Can't turn on music in slide show.  Says it's playing - no sound

The background sound music no longer plays in my slide shows.  What do I need to do to get it restored?

I'm not sure but it sounds like not all of your bsd system layer stuff got installed. Try using Pacifist to check and see that all your bsd system stuff got installed, and if it didn't, install it. HTH.

  • Touble adding music to slide shows

Having real trouble adding music to slide shows.
Files are MP3 where is says compresser decompressor (Codec) error
CD music files are not recognised
Have elements 8 but loaded a trial of elements 12 and same result
Can load music in premier as a project but not in photoshop / organiser
Cannot save project as a DVD which you can do in photoshop elements 8
Can anyone give advice - spent hours if not days trying things out.

Try the free Audacity software (Google it) and convert the .MP3 files to .WAV files. .WAV are uncompressed and most Adobe products can handle them natively without the need for external codecs.

Look to using jQuery instead of Flash.  There are a variety of redy-made solutions available, just search Google or visit the Dreamweaver forum and ask there.

  • IPhoto '08: How can I copy an album or slide show to another computer?

    Hi,
I want to take a slideshow of a trip that I put music to and move it from my iBook to my new iMac so I can use iDVD to make a DVD of the slideshow (since I can't burn DVDs on my iBook). I have TONS of pictures from this trip, so it would really be a pain to cull through them again, even though all of the photos are on both computers.
Is there any way to copy a slide show (or an iPhoto album) to another computer via an external hard drive? I looked in the iPhoto Help and couldn't find anything on the subject.
Thanks for any advice! I promised some tripmates I would send them a DVD of my photos back in October, so I'm starting to feel guilty!

    Karin:
Here is one way to create the DVD:
1 - on your iBook with the slideshow ready to do use the Share->Send to iDVD menu option.
2 - once the slideshow is compiled into a Quicktime movie and is exported to iDVD, quit iDVD without saving.
3 - look inside your Movies folder for the QT movie that was just created.
4 - copy that movie file to your iMac.
5 - open iDVD on your iMac, select a theme and add a slideshow to the menu window with the "+" button at the bottom.
6 - open the slideshow editing window by double clicking on the slideshow button or text in the menu.
7 - drag the QT movie into the slideshow window on the left. This will let iDVD scale the QT movie to the TV safe area so non of the movie is lost to the TV overscan that will occur if the movie is added directly to the menu.
8 - once the iDVD project is ready use the File->Save as Disk Image to save the project as a disk image. This allows you to mount the disk image and play it with DVD Player to confirm that the encoding went as it should and there are no typos in the menu or title (my biggest error).
9 - when ready to burn use Disk Utility to burn, at the slowest speed possible, to a DVD-R disk.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How can I trim audio in a slide show

How can I trim the music in a slide show

You need Photoshop Elements + Premiere Elements in order to trim and mix audio tracks.
Or in PSE make the timings and transitions match the music track.

  • Adding Music to slide show in Photoshop Elements 8

I am trying to add music to a slide show in Photoshop Elements 8. When I go to add the music I get the following message:
The selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compresser/decompresser (codec) installed.
I've tried downloading a copy of things from the internet and either they were the wrong things or I didn't know how to use them, so I uninstalled them.
Can someone point me in the right direction of what I need to download and what I do once I download the software?
    Thanks so much!

I'm using MP3 and getting the same error.  Yes, the file does play in Windows Media player and in iTunes. The song I'm trying to use was purchased from Amazon.
Any advice on how to add this would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

I am using PS Elements 11 to create a slide show. The photos and transitions are complete. But when I try to add music in an mp3 format, the songs are there but the text for the songs does not appear in the bar below the photos in the slide show review mode. All I can see is a fuzzy gray line. I need to see the text for the songs so I can trim and reorder the songs. I have tried to create a new slide show with new music but the music area is also fuzzy. Texts appeared one time but no longer. Please help! Need for Wed.!!!!

    Welcome to the forum.
As Mylenium points out, this is not the Photoshop Elements Forum.

  • Adding music to slide show

Is it possible to add PART of a song to a slide show? I've made an iTunes playlist with 2 songs in it, but I would like the slide show music to have 2 1/2 songs.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Another application that I use is Amadeus II. Although not free you can edit songs with it, clipping dead space, do fade ins and outs, change formats and join multiple tracks and then save as a new file. Very versatile.
Users who use Garageband report you can do the same with it but I don't use it so can't confirm. I did try it once and found it a bit overkill and more complicated that I needed.

  • Adding music to slide shows??

does anyone know if there is a limit tot he number of songs you can add to a slide show? i'm not having any luck getting all the music i want into a lengthy slide show.... it keeps looping back to the 1st song and starting over after about 15 songs....

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. How may photos are in the slideshow? I've not heard of a limit but your 15+ songs is the largest number I've seen discussed here.
Is it the same song that begins the looping? If so try switching them out and see if there's any change.

  • Music to slide show?

Can I play music in my slide show (within my awesome website for my son's little league baseball team, thanks iWeb)
    thanks
    roger

    Roger,
Yes you can add music to your slideshow.
Here are instructions from iweb help:
In the site organizer, select the webpage you want to add the audio to.
    Do one of the following:
To add a single audio file, drag it to the image placeholder on a webpage or to the webpage canvas. If you drag the audio file to the image placeholder on a blog (the Blog or Podcast template), iWeb creates a podcast. (See the podcast topics below.)
To add more than one audio file, drag them to the webpage canvas. (Select more than one file at a time by Command-clicking.)
To add links to the songs in the iTunes Music Store (not the audio files themselves), drag a playlist (from the Media Browser or iTunes) or a song from the iTunes Music Store to the webpage canvas.
If you added audio files (not links), you can drag a graphics file to the placeholder above each song's audio controls. Or you can create a text box with a solid color fill to put over the placeholder. You can resize the graphic and the audio controls by dragging the handles.
    Hope this helps,
    Gayla

  • Having trouble adding music to slide shows

I've always been able to add specific songs from itunes to a iphoto slide show. Now when I go to add music the viewer just lists my playslists but won't open to show songs in the playlist. My only option is to play the entire playlist. I am using Itunes 7 and Iphoto 6.
Also, when I try to add music to a slide show in powerpoint, the view shows songs in my music folder, no playlists, and it only show some of the songs, naturally not the ones I want.
    Any suggestions?

Try the free Audacity software (Google it) and convert the .MP3 files to .WAV files. .WAV are uncompressed and most Adobe products can handle them natively without the need for external codecs.

  • Selecting music for slide shows in I Photo

When 1st using my new IMac G5, I was able to select "Party Shuffle" as one of the selections for music to play for a slide show in the I Photo music selection drop-down box. That option has mysteriously dissapeared. Now, without that option, I can no longer cause a continuos stream of songs to play with a slideshow - - now, the drop-down music selection box will only allow ONE song to be selected at a time. This is unnacceptable. What's happened? Please fix this. . . .
    Imac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

    Hi DBG2,
I do not see the Party Shuffle listed as a playlist to select, and I don't ever remember being able to choose it either.
You can either choose a song or a playlist. Check out the quicktime movies to see if you can figure out how to get your selection window to show the playlists.

When I export a slide show, if I export in a Medium file everything fine but if I export in a large file my music breaks up now and then. but my photos are so much nicer in a large file. When I called apple tech support they sugested I reinstall Iphoto. Is this the answer ??
also some of my photos in my library are blank just a white spot. what is happening???
    Thanks Ramona

As I recall it's in the Info window that you mentioned that you should be able to change the title of the file:
However, that does not change the file name unless you export the photo out of iPhoto using the Title as the new file name.
If you can change the title there try rebuilding the library's database file and repair library permissions by launching  iPhoto with the Option + Command keys held down and select those item to rebuild.
