Can't type or past into Applescript Editor window?

Some of us are having problems with typing/inserting text into the Applescript editor window. The problem and attempts to fix it were discussed at: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2133365
I am posting here to see if someone here might be able to help us.

New account does not work. Safe boot does. Removing the .plist does not work. When the editor is restarted it does not create a new .plist.
I tried to find the .plist in safe boot and it is not there. I went back into time machine and pulled out an older .plist and placed it in the preferences folder, and that did not fix it.

Can't Cut & Paste In JavaScript Editor Window

Can anyone help? Can't cut & paste inside JavaScript Editor Window.
I'm using Windows XP Home Edition & Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro

I've had this happen sometimes while having a JavaScript console window open. IT happens after I've had the console open and switched to another application. Then when I switch back to Acrobat, the console is unresponsive. The solution I found was to close the console and open it up again from the menu. Then it's back to working as expected.

You don't need to explicitly typecast a class to an interface, if the class is implementing the interface.
Example: List list = new ArrayList(); // Cast not required.And search on Google first. I'm sure this question would be answered by the lamest of tutorials.

Cannot paste into a discussion window.

Obviously, I can TYPE into this discussion window and I can even copy/paste into the subject/title window but I cannot PASTE into the discussion window.
The only browser we can use here is IE 8 (8.0.7601.17514) so I cannot test with another browser.
I can copy/paste to other editors and into other browser tabs but I cannot paste here.
I seem only one other comment about thsi froma few days ago, so I suppose it's my machine / setup. But what?

Why Can't I Copy/Paste Into Dreamweaver CS6?

I am running Windows XP Professional w/ Service Pack 3 and I have Dreamweaver CS4 and CS6 installed.
When I work on sites in CS6 I find I'm having issues with copying and pasting. It doesn't matter where I try to pull the information from, it won't paste into Dreamweaver CS6 (code view or design view). It seems to work fine in CS4, as well as every other application I try to paste to.
I don't have CS4 and CS6 open simultaneously. I just kept CS4 because it had a bunch of info on other sites I need to transfer over, as well as testing CS6 before fully commiting to it.
Any insight or help would be appreciated.

I have this problem, too, and it's driving me f'n crazy, too!
While I'm happy other forum members are offering to help by asking diagnostic questions, why grill us over what we have installed and what we can and can't do? This is a problem shared by many users. Why is the burden of "proof' on our shoulders? No offense meant, Nancy and Murray, but are you going to be able to resolve this bug? Unless you work at Adobe, I doubt it! It's not something WE are doing.
I've been using Dreamweaver since version 1.0 in 1998 or so, and I've never had this problem. It seems like something that should be pretty basic to identify and fix. Shouldn't Adobe be on these forums asking what programs we have installed on our machines and what we can and can't do? What help is it if a fellow forum member asks these questions? Adobe is a major corporation that should be listening to our issues, especially if we're forking over $600 PER YEAR for Creative Cloud!
This problem needs to be fixed, and it needs to be fixed now. I can't work like this!

I can't type some characters into firefox for android with physical keypad

I am using an android device which is a Sharp 007sh that come with a physical 9 number keypad like those old nokia phone, running stock android 2.3 and using an input method modifier named as cedIME that can be downloaded from google play.
and with this setup, to type character into the phone, it is necessary to press multiple time a ley to get a character. For instance, to type a 'z' into the phone, you'll have to press the '9' button four time, so it change from w to x to y and finally z. However, in Firefox, when doing so to url bar and text area, pressing the first time the button '9' would create a highlighted character 'w', then another press would change the character from 'w' to 'x', but then it no longer being highlighted and the input cursor move to the right of it. As such, pressing the button '9' for the third time would not result in the intended change from 'x' to 'y', instead it would simply add a new character 'w' after the previous character 'x', and pressing the fourth time would thus result in another 'x', which make the output become 'xx', instead of the intended 'z' character. This problem is so far unseen on any other apps.

I still have this problem with the accents in AC and I've just found that problem comes from the double-type characters (like the accents in Spanish).

Just had the same problem with a german keyboard,
y was z and z was y.
Try to search 'Editing a Locale' in the IDE Help, you have to specify the language for the project, you're currently working on.
It's quite good explained and worked after a relaunch of SJSE (nice job, SUN)

Can't Printscreen and Paste into MS Paint

Dear all,
I have recently been experiencing this problem where I can't use the printscreen button and paste into MS Paint.
For your info, the document I am viewing is not protected/encrypted in any way. I used to be able to printscreen and paste recently I have not been able to.
I am using Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Extended
I've read online that this is possible due to a recent Adobe Update. Does anyone know where I can re-enable printscreen for normal documents? I use the printscreen alot and it just does not make any logical sense to disable this function.

You are trying to copy a link, it is most likely in a different color such as the words "Microsoft's own forums" in his post. In Word highlight the word or words, control click on them, select Hyperlink, then Edit Hyperlink, then delete the link from the top box. It will then have a button asking if you want to "Remove Link", click on it.

Zooming into Menu Editor Window?

Hello All,
Is there a way to zoom in the menu editor window (like using the zoom tool in photoshop), so i can see very clearly where I'm putting buttons? I find it quite hard to see where I'm placing things at times and would like to be able to magnify all or some of the menu I'm working on.

Yes, Hal is - as usual - correct, there is no Zoom feature for the Menu Editor window.
However, one very handy shortcut that might help somewhat is Shift-Spacebar, which makes the currently selected tab fullscreen.
It won't display your menu larger than 100%, which I'm guessing if what you're looking for, but if your monitor is say, 1024x768 or something, it'll help dramatically.
Two things to remember about this shortcut:
It works with any tab - Assets, Track, Menu, Viewer, etc
If you hold down the Shift key, pressing the Spacebar will act as a toggle between your usual layout and the selected tab in fullscreen.
Not a solution but it certainly helped a friend when told him about it.

Can I copy and paste into word doc without losing formatting (ie., charts and columns, etc.)

We were recently given the opportunity to have our office files scanned to searchable PDF. Now that we have an opportunity to work with the PDFs, we are interested to know if we can take text and formatting of an existing document, copy and paste it into word for editing. So far I have only been able to copy and paste the text, which I then have to reformat, space and enter into a chart, etc. We are currently using Adobe Reader. Is this a possibility if we upgrade or install a different program, such as, Adobe Acrobat?

Can't Copy and Paste into Illustrator CS3 from Firefox 3!

I read these things all the time, but first time posting, so you KNOW this problem is annoying me.
I could always copy and paste from Firefox 2 into Illustrator CS2/CS3. However, once I upgraded to Firefox 3 I no longer can! I get the annoying "Quicktime and a decompressor are needed to see this picture." I can't believe more people aren't complaining more about this. Save your time posting about "Illustrator is a vector program, and Photoshop is pixel based," I know I have been able to do it before so that is not the issue. Any light that could be shed on the situation would be great! Thanks in advance.

I found that FF3 originally renamed .jpegs to the JFIF format when draging and dropping to the desktop, and it was not until March when the code was finalized that that you could drag and drop to your desktop without the conversion. You get around the illustrator CS3 problem a number of ways...drap and drop to the desktop and then to illustrator CS3, Drap and drop to photoshop CS3 and then to Illustrator CS3 or save as to the desk top, or use an older version of Firefox. I am currently tyring to determine if the JFIF renaming issue is what is preventing the direct drag and drop to Illustrator, and if there is a fix for issue. Any help out there or ideas would be helpful.
