Can`t (un)install iTunes8 because of key violation

Can`t install neither. A pop-up says that key the following key can`t get accessed.
"HKEYLOCALMACHINE32/software/classes/.m4v/openeithproids" I am admin with all rights.
Reason: This key does not exist.
(Un)installtion aborts here.
What can I do? Where can I get this key?

OK, I haven't seen this particular error before. You say the key is missing rather than a permission issue. It is quite common to have a problem with registry key permissions.
I guess we had better try an installer file cleanup to see if we can get past this.
Here is a method for removal of all iTunes related programs and cleanup. Obviously the uninstall step will not work for iTunes, but still go through the file removal steps. It is possible that you would get away with just doing the removal and cleanup for iTunes itself, but I have given the whole thing.
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program –All Programs>>Windows Install Cleanup
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
XP
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
Vista
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete and file or folder called Quicktime.
Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
If it does, install iTunes.
P.S. I haven't tried this on 64 bit Vista before, but iTunes itself is 32 bit so here's hoping ...

  • Can I re-install Office 2010 Product Key Card?

I have a Office 2010 Product Key Card version. Do I need to remove it completely from one Windows 7 computer before I attempt to install it on a completely different Windows 7 computer.
Or does that version of Office 2010 always need to stay with the first computer?
If the latter is true, I wish that would have been spelled out in big, bold letters on the product box.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Yes, you can transfer Office 2010 to another PC.
But please note that you must remove Office 2010 completely from the previous PC. You’ll also need to use telephone option in Activation Wizard to contact the activation center after you transfer Office 2010 to another PC.

  • App packaged with Flash CS6 windows installer can't be installed offline because of missing AIR RT

    Hi all
I've build an Application in Flash CS6 and AIR SDK 3.5 for desktop and packaged it as a windows installer. When i try to install it on a windows 8 pro tablet with no internet connection (in my case an Acer Iconia w5) a window pops up, telling me that i need adobe air and i should download it at www.adobe.com/go/getair_de. I thought the AIR runtime is packaged inside the windows installer, so you don't need AIR preinstalled on your PC. I've added a screenshot of my setting:
    Any help would be great

I think what you're looking for is the captive runtime.  For that you'll want to select "Application with runtime embedded".  This does however mean that you'll need to use your own "installer".  This could be as simple as zipping the folder up or just copying it over.

Hi I have a problem with my Adobe Creative Cloud in that when I un-installed it through Control Panel a it's folder was left in the Program Files x64 and there is a file in there called CoreSync_v_1_1_0_x64.dll which is preventing me from deleting the Creative Cloud File which means I can't re-install CreativeCloud because when I try to re-install it it says I don't have access to that file although I am an Administrator account and have access to do anything with that file!
I am completely confused and don't know what to do

    Hi there,
Here are the specs for my computer.
    MacBook Pro
    Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014
    Version 10.10.1 (14B25)
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
I have the original install discs for CS6 Master Collection.
It use to work on my old laptop which is a mid-2010 macbook pro
I am using an account with admin priviledges.
When I migrated the information from my old laptop to my new laptop, all the software copied over, but wouldn't launch.
So I tried to reinstall the software with the original discs and I get this...
I've used the adobe cleaner and tried to uninstall everything and reinstall everything, but I still get the above screen.
On top of that, I'm trying to install the creative cloud app, and I finally got it to install, but it just has a blank screen.
Ideally I would like to have my CS6 installed and also the creative cloud app.
    both aren't working. please help!

  • HT4929 I am unable to install OS XLion and get a message that it can't be installed on Disk Mackintosh HD because a recovery system can't be created. I am then referred to apple support but am unable to find anything which can help. Can someone help pleas

Unable to install OS X Lion as "...it can't be installed on Disk Mackintosh HD because recovery system can't be created. Visit www.apple......"
Visiting the web pages does not help me can someone please point me in the right direction ?

OK. You have a Boot Camp partition which is why the issue. See the following:
It seems the issue is that the space at the "bottom" of your available space when Lion installs it's partition is already occupied by BootCamp. The fix was to go into Disk Utility; Select your Hard Drive; Select Partition; Move the bottom of your main partition "up" a bit to create a space for Lion; close Disk Utility; Install Lion; once Lion is successfully installed, go back into Disk Partition and drag the bottom of your main partition back "down" to the bottom of the window.
In your case use Disk Utility to "shrink" your OS X partition a little more than 1 GB.
To resize the drive do the following:
    1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
After the main menu appears select Disk Utility and click on the Continue button. Select the hard drive's main entry then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    2. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
    3. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for each partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle upwards until you have reduced the existing partition enough to create the desired empty space. The space below the resized partition will appear gray. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
Remember that you only need to shrink the OS X partition a little more than 1 GB. Now, when you try the Mountain Lion installation the installer will be able to make the Recovery HD.

I had all my software, including my ‘Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium’ removed from my MacPro (OSX 10.10.2) by a Computer technician after I had inadvertently installed some malware.
Now I can’t reinstall my CS4 because the installer software wants me to identify the product from which I am upgrading, but mine isn’t on the list. The old product from which I am upgrading is called ‘Adobe Design Collection’. Furthermore, it has 4 serial numbers (one each for Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Illustrator), not just one, as the installer requires.
I know this can be done, as I have had it working for a long time. Am I doing something wrong now?

Contact support be web chat and have them generate a working temporary serial/ challenge code for the install.
