Can't turn on WiFi or Bluetooth after updating to iOS 7.1.2

I have an iPhone 4S which is only a couple weeks old. After updating to iOS 7.1.2, I can't turn on WiFi or Bluetooth. I have restarted, reset the network and reinstalled the system. It is still grayed out. Any suggestions?

Try DFU mode

  • HT4623 I can't turn on my new iphone after updating ios as recommended.

I can't turn on my new iphone after updating ios as recommended. I can't access apple support and chat b/c I can't access my serial number as I can't get on my phone. I can't call them for the same **** reason. Holding down the on button(s) as per google does not work. Itunes says my phone is in "recovery" and needs to be "restored". I don't know what this means. Very frustrated. Please help. I need my stupid phone. On the verge of beginning to hate apple...

It's hard to tell what went wrong.  Some possibilities:
    1.  Your iPhone did not have enough free space.  Once it works, check Settings > General > Usage
    2.  There was an issue with your internet connection so the update did not download properly.
    3.  One of the many update steps got interrupted somehow

  • I am facing problem with wifi and cellular after update  Apple iOS 8.0.2

How can we resolve the issue with wifi and cellular reception after update the iOS 8.2 on iPhone 5s 32 GB

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • IPad WiFi Greyed Out After Update To IOS 8.1!!!

So I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my iPad from 7.1 to 8.1, but now I find that my wifi won't work!   So I've tried all the common things to try to get my wifi working again (resetting network settings; rebooting,  turning wifi networking off in privacy settings), but still no joy. The only thing I haven't tried yet is a full reset to factory What's going on Apple?  How can an OS update kill my wifi/hardware as others are saying???

    Hi shaun297,
When you did the full factory reset, did you test the Wi-Fi before restoring from backup?  Please try that.
And it does look like you did most of the steps in this article.
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim - Apple Support
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Restart your iOS device.
Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Make sure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.
If you still can't turn Wi-Fi on, please  contact Apple for support and service options. If you can turn Wi-Fi on but are experiencing other issues with Wi-Fi, see  how to resolve those Wi-Fi issues.
    Take care,
    Nubz

  • How do I get wifi to work after updating to ios 8.2?

    I have a iphone 5:  A 1429.
wifi was working great with ios 8.1.3.
I updated to ios 8.2.... and it says wifi is connected, but internet doesn't work for more than 2 minutes. I can turn it on and off airplane, and I can have up to 2 more minutes of internet.  I have 3 other devices on the network, and all of them work perfectly and have the internet, so the issue isn't the network.
How can I get the internet to work on my phone?

Try going to Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings. Once done, go back to wifi in settings and enter the router's password.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Can't Airplay to Apple TV 2 after updating to iOS 7.1

I have updated my iPhone 5 and my iPad 2 to iOS 7.1, and AirPlay no longer works to my Apple TV 2. I can't mirror, I can't AirPlay from YouTube, and I can't display photos from my phone or iPad to my Apple TV 2. On both devices, the AirPlay icon shows up, and they both 'see' the Apple TV, but when I click 'Apple TV' under the AirPlay menu, it gets immediately deselected and reverts to the device I'm using. A few things: my router and network are fine; everything worked perfectly before updating (and the iOS 7.1 update is the only change since the problem cropped up); all my network / router settings are exactly as outlined on the Apple help page; I have restarted all the network components and all the devices; and I even tried the 'change language' and 'Turn off home sharing' tricks to no avail. This is driving me nuts! Does anyone have any other ideas? Does anyone else have this problem too? Has anyone had this problem and fixed it?? My wife's going to kill me if I don't fix this soon as everything worked fine before and my kids AirPlay kid videos every day... thanks in advance!

I just tested it from my wife's phone that's still running iOS 6. I can AirPlay videos just fine. This makes me positive it's not the network and that it's an iOS 7.1 issue. We had 3 devices on iOS 6 for over a year, and AirPlay worked. Then I updated my phone to iOS 7 and everything was still fine. Then I updated my phone to iOS 7.1 and I could no longer AirPlay, but the iPad and my wife's phone still worked. I updated the iPad a couple days ago to 7.1 and it stopped working, but my wife's phone still works. It's a perfect correlation between iOS 7.1 and AirPlay breaking on three devices... I'll try ethernet anyway. Thanks!

  • WiFi not working after update to ios 5.0.1

Original iPad - after restore and set up as new iPad with 5.0 setting bar on left side of screen say "No wifi". Wifi router is fine, all other devices are working, including 2 iPad2s. Have tried to restore and sync with iTunes twice with same results.  Any way to reset?

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Also try this - Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
