PIN number, I can make backups and install apps from there, so it is connected correctly, but I don't get a prompt asking for mass storage or just charge as it should...
I think it has to do with restrictions it used to have, because I can't think of any other reason for it not working. I wiped the device once, reinstalled ALL the device software (4.5) from my carrier, make sure no policy was active (I removed them using both policy.bin file and  JL_cmder method.. the later worked best as it removed policies for firewall as well, which I was not able to do with the blank policy.bin file method. I removed the policy file already from my computer and deleted the registry entry I made when I used it, so this should not be a problem now. I even reinstalled DM, USB drivers, and tried "calfix" from blackberry support, which supposedly was going to fix my problem, but didn't.
I tried reading lots and lots of forum post, either from here or any other BB forum on the internet, but the solutions haven't worked on my BB device...
So, can anyone help me? What should I do? USB mass storage option is the only thing that doesn't work, but I need it to transfer files between my PC and my BB....
    Thanks in advance.
edit: I forgot to add more details,
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    8320 with OS 4.5.0.55 installed
USB cable: the one provided with the device, I even tried connecting another Blackberry and it worked fine, so it has to be a problem with my blackberry and not the PC/windows/cable/desktop software.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
First -- thank you so much for the detailed report...it really helps us know how to guide you! Kudos!!
I do not think that you have yet successfully removed the IT Policy...here is another method that has been tried by many that works:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Storm-BlackBerry-9500/Remove-IT-Policy-from-person...
After you complete that, you will have to reset everything from scratch...but the Policy should be gone.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Can't turn off vardecimal storage on user database

There are no objects that has TableHasVarDecimalStorageFormat enabled. The below query returns nothing.
    Tried everything as per BOL.
    SELECT name, OBJECT_ID, type_desc, OBJECTPROPERTY(OBJECT_ID, N'TableHasVarDecimalStorageFormat')
    FROM sys.objects
    WHERE OBJECTPROPERTY(OBJECT_ID, N'TableHasVarDecimalStorageFormat') = 1
    order by 3,1
    EXECUTE sp_db_vardecimal_storage_format 'DB','OFF';
EXECUTE sp_db_vardecimal_storage_format 'DB'; Still show the db has vardecimal storage.
Trying to migrate from SQL Server 2008 R2 Ent to 2012 Standard, and not able to restore this database to target.
    Pleas let me know
    Suman

Why are you turning it off.  Its only applicable for SQL 2005.
    Refer the below link
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb326653.aspx
    [ @vardecimal_storage_format= ] {'ON'|'OFF'}
Specifies whether the vardecimal storage format is enabled. @vardecimal_storage_format can be ON or OFF. The parameter is varchar(3), with no default.
If a database name is provided but @vardecimal_storage_format is omitted, the current setting of the specified database is returned. This argument has no effect on SQL Server 2008 or later versions.
    Also read the remark section.

  • Can't mount USB mass storage device [RESOLVED]

I plugged in my iRiver mp3 player in an attempt to transfer files to it from my hard drive and it prompted me what I wanted to do with it (do nothing, open a folder, etc.).  Irrepsective of which alternative I choose, I get the following error:
    Error - Konqueror
A security policy in place prevents the sender from sending this message to the recipient, see message bus configuration file (rejected message had interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volum" member "Mount" error name "(unset)" destination "org.freedesktop.Hal"
Can anyone tell me what this means and what I need to do to fix the problem?

Thanks Bert.  It wasn't working until I realised I had to reboot to effect the new group membership!
Now I've got another problem.  My iRiver shows up with permissions:
    drwxr-xr-x
How do I change them so that every time I connect it to my PC it allows me to write to it?
    It's mounted as /media/IRIVER but I couldn't see a 'media' group in /etc/group.

  • Mass storage device on AE - wireless access

I have a 1 TB mass storage drive connected to the USB port of my AirportExtreme. The computer that is connected by Ethernet to the AirportExtreme can access this drive perfectly, but the other two machines in the house that connect to the AirportExtreme wirelessly can't "see" it. Ideas? Those two machines surf through the AirportExtreme just fine - just can't access the mass storage drive.

  • Help...Mass storage doesn't appear to work

    Hi,
Just recently updated my 8900 last night where it asked to do a back-up and then did what it needed to do. didn't appear to be a problem.. until I hooked it up today.
To make a long story short.. Now when I hook it up to my USB I am no longer prompted to go into Mass storage Mode...Which is what I want...cause now it doesn't allow me to transfer files from my PC using file explorer like it use to.
My mass storage settings appear to be alright, I tried disabling it and enabling a couple times with no change.
Any advice out there on how to fix this?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
I am having something of the same problem.  About two months ago my phone started to mess up (changing call profiles on it's own, going crazy on re-notifying (?) facebook and email notifications, etc) So I took it into Vodafone (my carrier) and they tried to just update the software, but it wasn't connecting properly, so it was sent away for repairs. It came back and all things seem to be a go - a few changes like the way the icons look on the main screen and that the lock button on top of the phone only locks the keyboard and not the whole phone anymore are not a problem, but the biggest is that I really can't connect to mass storage.
I have media card support: on
    Mass Storage Mode Support: On
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode when connected: prompt
I followed all the advice from this post: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Desktop-Software/HOWTO-use-your-blackberry-as-a-US...
And still nothing is working. I have just had the phone connected to the computer for a while and was charging when all of a sudden I got a message saying that because of a problem with the USB hub, my settings on the computer, etc, it couldn't charge.
Could this be a problem related to the software updates that were done when I sent the computer away for repairs? Any ideas for how to get it to work again?
    Thanks,

"I don't have USB option to select. when I go in the device and open USB, I get the same 3 option. if i select data transfer, it transfers from my pone to pc not vice versa."
    This doesn't make any sense.
    Open USB from Tools.
Then Select "Ask on Connection" and set to YES
    Then connect USB cable.
You will get 4 (repeat) 4 options to connect:
    PC SUITE
    DATA TRANSFER
    IMAGE PRINT (OR PICTBRIDGE)
    MEDIA PLAYER (MUSIC TRANSFER)
    Select DATA TRANSFER.
If these options don't pop up then you have a bad phone or memory card.
What do you mean "if i select data transfer, it transfers from my pone to pc not vice versa."
PC SUITE Mode, DATA transfer and MEDIA PLAYER allow to tranfer files from the device to PC and viceversa what do you mean? explain STEP BY STEP what you do, because I'm lost.

download the intel chipset support driver, or install the ThinkVantage System Update and let it pull down any drivers you would need.

  • Z87-G45 USB Mass Storage & other devices not working (except keyboard/mouse)

My Z87-G45 died on me last month in warranty so I received a replacement one.
Unfortunatly I'm experiencing mayor USB issues.
    - In Bios mode, no USB mass storage devices are detected (usb stick/disk). USB keyboard and mouse work fine
    - In Windows no USB device except for the keyboard and mouse are detected.
    - Can't see USB Mass Storage Device driver in the USB controllers list
Installed all latest drivers + CMOS CLEAR just in case. Results stay the same.
I assume it's best that I return the motherboard?
    Kind regards

All drivers are already all up-to-date
I also want to stress that USB mass storage devices are not detected in BIOS, NOR as bootable USB device. So I can't upgrade BIOS even if I wanted to.
have you done >>Clear CMOS Guide<< with power cord removed?
have you tested with mainboard out of PC case placed over wooden table?
