Can't update After Effect 13.0.0.214 to the last version (13.1)

Hi,
I can't update After Effect 13.0.0.214 to the last version (13.1)
The Creative Cloud app notify AE as up to date :
When I try Help / Updates inside AE :
If I look at the Help / Updates / preferences Help / Updates inside AE , I can see only these apps  :
I can't add After Effect to this list...
Any ideas ??
Thanks,

Rnmt have you removed and reinstalled the After Effects CC 2014?  Available updates are automatically applied during the installation process.  You can find more details regarding the uninstall and reinstall process at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.

  • You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software.??

I have recently been having issues signing into my Apple ID and decided to go in and update my email and change my password.
Since changing my email and password I have been unable to update any of my apps. I receive this error message when trying to update, "You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software."
I have looked into other forums and communities for a solution to this issue but from what I have read iTunes/Apple has yet to figure out a solution.
I have also read that the cause of this issue can be linked to two things.
One, is if you have multiple accounts on one computer. I only have one iTunes account/ Apple ID on this computer. This is my personal laptop and no one else has ever loaded on another account.
The second cause is linked to the country to which the apps were downloaded in. My computer and Apple ID were both created in the US, however 9 months ago I moved to New Zealand on a one year work holiday visa. Since living in New Zealand for the past 9 months I have been buying and updating apps, it wasn't until today when I received this error message.
I would really like to find a solution to this problem, but at the very least I would like to know what exactly caused this issue so that others may hopefully steer clear.
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Cheers.

I think the issue is that iTunes (for whatever reason) thinks I have two Apple ID's.
also, to further complicate the issue, when i try updating the apps from my iPod the iTunes store is still recognizing my old hotmail Apple ID. So when I go to enter my password it won't accept because it doesn't match with the old Apple ID, even though it is the same account (just new Apple ID name).
I have tried signing out within the App Store and re-signing in with my Apple ID but it still brings up my old Apple ID name when I try to update.

  • Installed 11.0.3 today.  Tried to update apps.  iTunes response was, "You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software."  I REALLY don't understand.  I paid for MANY applications and stole or borrowed NOTHING.

    Hi 969Polyglot969,
You may want to report an issue with the affected apps using the instructions in this article:

You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software.
    any soultions???

Same here. Just becoming a nightmare. Updated iTunes and now can't update apps it itself is showing as available updates. Count me in on the latest "You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software." bug.
Next I have to post about a new problem in iPhoto on a new thread.... it lost the "link" between some but not all photos I have in the library and what it itself posted to FaceBook a few hours ago...
    Incredibly frustrating.

  • When i want to download the new version of iPhoto, i get this message : You can not update this software since you do not have the main version. What should i do ?

    HI,
I got this problem : when i want to download the new version of iPhoto, i get this message : You can not update this software since you do not have the main version. What should i do ?
IPhoto was already on my MacBook Pro when i bought it.
    Thank you for your help
    Thierry

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Open App Store > Purchases, and see if iPhoto app is listed. If not, unhide it > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928 Apart from that, check that iPhoto is in Applications folder. If not, put it in this folder.
If nothing works, remove iPhoto, open App Store > Purchases, and install iPhoto free of charge

  • HT1420 I'm getting this error. You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software.

My kids did something to itunes and now I'm getting the error.
You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software. This is the computer that we have always updated our apps on. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

I have the same thing. It looks like it's the store. What is happening is that instead of the store showing you only the updates for the account you are logged into, it shows you the updates for all of your accounts. So if you try & update an app that was purchased with another account, you get that message. This is a pain, as you have to go through the apps individually (update all just gives you an error) , and then log out & into the other account again to get the rest of the updates.

  • I can't update my apps because 'I have not owned the major version of this software' what is wrong?

Since a few days, I can't update my apps anymore via apps update. I am getting a message that says: you cannot update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software'. What is going on? BTW - I can update by going to the App Store, searching for the app, which is listed as ready for an update, and then clicking....
    Thanks for any help,
    Coosje

    I did, thanks for suggesting.
1st attempt was a failure. All apps that didn't update on phone (ex. Acrobat Reader, Evernote, Google Drive etc) didn't update on my mac's itune store. same message and an additional one with try later error 100.
    unrelated, (?!)
wrote to apple support indicating the problem (20-25 mins ago). no response yet, just confirmation email.
i changed my password (appleid), changed secondary email.
went ahead and logged-in again with new credentials across all devices, suprise - all apps downloaded fine.
    glitch in the matrix?!

  • Can't update After Effects CC

Can't update trial After Effects CC on Mavericks. Pop up Application Manager window and says to contact Administrator.

    Found solution:
"I found the problem is due to AAME installing a pref file which DISABLES updates from working in CS products. TheAdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat file. This is quite a pain and
someone installing Adobe CS with AAME may not be aware that this file is being installed, making it very confusing for administrators.
The solution is to delete or rename the  <Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat"

  • How can I update After Effects CS6 to work with Mavericks?

I bought CS6 in September and now I have updated to Mavericks on my Mac.  It says it won't run on Mavericks?  Is there a new download?  I don't want to move to Creative Cloud, I just want to keep my purchased version.

Adobe After Effects CC and CS6 require updates to be compatible.
Download the latest build for After Effects CC (12.1) at http://adobe.ly/AE_CC_12dot1_details
    ...and After Effects CS6 (11.0.3) at http://adobe.ly/AE_CS6_1103

  • Trying to get a version of After Effects for my Mac, I have the student version of CS6 and it's not included on there

I need only After Effects for class, but I don't want to buy a whole CC membership just to get one program. I already have most of the programs included in the CC anyway, just the student versions of them, and they're CS6, but that doesn't really bother me. My question is, what are my options to get my hands on After Effects?? I need to figure out something by Wednesday, when I have class next. Thanks!

Well, per the Adobe website, After Effects CS6 for Students is only available via a Suite
    Creative Suite 6
Or US$999 for the non-Student version of After Effects CS6 alone
    Creative Suite 6
Both those options are expensive compared to the Cloud options and give you only outdated - 3 year old - software.
All Cloud plans give you access to 3 independent versions: CS6, CC and CC 2014, so your Cloud options:
There are no Single App Student versions, so your only other Student option is to subscribe to the Cloud Complete Plan for Students and Teachers @ US$19.99/month (requires 12 month commitment - so US$240 all up).
Or Single App After Effects (non-Student) for US$19.99/month - not much point since you can get the full Cloud Student and Teacher version for the same price
Creative Cloud pricing and membership plans | Adobe Creative Cloud
Financially, the Full Cloud Student and Teacher option seems to offer the best value for you. Just remember that you're only ever renting the software. You never own it.

  • How can I update a Numbers '08 document to work with the current version?

I've had Numbers '08 for quite awhile (obviously). Have a few spreadsheets in it that I tried as an alternative to Excel. I've now got the most current version of Numbers but it won't open the spreadsheets created in the '08 version. I get an error message telling me to save them with Numbers '09, which I do not have.
Is there any way to get these updated to work with the current version? If so, that would be great, would like to try it out. If not, I'm just going to copy this stuff into Excel and be done with Numbers entirely.

This is a work-around - but also send feedback to apple that that is pretty low in the 21st century where people may keep data without opening it for a very long time - then need it desperately.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/>Apple - Feedback
Export the spreadsheets to another format - CSV may work - then import into the new version.
Also you could try export to excel format and import.

  • Can't update After Effects 11.0.3?

I'm working on AE 11.0.0.378. Months ago I updated to Mavericks - AE didn't work.
So I downgraded again to the OSX 10.8.5 and AE worked again.
Now I want to install the AE update first and then update to Mavericks.
But I can't. I always get the message that this patch is not for me?! and I can't install.
If I want to do the update through AE/HELP/UPDATES it doesn't even show me that there exists a newer version?! But there is as I want to update to 11.0.3.
Can anybody solve this problem? Thanks a lot in advance!

Uswob I would recommend you implement solution 2 in CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.  Renaming or recreating the OPM.db file should allow the applications to then be listed as available for installation in your Creative Cloud Desktop application.
