Can't uninstall creative software - please he

Hi all,?I tried out the Zen V Plus and decided on another mp3 player - now I can't remove creatives software from my system. Nothing from creative shows up under add remove programs (I used that to remove the creative stuff first, it didn't work though)? When I click on my computer, I see the Zen V Plus media explorer listed under the "other" tab- I can right click on it but it wont run, and there is no option to uninstall it?Also, on my desktop I still show the ZenCast organiser. I can delete the shortcut, but Zencast organiser does not show in add remove and there seems to be no uninstall program in the creative folder - I've tried starting in clean boot and safe mode and just deleting the Creative folder under Crogram files/creative - but that doesn't work, I get access denied message due to running DLL files. I've tried going into msconfig and the files in question are not present - I've emailed tech support and they have been less than helpfull. They say it's a problem with windows. I think it's a creative problem- it's their software afterall. If anyone knows any tricks or methods to get rid of this stuff please help!?The only thing I can think of would be to get the original install disk, install everything again, then try to uninstall using the original disk- (sometimes they have that option) but I have no idea where or how to get a disk short of going to bestbuy, buying a Zen Plus and then using the disk and returning the whole thing. I really would like to avoid that if possible. Also, when I click start, all programs, I do have a creative folder, I can then click creative Zen V Series (R2) - and I have an "uninstall creative media explorer- but when I click it nothing happens. thanks - Jake

Too bad you did not like zen v, i like it and want to upgrade my muvo to this, eventually
I have installed the stuff you talk about multiple times and did not have problems deinstalling.
You can either go into registry (back it up before doing do) and delete all creative/zen entries or you can try to install all software again, reboot, start in safe mode, deinstall all.
Good Luck.

Are you holding down the "d" key, all by itself, just after the system shuts down for a restart?
And how long did you hold it down?
I held mine down for about 40-50 seconds. Then I lookat at my routers WAN light and it was flickering so I let up on the d key.
If that does not work then maybe there is something wrong with your MBP. Is that the reason you want to run this test, something isn't right with your unit?

  • Please Help.  I can't uninstall Creative Suite 1.1

    Hi,
I'm trying to uninstall Adobe Creative Suite through Programs and Features in Windows Vista, but everytime I try to uninstall it, I get an error right after I double click on the Adobe Creative Suite to unistall it.  This is the error that comes up immediately.
"Adobe Creative Suite Installer 1.1 has stopped working"
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
The Creative suite was bought years ago throug Adobe.  I've removed everything else adobe in the uninstall program, but can't uninstall this Creative Suite. Is there another option for removing it?  Do I need to manually remove the folders and registry entries?  If so, does anyone have any info they could give me to help?
Thanks!  And again, any help would be greatly appreciated!
    -Chris

    Hi Michael,
Sorry, I should have mentioned that I did try using the Microsoft Installer Clean Up tool but once it was installed, I did not see anything with Adobe in there.  The Adobe Creative Suite file does still show up in the uninstall programs screen.  Also, I did check the adobe file folder and the program files are there and have not been deleted or uninstalled.
Anyone else have any other ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

  • NO UN-INSTALLER How do I uninstall creative software

By far the worst problem I have ever had with creative software.
I want to remove software form my computer but there is no uninstaller.
All I need is the Tactic3D Rage Control Panel, and the software installs the following:
    - Auto Update
    - Creative Control Panel, (Which does not even work with my product)
    - Alchemy (No need for this)
    - Product Registration
    - Tactic3D Software (Only thing I need)
HOW DO I GET RID OF IT???????
Managed to uninstall Creative Control Panel
    the rest is still here..
I do not want to use auto update as I have had some really bad issues with it in the past,
especially with my X-Fi Fatal1ty Professional Champion Series sound card.
it kept automatically installing the wrong drivers causing BSOD etc..

I guess everything is compiled with the Tactic3D Driver, and App.
So I just installed everything, and turned off Auto Update.
As long it doesn't cause a problem, I guess it's OK.
The only game I have that uses Alchemy is "Star Wars Battlefront II" which is like 10 years old.
So OK, I will probably never play again, but who knows.

  • Can you uninstall a software update?

    Hi,
Is it possible to "uninstall" a software update from Apple? I am trying to test an idea that my wireless connection was stronger before I downloaded and installed the most reason Airport update. I am using one of the new iMacs. If need be, would erasing the hard drive work?

Downgrading can be done using Archive and Install:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

  • I can't uninstall Apple Software Update.

In trying to uninstall ITunes, I was given a checklist from Apple Support to uninstall certain programs in a specific order. I need to reinstall ITunes, and they said that I needed to remove it first. I am running a Windows 7, 64 bit HP laptop. No program is removing this and it very specifically says to not remove them out of order.
Below are the instructions sent to me. (I tried to copy and paste. However, it doesn't look good, so I will include the link that Apple sent to me.)
    Can someone please help?
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Learn how to completely uninstall iTunes and its related software components from Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8.
In some rare instances, you might need to remove iTunes and related software components before reinstalling iTunes. If you're directed to reinstall iTunes by AppleCare, an article, or an alert dialog, you can do so by following the steps below.
If you're running Windows XP, see Removing and Reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows XP.
Media you've bought from the iTunes Store or songs you've imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default. They won't be deleted by removing iTunes. Although it's highly unlikely that you'll lose any of your iTunes Library when following the steps below, first make sure that your iTunes library is backed up. See iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive for more information.
If you have issues installing iTunes, try the options outlined in Issues installing iTunes for Windows.
If you've received errors regarding inaccessible registry keys during installation, try the steps found in "Could not open key" message when installing iTunes, QuickTime or Apple components for Windows.
    Steps
Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel.Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then restart your computer.
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Don't uninstall these components in a different order, or only uninstall some of them. Doing so might have unintended affects. To remove the components:
Quit the following programs if they are running:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Windows 8: Click File Explorer > Settings > Control Panel.
Windows Vista or Windows 7: From the Start menu, click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, click "Uninstall a program." The Programs and Features Control Panel will open.
Alternately, if you don't see "Uninstall a program," click Programs and Features.
    Select iTunes.
    Click Uninstall.
On some systems, iTunes might install two versions of Apple Application Support. This is expected. If both are present, be sure to uninstall both versions.
When asked if you would like to remove iTunes, choose Yes.
After the uninstallation is complete, don't restart your computer if you're prompted.
If you see other iTunes entries in the list, remove them by repeating steps 4–6.
Using steps 4–6, also remove all instances of:
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Restart your computer.
Make sure that iTunes and its related components are completely uninstalled. In most cases, removing iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel will remove all supporting files belonging to those programs. In some rare cases, files might be left behind. After following the steps above, confirm that the following files and folders have been removed. If any are left, remove them.
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\CoreFP
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files\iPod\
Follow these additional steps  if you receive a "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program." message.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, confirm that the following folders have been removed:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\CoreFP
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\
Follow these additional steps if you receive a "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program." message.
    To remove these files:
Windows Vista or Windows 7: From the Start menu, select Computer.
    Windows 8: Click File Explorer.
Open Local Disk (C:) located in Computer, or whichever hard disk your programs are installed on.
    Open the Program Files folder.
Right-click the Bonjour folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Right-click the iPod folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Follow these additional steps if you receive a "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program." message.
Right-click the iTunes folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    Open the Common Files folder.
    Open the Apple folder.
Right-click the Mobile Device Support folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Right-click the Apple Application Support folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Right-click the CoreFP folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
If you're running a 64-bit version of Windows, continue with step 12. Otherwise, skip to step 23.
Windows Vista or Windows 7: From the Start menu, select Computer.
    Windows 8: Click File Explorer.
Open Local Disk (C:) located in Computer, or whichever hard disk your programs are installed on.
Open the Program Files (x86) folder.
Right-click the Bonjour folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.

Open Local Disk (C:) in Computer, or whichever hard disk your operating system is installed on.
Right-click the Recycle Bin and select Empty Recycle Bin.

    iPodService.exe Alert
Follow these steps if the message "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program" appears when you try to delete the iPod folder.
Make sure that iTunes and the iPod Updater utility aren't open.
    Press and hold Control-Alt-Delete.
    Select Start Task Manager.
    Click the Processes tab.
Locate the iPodService.exe in the list.
Click iPodService.exe and choose End Process.
    Quit the Task Manager.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases. Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

    Hello,

Mgherber I am sorry that your Macintosh got stolen.
You can adjust the password on your Adobe ID.  Beyond that if you attempt to activate on a third computer you will be given the option to deactivate all.  Once this option is selected the next time your old computer attempts to activate the Creative Suite software it will request the updated credentials.

  • Can't uninstall Creative Suite after system restore

I recently performed a system restore on my windows 8 machine. This brought back my creative suite 5 which i previously uninstalled. Now I can't remove it because the uninstaller seems to be having problems. It wont show me any of the items to uninstall, hence, I cant remove any of the products from the bundle. Is there any other way to uninstall the product? thanks!

The uninstaller might have gone corrupt due to the files missing. Run the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html and remove the files from there.
Once removed, delete the temporary files(Run->%temp%) and empty the Recycle Bin as well.
    Check if that helps.

  • Can I use Creative software for 2 Ze

I have a Zen Touch 20G, which I feed with Creative Media Source Software. I just got a Zen Micro, which came, of course, with its own software. Before I install the new files, I'd like to know if the installation will let me choose between the two MP3 players. Or do I have to install software No. 2 in a completely different place? Will the two remain friendly, or will one overwrite the other's Registry settings? Thanks.

Unless you have some huge issue that requires it, personally I would stay stick with what you have. 52Mb is too much for dial-up. Alternati'vely, I'm guessing you have a friend with broadband You could always ask, and then copy it onto the Micro with the USB mass storage mode
To throw more numbers around: The Micro came with firmware version .0.03, but I see that ..0 is available. I did download the latest firmware but have not yet installed it. Any reason why I shouldn't, especially since I haven't yet loaded the Micro up with music and words, which I assume would be lost in a firmware upgrade.
The ..0 is a good firmware, I recommend upgrading to it (it has the reduced standby period, among other things).
To stretch the point even further: I listen a lot to Audible books on my Otis player. There has been talk on this list about an even more recent Zen firmware version that allows Audible formats to play on the Micro. But I don't see a reference to it on the Audible site. Any tips?
The Audible compatible firmware is one of the v2 firmwares, so is markedly different from v e.g. needing Win XP and WMP0. For more on this find the link "the difference between the Zen Micro v and v2 firmware." in the FAQ post.
