Can't upate anything in my iPod (60GB) once it reaches around 22GB

I have a 60GB iPod. I am unable to update anything (photos, videos, songs, podcast, audio books) in my iPod once it reaches around 22GB. It won't allow me to use it as a hard disk either. I get the error message "The iPod Cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-69)." Can anyone please help me out with a soluton to the above mentoned problem?

Thanks for your response Jeff. But the article is not of much help, as I have already tried those steps. I get this error message only when my iPod gets filled upto 22GB. I have reset it thrice and tried uploading but the problem persists only when I get close to 22GB.

    Restore...
From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.
There's more to try but let's go a bit at a time.

Did you go into iTunes to change the location of your media files? if not you will need to go into iTunes and click on preference and select the advance tab then click the iTunes Media folder location.  Select the location of your on external hard drive.

  • Can't do anything with my ipod thanks to the new update HELP!

So the new 10.5 update tried to download.and just like everyone else it wouldnt complete downloading because of error message blah blah whatever. THAN i plug in my ipod and it says it wont work due to the apple mobile software whatever. SO after going through a jillion threads and uninstalling using the uninstall menu in program and features AND using REVO Uninstall, AND going through progam files & program files (x64) ive got read of anything to do with itunes as everyone suggested. now no matter what version of itunes/quicktime i download nothing will work. i downloaded itunes 8.2 and it said my library was too new ituneslibrary.itl or whatever wouldn't allow itunes to open at all. so of course it wanted to automatically update to itunes 10.5 which comes full circle back to the begining.. IT WONT INSTALL BECAUSE OF THE BLAH BLAH WHATEVER ERROR BOX.

  • I can't do anything with my iPod Nano, help urgently!!!

    Hi!
The other day I was trying to update my iPod nano with the latest iPod software but the program went frozen so I can't do anything. I disconnected the iPod -even when in the iPod window appears the "Do not disconnect"- and I saw that all the songs I had were gone, I tried to connect it again but since that day appears the same "Do not disconnect" but in My PC only appears a new disk unity and in my iTunes doesn't appear anything. I tried to enter to the disk unity but I can't and when I disconnect the iPod, it appears a message of "nothing could be written in the unity G" or something.
Please, if somebody could help me I would thanks forever!

Try resetting the iPod: plug it into the wall charger, switch the hold button On and Off, and hold the center button and Menu for about 8 seconds. If that doesn't work, try the other 4 R's: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/
As a sidenote: when you want to disconnect, you have to either do it through iTunes (click on the grey arrow next to the iPod icon on the left hand side of the iTunes screen), or through Windows Hardware Manager (in the taskbar on the bottom of the screen, double click the icon of a grey box with a green arrow in it-select the iPod & click Stop>OK).

  • Exchange password incorrect. I can't enter the domain info because I can't do anything on my ipod

my school requires that all students change their password to their exchange accounts every few months. When I did so, my ipod stopped working. Now everytime I turn it on a 'password incorrect' box pops up and I can't do anything else on it. I put in my new password and it doesnt work, when I put in my old password it doesn't work and when I hit the cancel button it just pops back up. It is completely useless. So I went to my schools website and all they offer is the domain info, but I can't even try that because I can't escape the "password incorrect" box. What do I need to do?!?!

If you can't do anything think to the iPod like going to Settings>Mail>the account and change the info for the account then or go to Settings>General>Reset> Reset All Settings, then
    - Reset the iPod nothing is lost. This will likely not work.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory setting/new iPod.

  • My iPod keeps telling me to retype my Hotmail password, but when I type the password it doesn't work. I can't do anything on my iPod because the pop-up won't close.

Okay. Guess you can't read that. But whenever I turn on my iPod, I have to type in my email password, but whenever I type the correct one in, it doesn't register with my iPod and now I can't do anything because the pop-up notification won't close.

    Same problem for me.
    1. Cannot connect to wifi as icloud password pop up keeps appearing.
    2. tried deleting account. UNable to do so.
    3. tried resetting password by logging into apple id through desktop as mentioned in one of the responses in another thread. Unfortunately the apple id to be reset is the same as being prompted by icloud and hence unable to reset the same.
Feel like breaking the **** ipad into bits. Stupid of apple to let such a bug in and not offer support !!

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
    Then, if necessary, see:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

  • I just got my ipod and i have networks but it wont let me make a password i have tried to find my wi-fi password but i can't is there an app where i can get wi-fi off of it please some one help me i can't do anything on my ipod

i just got a ipod and i can't find my wi-fi password im so mad i have alot of networks but it wont let me make a password and i have tried to find my wi-fi password is there an app or something that can help me get wi-fi on my ipod i feel so sad knowing that i cant even do anything with it

You need to contact the people who administer the networks to get the passwords for the networks. If there was such an app as you are asking for then passwords for wifi networks would be worthless.

  • Can't get anything onto my ipod!

I recently got an iPod 120gg. I plugged it into my computer, did all the necessary bits, such as restore it. and I've named it and everything. When it comes to getting my music onto it, it seems to hate me. I can sync about 200 songs onto it before it gets stuck copying one random song onto it. iTunes then freezes up and the iPod no longer shows the syncing visual. I have no option but to just unplug it. It then just doesn't let me sync anything else at all. This is a 120gb iPod and all I can get onto it is about 10 albums please help! I've tried everything.
using a windows vista PC with latest iTunes 9 software.

Exactly the same problem as you man

  • I can't search anything in my iPod touch 4 apple store.

I can't search a single thing without it coming up as No Match found and i can't even download a single thing in search because i can't even find anything on it!

Just what happens when you try?
Also are you trying to download them directly to youyr iPod or sync them from your iTunes library?

  • I can't do ANYTHING on my ipod touch.

*my ipod touch (2nd gen?) won't turn on, won't show up on my computer - and i've tried 'recovery mode'. if anyone else has had the same problem and sorted it i would appreciate greatly tips / info.* here's what happened:
    1. the battery ran low and device turned itself off.
    2. i plugged it in to my ibook with usb cable (as usual) and got the low battery (red) screen, ok so far.
    3. about an hour later i looked at it because it wasn't showing up on itunes...
and the battery indicator is still red.
    4. i decide to plug it into the wall with mains adaptor...
i unplug the usb cable and the ipod screen goes white with some flickering lines.
    5. i plug it in to mains adapter and wait for 20 mins, screen is still white. something is wrong so i go to the apple support page. it says press and hold the home + on/off button for 10 secs, so I do.
    6. ipod turns off, screen goes completely black. i think this is ok so i leave it to charge.
    7. a couple of hours later and i try to turn it on (still plugged into the mains) and nothing happens, not even the low battery screen.
I've looked around forums and have tried pretty much everything i can think of / find online, including pressing home as i'm plugging it in. it doesn't show up on my computer at all when i plug it in - even when i go to the usb connections bit on System Profiler - which usually works for my temperamental external hd.
does anybody have any advice? or maybe you are having the same problem? thank you!!!!
+(if i manage to fix it myself i will post solution here for anyone else with same prob.)+

    Thank you both for replying.
I had already tried different usb ports and it didn't seem to make a difference, however I've just plugged it into the mains again now (but a different wall socket) and the battery indicator is showing! It is still red, and I'm going to keep it plugged in until it is fully charged, so as yet I don't know if my computer will see it. I have tried to switch it on again, but it won't - I'll try again when the battery has charged a bit.
I wonder if there is not enough power from my computer to charge from empty and this is the problem. Last night when I plugged it into the wall I was using an extension lead which shared the power between my iPod and bedside lamp, whereas now the only thing plugged in is the ipod. Perhaps this is an issue for you also?

  • "Do not Disconnect"  Can't do anything with my ipod

Just bought a new ipod mini. Able to download software but when I connected ipod to computer, all it says is "Do not disconnect." Took to apple store, they updated from 1.3 to 1.4 and it worked ok. When I got home and connected to home computer, still says "do not disconnect" and unable to do anything. I am able to download songs to library and have purchased a song from itunes to library but unable to transfer any songs to ipod. Help!!

    Maria,
It's likely that the iPod is Mac formatted and needs to be formatted for Windows use.
Don’t use the supplied installation cd.
First off, if you don't already have it, download and install the latest iTunes 4.9
Then download and install the latest iPod Updater, then restart your computer.
Run the updater program, connect your iPod when prompted (not before), and follow the set up procedure, and you should be good to go.
