Can't unpack KB70013.sar

Dear Gurus,
I've downloaded the Basis support pack KB70013.sar for solution manager 4.0
But I can not unpack this file using the regular sapcar command "sapcar -vxf"
I also get an error message when I try to unpack it via the GUI
Can you please help me?

Hi Karim,
Please do this command> SAPCAR xvf <File>.sar
or SAPCAR -xvf <DIR><FILE_NAME>.SAR
example,
SAPCAR xvf <CD Drive:\INST_700/DATA/CCM20017.SAR>
if it doesnt work,
It may be because of the sapcar extractor that you have. You must have the appropriate SAPCAR.
Please download a new sapcar.

Use search for all categories>sapcar > then choose your sap version.

Looks like one component in Media Encoder is either missing or corrupted somehow.
Could you uninstall Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 and please make sure all files are deleted after uninstall? Then, please try re-installing it.

Can't find KINBC8A.SAR file for PI_BASIS 2006_1_640

Hello, I'm trying to upgrade to PI_BASIS 2006.1.640.
As per note 1007796 I need to unpack archive KINBC8A.SAR but the file is not available for downloading with 51032427.zip file from the SAP Software Distribution Service.
Do you know where can I get this file?

If I look into the file content I can see "KINBC8A.SAR" under
DELT_640\DATA\KINBC8A.SAR

Can't unpack Oracle8051EE_Intel* files

I downloaded multiple files for Oracle 8.0.5 EE. I tried to
unpack them using the command (as in the instruction):
cat Oracle8051EE_Intel* | tar -zx
It extracted the first file but failed to continue new with the
succeeding files. It says it couldn't continue reading the file
or it's an invalid tar file.
I also tried concatenating them into one file and did an extract
using:
cat Oracle8051EE_Intel* > Oracle8051EE_Intel.tar
tar -zxvf Oracle8051EE_Intel.tar
but still it gives back the same error.
Could anyone please help?

ISA R3 develop where can I find the classes

Hi everybody,
I want to modiy Java classes from the ISA R3 shop.
I have unpacked the *.sar file which contains several ear files like b2b.ear, shopadmin.ear etc. I have unpacked this ear file. After that I have unpacked the corresponding war files. I thought after this steps I can find the Java classes. But there are only jsp and xml files.
Where can I find the Java classes (Beans etc.)
Is it correct that I have to unpack ths files with the jar.exe from the jdk and not with the ISA-BUILT tool?

Hi Axel.
   I suggest you that checks the notes in the forum of   Customer Relationship Management (CRM), in that forum comes all about ISA.
   For modify ISA you have to download de ISA Build Tool, you make your changes and after that you install the new ear application.
   All the bean classes in this applications comes in jar´s but you can extended the classes.. for do it, read the SAP ISA Development Guide

Archiving-FI SARI

Hi　All、
I have request in hand, related to Archiving. I dont have any idea about Archiving. All that I know about the request is : There is some Program with vague name
GP47A7X4VH809QXJNXP6Y6DG7XQD on its Selection Screen we give Company Code, Document No and Fiscal Year.
After executing on the output list when I double click on any Document it takes me to the second list where I can see some more details. On this second list there is one column Description which is coming BLANK. I need to find out how we can get Description text in this list.
Other Information: I can execute the same Pgm through SARI by giving same details in the Selection Screen. When I debug this report and Transaction for the second list, my control remains in some SAP Standard Program, not able to figure out, where should I check this. Is this program auto generated by some other Transaction, which is that Transaction and if I need to do some change where should I do?

The report name you mentioned could be that of an archive information structure, but it also could be a report writer or report painter generated report as well. To see if it is related to an archive information structure, you can go to transaction SARI, click on Custominzing. Then, use the drop down functionality to try and find an archive infostructure. Search for an infostructure related to archive object FI_DOCUMNT (if the report is searching for archived financial documents). There will probably be multiple infostructures for the archive object so you will need to view each of them. When you have selected the infostructure, click on display. Then, click on the Technical data button. If the infostructure has been activated, there will be a Report program generated name at the bottom of the pop-up box.
Check this against the "G*" report name you mentioned.
And, SARI can only used to view archived data.

Payment Card in SD - Unable to unpack to reduce quantity on delivery

Hi,
We are implementing the payment card functionality and has the below issue.
Say the order is authorized for $ 1, and it is going to authorize at the delivery stage. Say the order is for 100 and the allocation was done for 100 PCS.
The delivery needs to be reduced to 50 pcs, but it is not allowing because there is insufficient authorization. To reduce the delivery quantity, the packing needs to be unpacked and its not allowed, because of insufficient auth, and it gives a messages that subsequent functions are not allowed,
We are trying to do a user exit to get the delivery amount and authorize that amount instead of the total value of the sales order.
However how can i unpack the HU's to reduce the quantity on the delivery?

Merging of Order, delivery and billing information is not so easy.
In ECC we have a new datasource for Open order quntity against delivery available check those datasources once may be useful.

In the Thunderbird Mail Toolbar, can you change the name of an icon? I would like to change "Write" to "Compose".

Couple of months ago I switched from MacMail to Thunderbird. The transition has gone pretty well, but I am less than enamored of T-bird Toolbar button (named Write) that you use to compose a new email. I would prefer it to be named "Compose". So I was just wondering whether there's any easy (or not) way to do that. I have done some searching for an answer to this, but I'm either searching ineffectively or there's nothing around. TIA.

You are welcome. Personally, I'm applying a bunch of patches (other than string changes) for each release, and hacking omni.ja works well for me. It's basically an optimized ZIP file and can be unpacked with many common tools. However, it may break when trying to ''re''pack it. Thus, unpack it completely into some new temporary folder, make any changes there, rename the original omni.ja and zip the folder contents into the new omni.ja (obviously while Thunderbird is down).
A more permanent option might be to create an extension that adds a "clone" of the "Write" button to the main toolbar, which is identical except for having the desired label and a different id (or maybe the same id would just override it?), then you can swap it from the toolbar's customization dialog. This certainly has a learning curve but you would be done with doing this effort once. Someone experienced in add-on writing would need to help you here (which I'm not).
Anyway, plenty of ways to screw things up. ;-)

SLTOOLS.SAR error when importing from JAVA export

I have done a standard system copy JAVA Export from a NW 7.01 EHP1 going to a new target system that is identical to the source. I then moved the export files to the target and am running the import.
I am now getting an error stating: "error opening X:\EPD_EXPORT\JAVA/TOOLS/SLTOOLS.SAR (error 6). The system cannot find the path specified".
This TOOLS folder and SLTOOLS.SAR file does not exist because it was not created when I did the export from the source system. Any idea why this was not created during the export? Also, how can I obtain SLTOOLS.SAR? Thanks in advance.

Did you check "DB specic tools" during the export ? if not, try that option and export it.
SLtools should be under $SAPGlobalDir/sltools - (Please check whether your SOURCE system has it)

How to display sar and stat results in a graph?

I usedthe stat tool (i.e. iostat) and sar to record performance data. However, none of these tools can display their results in a graph. I know that Windows has Performance Monitor, which records and displays results in a graph.
What tools do you guys use to display results from sar or the stat tools in a graph?

kSar is a java application that can graph output from "sar -A". It also has threshold tagging, so you can find bottlenecks easily.

How to unpack an installer previously compiled with Inno Setup?

Unpacking a MUP file

Hi,
There is a mup file already created. I want to look into the mup file, what units/files are there in it. How can I unpack a mup file.
I wish to see the contents of the mup file and find which file is copied to which path.
I dont have any .rbn files of the mup. Is it possible? if yes,how can I acheive this?

Hi,
you cannot unzip a mup file manually but when you double click on it you will see the screen of the upgrade deployer tool.
In the left part of the window you see a tree with the particular units. After clicking on them you see on the right side the tabs for the commands, files, folders etc.

Unpack soap messages

I was given the task for create a synchronous web service that acts as a mediator between MS Office and an existing web service.
The Office Word client can send a request to the web service through the mediator and received back a response through the mediator. The request must to be synchronous and the response too.
The Office application sends the request to the Web service using SOAP messages. The Web service can unpack the request, handle it and forward a request to the existing web service
Here are my questions:
1.How can I unpack the request, handle it and prepare a response for MS client?
2. How can I manage the synchronous WS? Is there a best practice for doing it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Articles, best practices, examples, anything.
