Can't uninstall an IE9 language pack (ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING)

I have looked through similar questions and can't find an answer.
The problem is I have one IE9 language pack I can't remove (ES - spanish), and this is stopping the IE11 install.
I have run SFC - no errors and installed SUR - no help.
To try and remove package have run: FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*9.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart
The CBS log from this is in https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=EC68FBA6C1302DD%21107 which shows the ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING.
My laptop is a windows 8 ASUS, sold with a win 7 partition(?), so I only have win 8 discs.
Please can you help.

Hi bluefm,
Have you installed any IE language packages?
If yes, we could go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features\Installed Updates, then find the language package, uninstall the update.
After that, check if we could install IE 11.
I check the CBS.log and find the error code HRESULT = 0x80073701 - ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING.
This error may be caused by missing system file.
We could use the Windows 7 inplace upgrade to fix the corrupted file if we have the installation Disc. For more information, please refer to the following KB.

  • How can I burning the downloaded language pack ?

I have downloaded the language pack CD of the solaries 8 OS because I need it as I am in Hong Kong but when I have finished the download I do not know how to burn the CD into the CD-R, so can you help me and sent me the solution for burning the language pack CD.
    Thanks for your kindly help.
    Thanks Thanks .......... more

    Hi,
First you must unzip the language pack that you downloaded using winzip or something similar. Now you have an image file that is suitable for burning to CD. Now you can, create a CD from these images using your favorite CD creation software. Depending on the software package you use, you may have to rename the file first
to give it an extension the software recognizes as a CD image. For example, if you use Easy CD Creator, add the extension .iso to the file name. Next, from the File Menu in the program, select Create CD from CD image. Then, select that image file. If you use Nero burning rom, also use a .iso extension.
Take a look at the following url if you havent already done so, it will walk you through the steps needed.

  • Help me to uninstall Irish (IE) Language Pack

I write my gmail messages in English. Since yesterday the words are all showing they require correcting (red dots underlining). I don't know why. It may be because I may have selected Firefox's Irish (IE) Language Pack (dictionary) recently.

  • How can I add the different language pack to my E6...

    Subj.

Open a Finder window and click on the Macintosh HD on the left under Devices. One of the folders showing will be the applications folder; drag it onto the dock to the right of the System Preferences icon (individual apps can go to the left, but folders need to be to the right).
    Hope that helps.
P.S. Don't forget to update your equipment settings/signature.

  • Korean language pack causes problems with Outlook email width

This has been an ongoing problem for me for some time now and I'm hoping someone can provide a resolution to it.
I had to install a Korean language pack in order to read Korean Word documents.  The problem is that after installing this language pack, it causes some of my emails to appear a lot wider than they should and wider than they appear for others receiving
    the same email.
There seems to be a trend in that it happens with emails that contain Chinese or Japanese languages.
I uninstalled the language pack and the problem went away.  Then recently I reinstalled the language pack and the problem returned.
Does anyone know why this would happen and if there is any way to fix it without having to uninstall the Korean language pack?

Well, I tried installing all updates (including optional ones), but that did not fix the issue.
    Any other ideas?

  • Windows 8 installation failure with German language pack

    Hi,
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E330 with Windows 8. We just received it over Xmas - nice product. Just one Thing so far: I can't get the German language pack installed. Language, Keyboard layout and other regional Settings are set to German. After downloading the German language pack through Language->German->options->Download and Install Language pack (German Language Pack - Windows 8 for x64-based Systems - (KB2607607) [de-DE_LP])I always run into the following error during the Installation (download seems to be fine, error happens after about 2/3 of the Installation - if you believe the Progress bar). From the Event Viewer:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070002: German Language Pack - Windows 8 for x64-based Systems - (KB2607607) [de-DE_LP].
I already tried quite some stuff without success: no pending Upgrades, several reboots, switching off Firewall/anti-Virus, selective reboot just with Winodws Services and Startup stuff, ... No success.
Does anybody have seen a similar Problem? Anybody with a solution to get the German language pack finally installed?
Thanks in advance for your Support,
    Ingo

  • Language Pack not usable message in Windows 8.1

Hello, I have Asus X202E Vivobook bought with Windows 8 Japanese OS version. I had the OS switched to English.  Yesterday
I installed Windows 8.1, I can see that the english language pack is still there in the system but it shows unavailable.  I'm unable to switch the OS back to English or read anything as I do not know japanese.

    Regards.

    Hi,
I've done it. Since I know little about computers and even less the expressions used. I will try to explain step by step.
As I said in previous message, I couldn't do anything with EN (GB) language pack. At that point I had on the English language options - windows display language written something much longer than I saw on some guy's video on youtube
(showing just Japanese to English display language settings). I also had in previous response mentioned situation:
In  advanced settings in language settings I set English as override
for windows display language, even though there was unavailable (使用不可) written
in the brackets. When I noticed, on another blog (with screen shots etc.), that the selection in the same settings
bar was: use language list (recommended).
I choose this  one on my computer (I know a bit Chinese, and since the characters are
the same at least I could read the names of the countries, and chosen the one witch didn't mean a country and had sth written in the brackets). At
that time I again had in English language options - windows display language option to download and install it.
Which I did, and I got almost everything in English right away (without even restarting or signing out/in). Now when I go to English language options
    - windows display language there is written: available.
Today (with English back) I set also the welcome screen and some other details, but there is one survival left and it's Language (言語)
title in the Control Panels Date, Language and Region. And he can stay :D
Even though I didn't get answer directly on the page, I've got it indirectly through writing posts and articulating the problem. So thank you and I hope that above explanation can
    help somebody else too.

P.s.: I added links and photos, but since my account isn't verified yet I had to remove them all.

  • Accidentally auto-approved Language Packs

When setting up a new WSUS 4.0 server I accidentally synchronized language packs and auto-approved them. I have disabled synchronization of language packs under products but they are still being detected as needed. I have already ran the WSUS Server Cleanup

The fact that they are detected as "Needed" is just a function of reality.
The real challenge here is that they were auto-approved, but you're not actually interested in deploying them.
DECLINE the updates and be done with it. :-)
This won't completely clear them out ... you're stuck with their presence, but by declining them you will effectively hide them from the clients, and thus no longer have to deal with them reported as "needed" updates.

  • Custom language pack for Wiki Server

I want my wiki to be in a certain language that is in Mac OS X's language list, but not supported. Can I make my own language pack?

Did you install Acrobat from Acrobat Pro EFG installer? If yes, then you can change Acrobat language by following the steps below:
    1. Launch Acrobat.
    2. Open the Preferences panel from Edit->Preferences.
    3. Go to International tab.
    4. Change "Application Language" to "Choose at application startup"; click OK.
    5. Close and re-launch Acrobat.
Now you will get an option to select the language when Acrobat launches. Choose English.
    Hope this helps!

  • Nokia N8 language packs

    Hello,
My Nokia N8 was in English when I brought it and I wanted to change the language to Polish. I noticed that polish wasn't on the list, so I looked for it on the website but it said that you had to download a language pack. I can't find a polish language pack for Nokia N8-00 so I need some help.

You cant download it yourself. You have to to go to a Nokia Care Center for them to install it for you.

  • Aditional Language Packs

I need to be able to run office or pages on my mac, which I already do, but I need to be able to spell check in Polish.
As far as I can see there is no Language pack for Polish in OS X. There is a Polish option in the language settings in system preferences, but all that does is change the menu options to polish Language.
Any one know how I can actually install a Polish Language pack?

I assume (not always the best cause of action) that
all the programes get there spell check information
    from the system.
No, only Apple programs and others that have been designed to do that. MS products and Adobe products have their own stuff, as does the old Appleworks.
If so it must just be a file with a
list of words in and the spell checker just compares
what you type to the file.
If this is true you could then just make your own
file and add it to the list of exsiting languages.
Can any one tell me if this is true or not?
Yes, that's basically true, and that is what CocoAspell does for you, for Apple programs at least: It converts dictionary files that people have made into a form that is usable by OS X. If you wanted to try making your own dictionary for CocoAspell, you would probably have to look at the Aspell site for info on how to do it.
    http://aspell.net/
If you wanted to try and make something for MS Word, you would have to ask MS how to do that.
